    Scuba Diving and Lap-Band Question

Spoke to my dietician today about diving again (I want to start up again with the new season in March/April) and she thought I would need at least 1 ml out. Given I have only just started being filled the thought of being released fills me with dread. For the courses I want to do I would only need to go down to a max 22 m / 72 ft with experienced trainers who know about the band some start at 6 m / 20 ft. I am tempted to start with the courses that are completed in shallower Water, having liquids only before and after and see how I get on. Has anyone else with a restricted band been diving? Have you had it relaxed so you can go?
  2. I went to a concert on Friday night. All the way through and since I have left I had a wierd feeling in my band and port similar to how my ears feel when they're ringing from the loud volume and the thumping bass. Has anyone else noticed this or can anyone explain it?

    October Bandsters!!!

I have my second fill appointment on Wednesday and my dietician has just booked me in for a third as she doesn't expect me to be restricted after this fill either. So disheartening. Paid so much for the surgery and not getting anywhere yet. Does anyone else have the wait 4 weeks before fills rule?

What To Eat/drink Before And After Workout?

It really does depend on who you speak to and how you feel personally. I have to have completed my last meal at least 4 hours before working out. I used to take electrolyte tablets just before with half a bottle of water Now I'll have to find a nice tasting dissolving tablet version. I eat after but I try to leave it at least an hour before eating anything with carbs so the workout is having as much effect as possible. I also drink 1/2 bottle of water before, 1 bottle during and 1 after. Then I wee for England but at least I'm not dehydrated.
  5. My name is Sarah. I was banded on October 23rd and had my first fill on 30th November. I am still adjusting to living with a band and finding it all a bit strange from time to time. I joined a gym and am being very careful about what I eat. I started having some pain near my port (nothing serious just uncomfortable) and after some googling I found a blog called Chronicles from Band Land written by Catherine. Not only was it was amazing, incredible and heartwrenching but she was banded on the same date as me just a few years earlier. It was fate. I read her entire blog from start to end and then started on some others. From there I have discovered LBT (yes I am still getting used to this as an acronym and not thinking LGBT instead) and begun my own blog. http://fatontheinsideuk.blogspot.com/

    October Bandsters!!!

I was banded on October 23rd and had my first band fill on November 30th. My second fill is on 21st December and am really looking forward to it as I haven't got any real restriction at the moment. I have been having some pains around my port (like someone punches me in the stomach) but they come and go from day to day. They are quite painful but they are over quite quickly so don't want to have to take time off to get to see my doctor if it's quite common. Has anyone else had them? Could it still be after affects of surgery?
