    In Pain....help

I had it when I started eating "solid" foods. One night I had to knock myself out with Tyenol 3s to get to sleep.............LOL I agree with the previous posters...........chew..........chew.........chew
  3. I had my surgery at the OCC and if I remember correctly, they give you lots of stuff for pain and gas. I think most people have more problems with gas than pain, because the incisions are so small.
  4. Dr. Ortiz's operation is as safe as safe can be! You are "cocooned" from the time they pick you up in San Diego untill they drop you back off at the airport. I have seen more crime here at home (and I'm from CANADA) then I did when I was in Mexico.
  5. I'm going to take the other side of this discussion. I had my surgery in Mexico and it was FIRST CLASS all the way! One thing that I didn't do and I would advise anyone considering travelling for their surgery, is set up a fill doctor first. They are easy to find and the surgery clinic will give you lots of options..............BUT...... The good news is, I saved over $10k and that is taking into account flights and hotels. So there is the other side of the coin for you to consider
  6. Hello All, I was banded on November 30, 2011 and my first fill is scheduled for January 26, 2012. If I had any restriction, and I don't know what was actual restriction and what was in my head, I haven't felt it for about 3 weeks and can probably eat as much now as I could before surgery (I try not to! ). If I don't chew well or get distracted, food will get stuck. So my question is this:- If food (bread mainly) gets stuck, does that mean there is "restriction"? Or, is food getting stuck and "restriction" two separate things? Thanks everyone for your anticipated responses. Colin
  7. I was banded on November 30, 2011 and have lost a total of 40 lbs but I have recently gained about 4 lbs, due to the amount I am eating. I have very little or no restriction. My first fill is not until January 26, 2012 so I am just trying to "willpower" my way through.

    Gotta Quit Smoking...

With cutting food intake by 60% and not smoking I was a dream to live with 30 days prior to surgery.......LOL I stuck with it and have been off cigars for 2 months. Stick with it and get on to the patch as soon as you can. It really took the edge off for me. Good Luck!

    Surgery Tuesday Please Help

I think as long as you have planned ahead with the food they want you to eat there isn't more more to do than lie back and enjoy it! Good Luck!
  11. I had mine done by Dr. Ortiz as well.............$4,900 (all in..........hotel, transport from Airport etc)

  14. My story is the same as everyone else. Told about the "repair......no charge" when I woke up. My problem is, I can't figure out what is band pain and what is repair pain.
