Hey, I love the fancy French store as much as the next guy, but their begrudging attitude toward carrying plus sizes has always annoyed me. They had some for a while, and now they're down to like what Soon2BMiniMommy said- could fit in the back of my Suburban. A couple of teeeeeeeny tiny racks. NOw....surely, I will not always NEED to buy plus sizes (Lord willing) But I can't just abandon my girls who still need it! BAD Target. BAD!!!

So, I'm out getting my son some flip flops at Target (because I know they ALWAYS put them out in the winter for some weird reason!!) and I decided to pick up some workout shorts, because it's warming up here in the high desert and the Y has sealed windows, and they're cheap with the air conditioner. SO...I go to ask the lady at the fitting room-- "I notice they've redone the store- where has the plus sized clothing moved to I can't seem to find it." She says, "I'll come show you. Right here (pointing to a TEENY TINY rack) is some and one rack over here (small also) and over on that back wall there is a section." (the back wall section was approximately 4 feet long.) Mind you there is a SEA of clothing in this store. ACRES!! I guess all of their Isaac Mizrahis and fancy boy execs have decided that we are far too repulsive to spend money in their stores!!! Well guess what????? If I'm not good enough to waste space in their store buying plus sizes, I surely won't inconvenience them when it's time to buy AAALLLLLL new clothes!!!!! SO THERE!!! THIS IS FOR THEM: :P :P :P

guest.relations@target.com It took me forever to even get THAT info. I found a web page that had a comment box with 500 characters max. So I had to CALL to get the email address where I could vent more than that!

135 down. Wow, I can't wait for that!! It's amazing how much life gets easier with even 40 or 50 pounds! I stalled right when I got to 300. I was to excited to get to the 200s, and BAM Stall out. We shall persevere!!

Dr. Nicholson - Forest Park
Dooter replied to Sap Soon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was at Forest Park as well. My surgeon is Dr. Kim, so I can't tell you anything about Dr. Nicholson, but I CAN tell you that F.P. is an AWESOME hospital! I was at the VERY end of the hallway, but that did not stop the constant flow of attention I got. They ALWAYS answer the call button within...seconds, and the rooms are huge, and the bathroom is huge, and it has a shower. I got the princess treatment there. I've heard Dr. Nick is great too! -
That's riiiight I remember now. I'm glad you did wait! You can better take care of yourself now.

2/13 here. I am doing well. Maybe TOO well. If "sleeve of steel" wasn't taken already, I think I'd change my name here! Unfortunately, NOTHING bothers my stomach except those rotten chewable vitamins from Bariatric Advantage. My capacity increased way too quickly for my liking. I am hungry all the time unless i've JUST eaten, so I have to be super duper careful. I too wanted fast and thrilling, since I started at 340. I think I've lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 if you count some pre op diet pounds. My scale is acting weird, and the scale at the gym says I've lost more than the one at home. I've only lost about 4 pounds in the last month, according to my wonky home scale. I go to the gym 3 times a week and do cardio and weight lifting. (Maybe I'm gaining muscle?) So....anyway....doing well. I'm just very very impatient.

Flame Free Friday Confessions!
Dooter replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OOOHHHHHHH i wonder if that's what's been making me so darned HUNGRY!!!! UHH DOYYYY -
You'll do great. The motivation to stay on the liquids once you get there is this: If you don't- the surgeon could cancel your surgery if he sees conditions are not right- or- he could convert to an open incision surgery. NO THANKS! I did not take ONE sip or bite of ANYthing I was not supposed to. You can do a LOT more than you think you can. Trust me!
-
Naaahhhh you'll get there. Don't worry. You only have one chance to heal. Do it right! Don't push yourself. The time flies by and you'll be chewing away before you know it!

I'd be putting that stuff in the blender. Sounds a little much for you yet, texture-wise.

Eating Is A Chore Now!
Dooter replied to Sleevorama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oooohhh I know those pickles are delicious!! I was not allowed something that solid at three weeks. I'm hitting 7 weeks on Monday, and I just had pickles in this last week or so. I'd try not to eat the skin if I were you. That's the part that would be bad I think. I don't know what rules you've been given though. I was VERY excited about the pickles!! -
Don't be shy with those pain meds honey!! They help more than you realize sometimes!
-
Yup. I could have written that same post when I was on pre op liquids. I lost 15 in that two weeks. My husband said "well, don't hit me or anything, but why couldn't you keep doing this instead of having the surgery?" I just had no words to answer him. Someone on here said it perfectly: "Can you hold your breath for one minute? Sure. Can you hold it for the rest of your life???"
-
Oh barf!! I have the Bariatric Advantage chewables, and I just absolutely cannot take those things. I finally went and got some pre natal gummies, just so I'd have something to suffice for now. I'm sure I'll have to find a more 'quality' Vitamin in the future, but I refuse to use the rest of those BA Vitamins. They'd make me sick for an hour. BLECH. I'm not usually such a baby about stuff either!

6 Weeks, Stomach Hunger Pains Or Acid?
Dooter replied to ToddG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow!! I have totally been going through the same thing!! My surgery was on 2/13. Sounds like the same day as yours, as Monday is also my seven week mark. For a week or so now I have been downright HUNGRY!! I get that gnawing sensation after any food has left my stomach. At night is the WORST! If I was smart, I'd go to bed earlier, because it just drives me nuts. I've heard it said that it takes a good couple of months to get the grehlin hunger hormone out of your system. I sure hope that's true. I know mine is not acid, since i've been taking stuff for that for the better part of 25 years. I'm more than familiar with what acid feels like. Way too familiar. This is hunger, NO doubt. -
I hate those dreams when you're trying to beat up the bad guy or thing or whatever it is, and your blows land like a kitten paw. So frustrating. I've always had super freaky dreams all my life too. About once a year I have a dream so bad it takes me the whole day to shake it off. Thank God it's not more often!

Hey all- Ok...I have an issue that I need to figure out. Right at three weeks I hit a stall just like I expected. I knew it was coming and I was gonna kick its butt!! Well, two weeks and one day later, there's no kicking. Only stalling. Well, I can deal with that I suppose, because I know this HAS to work. I'm eating between 600- 800 calories a day, and it's all light, low fat, sugar free and I have my Proteins first. I'm pretty confident that I'm eating right. I also go to the gym three times a week. I need to work on walking on the off days, and drinking more. That aside...I think logging my food every day on My Fitness Pal is putting me in a downward spiral of despair. I can SEE that I'm doing everything right and still the scale's not moving. I think i need to take a step back from the scale and from the food logging for a while. I know it's a valuable tool, but I think it's doing more harm than good right now. To be clear...I know I'm doing all the right things. I know the stall will break. I just need advice on whether to stop logging every microbe that enters my mouth right now. I feel the need to log the dust I inhale. I feel legally bound to log food. Can I stop for a while???
