  1. Good luck getting that sticky stuff out your hair. I think its a money making ordeal myself. I have a Resmed autopap 25. I been having my machine for awhile. I have used it less than 35 times lol. Its a complete aggrevation for me as it wakes me up more than I sleep. Plenty of times I have ripped it off my face. Like I said good luck on BOTH your studies cause more than likely you have severe sleep apnea just like me.
  2. My post op says that I CAN have skim milk. I just choose not to cause I think its gross. But however I did try it day 6 and didnt have any problems. Hot/warm liquids go down easy but I am hardheaded. I have to have ice in my drinks. A little discomfort is a small price for a nice cold glass of apple juice. Water and flavored waters go down the worst in my case. Keep sipping. I can get down 3 big sips fine but ends in aquarium bubbles coming up also. New sleeves do funny things to people.

    Considering A Real Diet

Never said that you had to stay on the low carb atkins type diet. Please read the op first comment. They already have the sleeve and wants to go down more but they have plateued. Maintaining and shocking the system by the low carb diet is a majorly different ordeal. Ask me if I am going to stay low carb for the rest of my life and I would tell you you lost your mind. But I know this, it will never be high like it was before. Read it ,somethings got to give. A resleeve isnt going to fix her problem. Its a nutritional change that has to happen to accomplish what she wants. Lmfao how people jump when no one said to jump. You have to take in the full data before u just make an assumption thank you very much.

    5 Days Post Op

Lmao. I could see how it could be the devil to alot of people. Food just doesnt bother me unless my wife or kids sit there in front of me eating carb loaded foods. Which as of yesterday they stopped because its either support me on my journey or just get out and I will do it by myself.

    Genetics

Did you ever think that our obesity gene was superior to the skinny gene? As of right now in our time where we live we dont need it thus we strive to get rid of it. But if you lived in mongolia or tibet our storys would be different. LoL I am glad your skins shrinking back up to normal. Elastic skin. You gotta love it

    Considering A Real Diet

Ok I am going to agree with you on some points. Healthy carbs are good for you but still has to be in tight control. But to get your body to Burn the fat is by going into a ketosis state. Theoretically your right. But in the real world therorys are theorys. I can just attest to what I noticed on my diet pre op. once I started controlling the carbs the weight started dropping even eating up to 2000cal/day. Everyones different but as fat people we have a genetic advantage of our abilities to convert carbs over to stored energy. I dont have any background in nutrician but I know I used to eat the same thing as my father everyday. He stays at 150lbs and I stayed at 325lbs. We worked together, ate together, lived together. We both did house framing which burned tons of calories daily. Theres no explaination other than carb conversion. For the Majority of people here. The High protein/low carb is the bible. In Professional Bodybuilding carbs are only used for insulin spiking pre/post workouts because insulin has one of the greatest growth factors. Nutrient timing is key. On another note. What if someone ate 1000 calories a day of straight carbs. Would they lose weight? Sure would. And they would also be causing skeletal muscle damage, eventually death from cardiac arrest. On the flipside if you eat no carbs you will never die. It will however have an effect on the brain. Thats why you need a small amount of healthy carbs. The healthy carbs feed the brain promoting memory, sleep, and so on but in excess goes straight back to storage. You have to find a happy median. My name should be Capt realworld logic. Its just since I was 14 I have been trying to find away to lose weight. I have had so many people try and tell me how, even doctors. They even gave me meal plans. The problem was it was 45%protein/45% carbs/10% fats and the caloric range was 1600-2200 per day. You know what happened? I still gained slowly. But keep in mind slowly. As soon as I got carbs under 60grams per day i started melting. The only reason why I did my surgery is to prevent bounce back. Now once you get to where u WANT to be thats when u find your happy median to keep your body stabilized. I know that I speak in circles but I have a form of autism. I just hope you understand where I am coming from and have an understanding that textbook entries can be wrong and rewritten.
  10. I am 7 days post op and colds still feel like a brick going down. Now warm clears go down great. i am still on clears about to switch over to full liquids when I feel like it. Theres no point in stressing your new stomachs. Just take it easy. As of right now I can take in 3 big sips of fluid before I feel the brick. Then I feel air bubbles escaping then its fine

    Considering A Real Diet

Plain n simple CARBS ARE YOUR PROBLEM!!!! Bottom line. Argue if you want but unless you succumb to that realization you are doomed. Hell prove me wrong. Take that challange
  13. I watched it every so often. To me the point of the show is really showing the over indulgence we have in american society. He does eat some messed up stuff. He must have a ducolax lifetime supply. I am more of an andrew zimmerman/anthony bourdain type of person. In fact I am watching tony right now in singapore lol

    Heartburn?

