    Should We Postpone Vacation?

You will probably be fine, as the walking is good for you, BUT beeeee C A R E F U L!!!! I went to San Antonio a couple weeks out from my surgery, and almost blacked out at the Alamo!! I thought I was keeping up with liquids and Protein drinks, but my body's demand increased since I was more active and I did NOT keep up sufficiently. It was a little scary. My husband was in board meetings, so I was alone, and as I hurried back to the car at the Alamo, I envisioned myself passing out and waking up in a hospital. It's easy to neglect your own needs when you are traveling with children. This is my advice and warning to you. Seriously. Watch your fluids.
  2. It happens to everyone. You're doing just fine. Don't let them tell you different. We've aaallll been through it. Most of us will go through it again, and again! It's just your body adjusting and surviving and doing all the things it needs to do.

    I Have Been Sleeved!

It's ok- there's a list of them if you go up top to the Forum button and hover over it, and click on "Forums Home." Once you're there, scroll AAALLLL the way down to the bottom and you'll see some teeny tiny words and one of them will say "Moderating Team." click on that, and it should show all the people who know more about this website than I do.

Weird! NO, you don't have to pay! I'm not sure why you don't see them. Ask one of the moderators maybe?

Everyone's page you go to should have three buttons across the top: Add as friend, Send me a Message, and Find Content. The find content button will show you everything they've commented on. These are really the only buttons I've used to follow anyone. There could be another I'm missing...

    Not Eating Enough

Ya, I was obsessively logging food. I felt like I needed to log the dust I was breathing in. So , I'm giving that a break. I think i need to get rid of more carbs or something. I think they actually make you more hungry. Oh, and...if you ever get too full...you'll know it! I get an instant headache, and I feel like I'm going to throw up, but i never have. (not since the hospital.) I got that from drinking a Protein shake too fast even! It's a baaadd feeling. bleh.

    Not Eating Enough

Oh my gosh!! I've hit this point where my stomach is growling all the time!! Literally growling! Not just head hunger either. Sometimes I feel like I haven't eaten in a week, then I can hold a good 4-6 ounces. This is getting scary. I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow. I was around 800 calories, but that started not quite doing it.

    I Might Be "jumping Ship"

You will LOVE Forest Park. FIrst hospital I didn't want to leave!!
  12. I thought I was having head hunger, but once my stomach is full, I don't care anymore. Problem is....my stomach starts growling again way sooner than it should! Especially before bed time. Maybe if I figure out your head hunger, you can figure out my stomach hunger! OK.....I've got my thinking cap on.....

That's It, I'm Divorcing My Imagination.

OH shoot, my emotions were AAALLL over the place before surgery!! Once it was done I calmed right down. I just made some fabulous soup tonight, so worry not about your culinary abilities. I've actually become MORE interested in cooking now. Weird. I want to make stuffed pork chops like Buddy Valastro! He made 'em look soooo good. By the way...please head straight to the e.r. for an MRI. I believe there is a problem with your head. You mentioned wanting to rock climb. Please let me know the results of the test. I'm worried now. :s
  14. I've heard over and over about bypass pouches stretching back out and people regaining weight. The thing that made me love this option (sleeve) is that the full stretching can't happen. The stretchy fundus of the stomach is removed leaving the firm part that won't stretch like that. Over time, your capacity will go to about 6 oz of food, roughly, but that's still not much compared to a whole stomach! I was told that you can count on losing 80% of your weight "overage" with the sleeve, BUT--many people have exceeded that! I still have the dream of getting back down to 140. That would be a loss of 200 lbs. for me. It's not entirely impossible, but I'd be over the moon happy at 160. The sleeve is a tool. And from what I've seen, a good one. I could not stand the thought of having everything cut here and reconnected there....just freaked me out. This is simple and clean. That said...do what you and your doc think is best for your bod! I willlllll shut up now!

    I Have Been Sleeved!

Congratulations!! Welcome to the losers bench! (EVERYONE SCOOT DOWN!) Walk and drink, walk and drink! Then reward yourself with a nap!!
  16. I threw up for the first 24 hours immediately after my surgery, and my surgeon assured me i didn't hurt anything. The scan the following week confirmed it. I doubt this far out you've done anything to hurt the repair. That said...I have NO idea what that ball feeling could be. Maybe someone has had that sensation around here?

    Sex

Mine said two weeks. I don't think some cowgirl action would hurt though. (If you feel well enough, that is...)
  18. Ok folks- I'm going to expose my inner nerd a little here, so don't go telling anyone that I'm not as cool as all that, ok? I finally broke the 300 lb. barrier and am soooo excited to be in the 200s again. Ok, I'm only at 296, but that counts. So as I lift my eyes to look across the span of the next 100 lbs, I'm feeling a little like Frodo when he and Sam finally get into Mordor and look across to Mount Doom. (After all the spider trauma, of course;) ) All they see is a vast wasteland filled with threatening foes waiting to take them down. But, on the other side....Frodo knows that freedom from the burden chained around his neck awaits. I know the freedom from this weight is coming. It just looks so daunting right now. Such a loooooong.....rocky....journey. But I'm ready. I know it's not magic, and it's going to take hard work. But when I get there, the relief will be soooooooo SWEET!!!!! I can't wait to cast it into the fire!! Nerd moment over. Carry on.
  19. Hmm ! That's interesting!
  20. WOOO HOOOOO!!!! GOOD JOB!!!
  21. 70 and sunny. Yeahhhh babeee!!!

  22. Don't spend too much time fretting over it though. I know you're in a very emotionally vulnerable time period right now, so everything is very worrisome. Leaks are few and far between, so just keep following orders on your food progression, and take a load off. Relax and enjoy the ride.
  23. Typically, if complications arise, it's between weeks 4 and 6, so at 6 weeks if there are no problems, you get the go ahead to resume physical activity. ( this is according to MY surgeon's office. Others may be different.) Ask MeMeMEEE (above) about late leaks. She can tell you her story. I have lost 44 lbs. so far.
  24. 6 weeks Monday, and feeling great! You'll have a lot of odd and worrisome pains. It comes with the territory. That is not to say you shouldn't pay attention if it gets too bad. Ya, since I was totally NPO after surgery, I had this "gunk" that kept building up in my throat and it would gag me when I'd fall asleep, then wake up and swallow. Bleh. Makes me wanna ralph just thinking about it. (shudder)
