  1. Keep logging, breathe and remember stalls are normal. It's our body's way to adapt to our weight loss. It loves to add, hates to lose. It's first survival instinct is to protect the body and it needs the fat to live. However our survival instinct doesn't know how overweight I am and everytime I lose, it tries to hold on!! Lol, keep doing what your doing. Stay hydrated and walk more. This will pass, GL

    Can Exercise Be Bad?

My doc said building muscles takes at least a month or two of working out. Muscle will burn more cals too so I think your stalled because your body is adjusting to you being more vigorous and doesn't want to let go of anything. Ask your NUT.

    Chocalate

I love chocolate too lol I recommend sugar free chocolate?? Like dove dark choc sugarfree squares, or sugar fre choc pudding or 40 cal fudge Popsicles. I crave a lot during my period time so I keep sugar free choc, I eat a little bit now, not the whole portion like I used to lol Good luck!

    Nausea And Pooping

Oh man, the nausea- yes I hated that mofo with a passion! I woke up after the surgery nauseated, constantly spitting out nothing. I would do my daily lap around the hospital floor, hit my drip to sleep and wake up dry heaving! Kept happening both nights in the hospital. Lasts 3-4 days after surgery. Did throw up when I got home had a tsp of SF Jello and Tylenol w/ codiene to help with pain, felt spitty then threw up all my hard work of what I just ate. It feels like your tummy is your throat and it was really tight. That was the last time I threw up my 1st week of surgery. One month out threw up ground turkey, didn't chew enough I was running late for class. Chewed, felt stuck, felt my mouth getting spitty and threw up, felt better, went to class. Just last week I started feeling nauseated again and I hope this one goes away fast! Feel nauseated drinking Water and taking Vitamins. This just started happening. Pooping- diarrhea and constipation will be your two new roommates. Drink plenty of water, your body will be flushing out. Can be so runny your scared to release gas to being hard as concrete you want people to clap for you when your done going to the bathroom. I have colace pills which helped tremendously. No benefiber or metamucil, my doctor said its too early for my sleeve and I wont be able to take in 64oz the first month and it will back fire and constipate me more. No caffeine, it dehydrates you. More than anything! WALK- this helps move gas, helps you heal and your body flows better. I did laps around my house, to walking around my neighborhood. It was so helpful and it makes going to the restroom a lot easier. GL
  7. My head hunger was bad for the first 2 weeks. My family was reminding me that in 6 months to a year I can eat anything I wanted to but just in smaller portions. It is hard, but so is carrying all that weight and being obese and having your life cut short. You can have your bagel or beer, just in smaller portions. This tool doesn't restrict what I eat, it restricts how much I eat and that's where my problem was, I never went by serving size, I went by stuffed size lol. I understand your mourning, but your foods will come back, you can just break your portions into more servings throughout the week

    Crying? Really?

This is totally normal. Your body has truly been through a lot and is trying to heal while old stored fat is releasing stored hormones as well. I cried 9 days after surgery because I felt alone and stressing with school and feeling tired and hating car rides because I was so tender. Immediately I felt better and realized this is going to be one hell of a journey. Great job on the weight loss!! Wishing you the best GL
  10. Whaaat went from a 38C to a 38B?! The things taken away with weight loss...

  11. I want to buy a short laced dress with stunning heels!! Ahh one day one soon fine day!!
  12. My parents, grandma, brother, cousin and best friend know. My bestie's roommate overheard our convo on the phone last year that I was thinking of this surgery and called me telling me that I shouldn't get it because there are too many complications and that I could die from malnutrition. I thanked her and told her she was right and I wouldn't get it. I learned quick to keep my mouth shut. I am super proud of my decision and never been happier, yet this is my private decision and I don't want my extended family or coworkers to know because like others mentioned, at the end of the day it's not their business. Our surgery is a tool, and with that I have dedicated a future of healthy eating habits and daily physical activity which I will promote to the fullest. Don't get me wrong, I love discussing VSG, especially with our family here and youtube my progress. I attend Kaiser meetings and discuss how the sleeve has changed my life and if I can change someone's life for the better, awesome! However, not everyone will understand what we have gone through and will give me their opinion whether positive/negative I just don't want to hear it or be given a "look" like I took the easy way out. I am fully supportive of those who want to shout it from the top of their lungs that they had the sleeve, more power to them! The only person who makes fun of me saying I took the easy way out is my protective brother and he does it jokingly with love cause he knows it drives me nuts lol! I've fainted twice, been dehydrated and exhausted before it all started getting better. This s--t is hard!
  13. Sure- right when I wake up I take my PPI and gall bladder prevention meds (I pill each) Breakfast is Multivitamin, Biotin, fish oil b1,d3 and b12 and gummy Fiber chew for lunch After a few hours calcium citrate chew evening multivitamin with PPI and GB
  14. I was exhausted the first 5 days- thankfully I had my mom dad and brother as 24 hour nurses. My mom kept reminding me it would get better after 5 days- I was literally living by those words, it'll get better each day. I felt fatigue the first month and now at 7 weeks I feel 90% back to normal. Maybe have a close friend or neighbor be with you after your husband returns to work? You will be exhausted and need to heal properly. No lifting more that 5-10lbs or bending, no housework, just rest, fluids and walk the first 5 days. I wish you the best, GL
  15. Congrats Fern! I think it was also self confidence, loving yourself and overall happiness that you're radiating
  16. 7 weeks out and struggling to get in liquids. Max is a few sips and it's hard but I keep on trying!

    Regrets?

LOL I was ready, happy and super excited until...my regret came 5 mins right BEFORE the surgery, a nurse dropped an IV Fluid bag, and I thought they were going to kill me or make a mistake. I freaked, started crying, my mom's crying, an RN started tearing up because I was shaking and saying "what am I doing to myself, is this worth it? I'm gonna DIEEE wahhhhh" Thank god for my surgeons team they held my hands, told me their names and what they will be doing and that it's their job to protect me and it's my job to make sure this tool is used the best way possible to get healthy. I calmed down then knocked out and woke up sleeved. I honestly think I was getting restless and just wanted it to be over with already. I woke up just happy this surgery was over and done with and ready to start healing. No regrets since. Well, I did not chew ground turkey one time completely and it came back with a vengeance, I do regret that. I learn quick I realized that being scared is normal and okay. It's not okay to be this weight and eat so much food and not feel satisfied, this is not healthy. I improved my health and there's absolutely no regret in that whatsoever.

    Diet Coke

I would not recommend this at all hon. Soda and your new sleeve will not work well, specially if your not even a month out. IF worse comes to worse let it go flat the next day and sip that, hopefully you wont have to go to that though. GL

    Why Are We So Impatient?

Lol I can relate! Your SO there and it's what we wished for and it's happening and we just want to get there. I'm the same way at 190 hitting 189 lol. I got there then gained 3 pounds and now I'm back at 190. I learned my lesson on patience this way lol, I don't mind what weight I am as long as it's going DOWN You got this! Oh I weigh at least every Wednesday or if I forget every 5-7 days. Weight fluctuates all the time so after I use the restroom in the AM is the only time I check. Have a family member take away the scale so it's out of sight out of mind.

    Itchy Incisions

I used Aveeno with oatmeal because my incisions were super itchy lol, it helped a lot. I had lots of dry skin and it needed to be moisturized. I now make it a daily routine to moisturize because it's a tad difficult for me to get my water and fluids in.
