PreOp Liquid Diet KILLING ME!!!
Capt Derel replied to JesseW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As far as 1200 calories a day. 2 17oz EAS myoplex 300 calories each. Add a meal like crab au gratin 440 calories or a 80/20 4oz hamburger plus cheese, lettuce, tomato with no bread 380 calories. Its not that hard to get it in theoretically. Can I? No way. My max is 800 calories and most of the time its lower. Dont beat yourself up on your prediet. Cause postop. food haha your gonna quit wanting to cook. To me its a useless waste of time to eat. I know that I must so i do but do I ever want to? No way. I havent been hungry since Feb15th, 2012 lol They are going to conform to the new you one way or the other. Trust me on this. -
PreOp Liquid Diet KILLING ME!!!
Capt Derel replied to JesseW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She didnt like any of the slimfasts unfortunately. The atkins shakes arent to bad. Its better if you have a sams or costco membership because bulk is a little cheaper. Plus when purchasing shakes...CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE... I bought a 4pk and they were like pudding. Grossed me out. Soups are homemade. Thats pretty much the best way to get the best quality. They have a few good recipes online. One batch lasts awhile..well for me now everything lasts forever -
Like me. I have 2 cases of Isopure and a few cases of fruit2o and a few other cases of assorted water, a few cases of chicken broth. I have a stock pile lol. Luckily I have kids
-
Well to some it is unfortunately. Lots want to be the center of attention. I have noticed this. Especially amongst sisters. I dont have anyone to compete with which sux for me cause I could use some extra incentive lol. I did this surgery for all the right reasons and along with that came all the wrong reasons. Imma put on my hater blockers

Losing Without Protein Drinks?
Capt Derel replied to Cherrybomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the 42g EAS Myoplex and I also use the Advantedge 17g ones. All the rest that I have tried vary from ok to nasty. EAS ones are the best ones for me. I tried the strawberry one but I couldnt handle it. I will retry at a later date -
PreOp Liquid Diet KILLING ME!!!
Capt Derel replied to JesseW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My wife tried the slim fast drinks. She said there gross. I use EAS advantcarb and Promasil Protein shakes. Find a shake that you can handle first. Another thing is Soups will help. Like Tomato basil and cream Soup. And dont forget about the 3 days of clears. For clears I did chinese takeout soups and I tried Isopure but thats gross. After surgery Water, apple juice, crystal lite was the main things but SF popcicles was my savior. The main thing is how much to you enjoy food? After this is done everything changes. My mind changed for sure. I use to enjoy eating out and trying out new things now its just sucks. I can make a health concious salad eating woman go mad on the amount of food I eat compared to them. 3 forks and done. Makes them feel like they are pigging out lol. I say do it for weightloss. Food isnt a nessesity in my book anymore. But remember there will be a trade off. Your gonna trade food for something else. In my case fishing thank god. Just think I am 5'9" and 267 right now. I already lost 63lbs in 2 months and I did my surgery in Mexico with no complications to report other than a rash that came and gone @ 1 month out "I dont know if it was related or not, doc said it was just contact dermititus". Goodluck on your venture. Nikes logo is "Just do it" -

Capt Derel replied to time4menow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I waste more food now in 2 months than my whole lifetime pre op. poor kids in somalia. Fish fish crabs and more fish and lastly cheese. I can careless about anything else and I crave zilch and hunger is zilch. Its still astounding as to how the weight flies off. 63lbs here at 2 months 1 day -
Having A Hard Time With Easter Candy In The House
Capt Derel replied to Michelle Wolfe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mom bought my son some assorted cheese and sausages since he couldnt have candy. But she still bought him some candy anyways. I bought him a wifi usb card instead and my little girl a bedroom set. But I did buy them some snocones. Thats a little like candy I guess -

Capt Derel replied to shavone25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second that ^ When I was at your stage I threw up alot. Some days I could tolerate a product other days I couldnt. Water sucked, apple juice was gold. Apple sauce, Soups, eggs= toilet for me. I havent tried them again yet. I chocolate proteined it out. Now I might throw up once every few days due to trying new things -

Need Strategies To Deal With 'one Too Many Bites' Syndrome
Capt Derel replied to want2bthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good lord baby utensils. I am almost 2 months out and I use regular utensils. I do chew pretty good but I really dont eat dense foods. I can understand baby utensils if your 2-3 weeks out. -
Need Strategies To Deal With 'one Too Many Bites' Syndrome
Capt Derel replied to want2bthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me my gen rule is 3 fork fulls and I am done. Sometimes if I wait awhile I can slide 2 more in but is it worth it to me. Ummm no way. I found my spot very fast. I have a very responsive gag reflex and had it before my op. So my rule of thumb is 3 spoonfulls or fork fulls. And thats it, completely done. -
How To Break My Stall
Capt Derel replied to ButterflyGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Check out my weekly stats. The plateaus that I had was broken by raising carbs but I never went over 90g. Notice how many calories I take in total. No junk food. I go out of my way to use quality Protein. Ahi tuna, salmon, crabmeat and hamburgers lol. I cant handle pork at all. I am just showing yall what has worked for me thus far. I have been noticing alot losing slowly. Something they are eating is hindering the fatloss and most importantly the death of the fat cells themselves. -
My first experience eating out was @ 6 weeks postop. I ordered Chorizo and white queso dip. I ate 3 bites and done. Pre op I would have demolished it. The owner even came to my table and asked if I didnt like it. I showed him my scars and told him what was up. He came alive because so many of his family members had it done also.

You wont be saying that for long. LoL. Trust me. Hunger flies right out the window

How To Break My Stall
Capt Derel replied to ButterflyGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok its been 2 weeks. In my little experiment by ramping carbs has worked to break through plateaus. Thanks to all the professional bodybuilding books I read that inspired me to try just that. Right now I weigh 267. When I posted the first reply I was at 282ish. LoL The human body is the most complex organism because of its ability to rapidly adapt to changing situations. So when I read "The stubborn fat solution by Lyle Mcdonald" it kind of shed a new light on the science behind fat. Its worth the read. I am including a pic of a fat loss protocol. It mentions caffeine but its just an option. Btw I drink a EAS MYOPLEX 42g Protein drink every morning. I am never hungry but thats just me. -
I did a search and pulled up nothing. I was doing what I do best "Researching" and I ran across What Yohimbe actually does to the body. Interesting read. If anyone got anything to add on this subject please feel free to comment. I am all ears.

Two Month Mark.. How Are You Doing?
Capt Derel replied to Jlo77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Come on Doot. Your gonna have to change it up. I am very random on what I eat but i cant even get close to 1000 calories. Myfitnesspal tells it all for me lol Notice the highest days. Thats when I refresh my carbs. I do things randomly because when I stayed on a constant routine my stall hit me. As soon as I went random it started falling again -
I think that I am one of the lucky ones thats been sleeved. I have no heartburn, constipation problems, gas problems, pain, or anything else. I would just give it a couple more days. If still nothing take it. My doc asked me if I went on day 10. I chuckled and said "if I ate something I am sure I would have went by now but on straight liquids theres not really nothing to discharge" and she said yeah I can see your point lol
