    My Decision

My three best friends, my mom and husband. That's it. I like to lurk in the background, not be the center of attention. This kind of announcement would have waaaaaay too many people being up in my business. This forum is the one place where I feel like I can put it AAALLLL out there. And here is where it's staying! But that is a very personal decision for everyone. Not cowardly at all, either way!

    Last Meal...lol.

I was driving around yesterday and some sappy, mournful song was on the radio so I started feeling sad about my "last day" with food (liquids start today), so I changed the station and I ran into Motley Crue singing "SHE'S GOT THE LOOKS THAT KILLLLLL!!" And I instantly felt better!!! It's like that song was sent just for me!! hahahaha It's soooo worth it.

    Feeling Thankful

I just have to say...God is good. He's good when things are good and He's good when things are bad. He doesn't change. It's easy for me to be thankful right now because my life is like a freakin' fairy tale! (my biggest problem is that I'm fat. oh woo.) How did I deserve this life??? I didn't. God in His infinite grace and mercy has lavished it upon me. I have to say it gives me some uneasy feelings when I look at the misery around me. I almost feel guilty. My husband, my children and I enjoy relative good health. We have more food and "stuff" than anyone could ever need. It's not fancy, but there's a lot of it. I could go on for days about how blessed we are. And for that I say Thank You Lord!! (I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but it's my blog space;) On this forum, I've read about more than just surgery and weight loss. I've read about people. Real people with real lives. People who have lost the ones they love most to d.u.i., unexpected death in the family, house fires that have taken away not only possessions, but family as well, people who were abused as sweet little children and are now fighting their own bodies over it, people who put their faith, love and trust into a spouse and get nothing but venom and hatred in return. I've read about the pains and emotions that can go along with this surgery, and the possibility of being hospitalized for endless months with endless complications. I've read about people who are being rejected by friends or family because they've made the decision to become a healthier person. I've read about a LOT of pain. A lot of heartache. I hope and pray that if the terrible awfuls of this world befall me, I will still have the faith to say Thank you Lord! He is Good! I am thankful for my life and my salvation and I am praying for successful surgery and weight loss. And I have been/am/will be praying for every one of you. --danielle
  12. Like it was stated initially- research your own Doc and find comfort in that. Too many variables in this articles that are not put forth, so it is a good warning to do thorough research.
  13. Good girl!! (scale) I've heard people use the Isopure Protein drink at this point because it's clear. (right people?) I would think that would give strength. Also, I think a sugar free Powerade or something similar might help rebalance you? I do not yet speak from experience, but these are things I've read.

    In Need Of Support

I start liquids Monday. Not relishing the idea, but I know I can do it for 2 weeks standing on my head, because I was forced to do it for 3 months before. (Illness) It all depends on what motivates you. Personally, I am motivated by the fact that if I do NOT do the 2 week liquids, I will either get cut open like a fish or have the surgery canceled. That's not an option to me, so I will do it gladly and lap up every drop, num num num. Now, let's talk AFTER surgery: From what I've read on this forum, it's not too much of an issue. You've decreased your stomach size, and you've decrease your hunger hormone (grehlin). I've heard some say they are hungry after surgery, but most don't. I will be motivated to stick to liquids after the surgery because it will 1. Help me heal well and completely, decreasing the chance of developing a leak and 2. avoid unnecessary pain caused by eating too much too soon. If these things motivate you to stick to liquids when the time comes, then you will do fine. Just make sure you are committed to doing what you need to do to be successful. p.s....I've gained a few since I scheduled the surgery too....I think it's normal (ish)
  20. Are you using the Bari Essentials Dr. Kim sends out? I start on it Monday.

    S-L-E-E-V-E-D!

That is such good news that you had a great experience all around! Congratulations!
  22. OOhhhh...that's not cool. What a hack! The endoscopy should have been totally painless. In fact whatever happy drugs they gave me left me feeling quite good! An upper GI is not the most fun thing you can do, but really isn't that bad. My surgeon wanted those, but I'd had them done recently enough that he just sent for the reports.
