Breakfast is usually one boiled egg, or 2 tbs of light cottage cheese and 2 tbs no sugar added peaches, or 2 oz of light yogurt. I drink almost 32 oz of Water flavored with fruit punch drink mix and i scoop of unjury protien powder from breakfast to end of work at 4. 21 grams of protien lunch is usually 2 tbs of shredded chicken moistened with light mayo and light babybell cheese, or a slice of deli turkey and a slice of cheese, or 4 shrimp cocktail. dinner is usually another one of the lunch options, or cottage cheese and peaches. And drinking more water through out the night and a sugar free popcicle or two thru the evening. Hope this helps you!

16 days pre-op and no ready for liquid diet
SlimSneezy replied to TxBritt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I only have to do a weeks worth of liquid diet for my surgery. I am on day five. I am surprised at how managable it has been for me. I have not cheated once. I just keep thinking that I want to do everything right, so I can have a safer surgery and hopefully a better recovery. I have a protien shake for breakfast, a protien shake, chicken broth and jello for lunch and a protien shake, chicken broth and jello for dinner, with lots of flavored water between all of them. I think I am filling up on water. If needed in the evening, I will have a protein shake or jello. Hope that helps! -
You CAN do it! I am on day 5 of my pre-op diet, surgery is Thursday. I am pleasantly surprised at how managable it has been. I have not cheated one time! Even watched my daughter eat at Wendy's yesterday...and boy did the fries look goooood! I guess I just want to make sure that I am doing EVERYTHING possible to have a healthy surgery and hopefully a better recovery.

Dr. Hoen's office has a support group once a month. The next one is Feb 7th 3:30-5:00. Then in March they will have one from 6:00-7:30. I dont have the March date. But every other month they alternate the times. Here is the phone number if you need to call them 913-677-6319.

Calling all Kansas Sleevers!
SlimSneezy replied to mamamckinzie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me, I did alot of research on this site and another site to help me find the doctor I felt was best for me. In my research I found Dr. Hoehn in Kansas City. He has great reviews. His program is also a Center of Excellence, which made a big difference to me. I have also been able to follow some of his patients on here to see how they are doing. I didn't come across any doctors from the Wichita area when doing my research. Although I know there are some here. -

I have a tentative date of January 17th...if I can get my EGD done and results back by then. -
I have had my first appointment with Dr Hoehn last month. On Jan 7th I go for psych eval and pre-op education class. =)
-
I will be late January/early February, too! And I am self pay, too. Really wish I was one of the lucky ones who have insurance coverage for it.
-
Super jealous of your insurance coverage. For mine to cover it, I have to have a documented BMI of 40 FOR FIVE YEARS!

I have my first appointment with Dr. Hoehn tomorrow. Can't wait, but super nervous!! I am also self pay.