What where you eating before you had surgery? Alot of fried foods or alot of acidic foods as tomato sauce? I am curious because I never had heartburn in years preop plus post op I dont have any signs yet. But in my case i didnt eat pizza, tomato sauces, fried foods, and other acid reflux foods being I got accustomed to my ex gfs problems with acid reflux. Just trying to figure out some causes and ways to prevent.

    Low Carb Cooking

I didnt run across that one yet. I am going buy it right now. My wife and kid n I was discussing our new diet being I just got sleeved last friday. I dont plan on starving them but correcting their bad hi carb diets which I was guilty of before also. Nothing better than a complete family change so a variety in cookbooks sure do keep things interesting.

    Bk & Kfc.... Who Knew?

    Bk & Kfc.... Who Knew?

Doesnt kfc sell a grilled chicken patty themselves. I ate a patty sandwich a year or 2 ago that was great but now postop theres no way I can eat that much. That sandwich by itself would be 2-3 meals lol. But there is things from each fastfood restaurant that one can eat if really needed. (null)
  19. Goodluck. The pain is well worth the prize (null)
  20. Oh i cut them in half but theres no coating on them to hide the bitterness. Gross haha. I just been chilling in my king robe drinking lemonade watching andrew zimmerman eats food. My wife is going through my wls cookbooks and picking out things to eat for now on. Shes gonna make a chicken n mushroom Soup tonight so I can have the broth. I jump her yesterday for eating pizza because she needs to change also in order to help the entire family. About to get my fat ass up and go buy a jack lalane juicer for me some fresh lemonade and lime aides. I feel great, but I know recovery is the main focus at this point. Btw Betancourt is about to remodel the clinic. I saw the design plans. Hes a salesman but thats his role to keep everything going and with the amount of people on his pay role I understand why. And the red cross unit is a block over. I saw it with my own eyes just for the future readers. I have lost over 30lbs so far cant wait to see week by week progress. My wife is going to do a scrap book. I learned alot from one of the patients husbands which had the sleeve in june '10. He looked identical to me and now hes 185lbs and skinny. It nice to actually meet with someone that can show you the light lol. Have a good day yall. Its only down hill from here. My pain right now is ZERO (null)
  21. Pookie. I did my preop without and didnt find that I needed them to overcome my stomach hunger. Now post op. who cares about eating. I am going to take this opportunity to eat the best that I can while saving tons of money on foods (null)
  22. The thought of losing my license was my breaking point also. I know what you mean all to well RoyBoy But as of this morning I am down to 296lbs. I feel better as I can take bigger swigs of lemonade. The cipro is nasty. Hunger- haha whats that?. My only knitpick is that I should have covered my stitches while traveling due to my shirt irritating them. I got home last night and sprayed them with wound wash and blotted them with a gauze pad to dry them and woke up this morning they are fine. Cant wait for them to come out because then I will be 100%fine. Goodluck future Sleevers The 3 days of discomfort and pain is well worth the outcome. (null)
  23. In dallas drinking lemonade. 2 sips per 3 minutes. Feels like a brick going down but thats a whole lot better than yesterday lol. Thanks for the prayers and feedback. The other people are doing fine when we left. Dont be scared. I was never in an intimidated state. Its better to bring someone with you so they can run to the store and get some trix popcicle from the store on the corner. (null)
  24. Ok today is the 20th. Upon wakening after surgery they put me in a room by myself. I got quite a few iv bags and some nausea meds along with some pain killers that didnt help much. I ended up picking up both of my legs by bending at the knees which helped the cramping. The next morning we all got another Iv bag with meds and headed to the hotel. I slept all day. Got up at 5pm to head back to the clinic for an iv bag. After that some of the others looked better. at this point I have only been having diaphram pains and spit globs of bubbles. They gave us some tiny sleeping pills to take also a bottle of blue dye. Then we headed back to the hotel for the night. The master suite is nice and roomy. Next morning we get up at 815 headed to the radiology clinica and drank a clear liquid barium to check for leaks. No one had leaks. We all had to pay 20 bucks for the xray but thats fine. Then we headed back to the hotel. Later that afternoon we went to the recovery house and got our IVs removed along with our drains. How nice and relieved to much cramping. Now i feel 90% better just alittle sore. Its monday and I feel great. About to head home. Whoever Said this place is a joke must be out their mind. (null)
