  1. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Gal. 6:9 (A little out of context, but still a fitting point:)

  2. You're at six weeks already?!?!? Man, that went FAST!
  3. I forget myself when I drink. I'll start gulping, then stand there frozen, waiting for the pain to hit......
  4. At 3.5 weeks, I think I was on blender foods. I would wait at least a minute between bites, because it's REALLY easy to overdo it. Try to weigh your food as often as you can. You need to get used to what 2, 4 and 6 oz. looks like. (for example) You should be aiming for no more than 4 oz. right now. As for liquid, you can't exactly chug, but you should be able to take sips pretty close together by now. At least that was my experience. (Disclaimer- Always take your docs advice if it is different than what we may say on here)

    Where Are You 200+Er's?

It'll happen before you know it! When the food world opens back up, you feel like a kid in a candy store. You make all these big plans for what you want to try, then you realize...this is all going to go bad before I can eat it all!! haha! My whole first week was clear liquid, so the second week I got to add Protein Shakes and strained, cream Soups. Did that for 2 weeks, then blender food for 2 more. Every doc seems to be just a little different though. Hang in there!!

    Where Are You 200+Er's?

Wow!! 5'10"?!? That's awesome! I used to be 5'6", but now I measure 5'5". Someone on here said that they lost weight and got an inch back! I'm hoping to also. If I were 8'2" I'd be the perfect weight right now!! Realistically, I'd be really happy at 180, but the greedy side of me wants 140. hehe We'll see.
  9. OOHHH Food is stupid and it holds you captive!! I hate it!!! And I love it. It's made me feel good and it's made me feel bad. More often than not, it's made me feel bad. I'm SICK OF IT!!! I just wanted to get to the point where food is just something that keeps me alive, and I'm almost to that point. You need to get there with me!! See the future. Don't see what you can't eat now. See how you will feel and look. While you're sitting with your family eating your dainty little portion of food, you can feel superior to those who are gorging out and are going to feel horrible later! (evil laugh here...) Once you can start eating food again (It WILL happen, I promise!) You can enjoy most of the things you did before, just in much smaller quantities. (And in low fat, sugar free versions. You can still taste delicious things. You just can't dive headfirst into the bowl. You can do it! WE can do it!!
  10. Good workout. Feeling good!!!

    Where Are You 200+Er's?

I started at 340 and would also like to get back to 140-160 range. We'll see, I guess!!! I've seen people on here do miraculous things! Sounds like you're doing great! Don't be disappointed if you are not down much your first week. It's not expected that you are down much. There is still much surgical swelling and retention, so don't freak out if you're not down. You may "feel" it though. Good walking, keep it up!

This May Be A Dumb Question

Just remember: There are no dumb questions- only dumb people. hahaha sorry, couldn't resist! It's not a dumb question. 2b is correct. The old stomach goes by way of the medical waste pile out back!! (boy I'm a riot tonight!)

    Craving Chocolate ...help

The other day, I did something B. A. D.!! I had a bit of a chocolate craving, so I was going to get one of those tiny Lindor truffle balls, but I couldn't find them, so I got a Cadbury chocolate egg. I thought I'd put my sleeve to the test. Just see where I am with this kind of thing. (risky, I know...) So, I nibbled on it for about five minutes. Finally choked it all down. Nothing. Nada. Zero. I felt FINE. (DARN IT) BUT......It tasted weird!! It did not taste like I remember chocolate tasting. There was a day I could have knocked back about 5 of those. That one did the trick for sure. I don't think I will bother again for a long time. Anyway...I don't think it killed me. It just won't be a habit. Next time I'll go for the Protein bar!

    Where Are You 200+Er's?

I constantly wonder if I can REALLY really lose 200 pounds, or if I have to "settle" for less. You are my living proof!!

    Sauna !?

It should be fine. You should be drinking 64 oz. of water on a regular day, so just add more to that on a day you've been in a sauna, or exercising, or if it's particularly hot outside. This is what you will have to get used to doing anyway when you're post-op. Must keep fluid levels up.
  22. Now THAT sounds more like it!!
  23. Oh dear. That's worrisome. I'm still only 42, but i fear for the future. I have a hard time pushing the liquids. Yikes!

Could Very Sore Muscles Mean Protein Deficiency?

I had to laugh when I read the title of your post, because my first thought was "my very sore muscles meant my body was in shock!!" LOL
