You are reeeeally early to be eating beef. At 3 weeks I was still on protein shakes and creamed soups. I don't know what plan you've been given, so I'm not saying you're breaking the rules or anything, but it's not a real wonder that you feel bad. Once that happens it usually subsides in a half an hour, (for me, anyway). There's not much you can do to speed it up either. I agree that lying down would be bad. I hope you feel better soon. Do NOT drink anything until you can tell the food has cleared out, or you will go from bad to worse.

How Can You Tell When Youre Full?

Of course in the full liquid phase, you're not going to get a lot of full feelings. That will come with blended foods more. -
How Can You Tell When Youre Full?
Dooter replied to jmatt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's kinda weird- i could not tell when I was full either, then I realized that whenever I got full, I would get this strange pressure....behind my EYES. Very weird, I know, but it is still consistent. If I get too too full I get the eye pressure AND an instant headache. Other than that, I just get an "uncomfortable" feeling in my stomach region. I know....not very helpful, but we all have different and strange reactions to this surgery. -
Leak 3 Months Out?
Dooter replied to readytobeslimxoxox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most people that have a leak at 3 months or more have had it since the early weeks and it is discovered later. This is a very very very low chance of happening. (Of course for the person who HAS the leak it is 100%, right?) Be confident in your surgeon's leak record. That's what kept me calm. There are symptoms that accompany most leaks, so an undetected leak is an even slimmer chance. I was also told that the major leak zone is in the 4-6 week range. -
I Wish Someone Had Told Me....
Dooter replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not everyone gets all this stuff. I did not have a tube, I have never once "slimed" and my stomach does not make any noises that anyone else can hear. Everyone has a different assortment of all the things you hear about. None of it is 100% sure of having them. No worries!! -
Hair Loss-Why Doesn't Anyone Talk About It?
Dooter replied to buckeyefan1985's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yep. I'm at 3 1/2 months, and it has just started coming out in handfuls. BUT everyone says it grows back. I lost a lot when I started menopause, and it grew back then too. I am confident that it will. And the bonus is....it will probably grow back in curly! Woo Hoo! -
Made To Onederland... Finally!
Dooter replied to BluebonnetMagonlia's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
YAAAAAY Good job!!!!! Congratulations!! -
It was kinda nasty but I really needed it because of the hernia repair. It was quite painful, so I took every drop of two whole bottles for two weeks. You may not need much or any. I used low sugar apple or grape juice as a chaser. That helped a LOT.

Malabsorption Cramping?
Dooter replied to Almostthere34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya, I think a lot of this is her own personal experience, which is real for her, but I have not had any of the issues she speaks of. Muscle cramping can happen to anyone on the planet if they are dehydrated. My husband gets that in his legs when he doesn't drink enough. (He's a skinny boy...). I would not worry about any of it. If you follow orders, you should be fine. -
Malabsorption Cramping?
Dooter replied to Almostthere34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only 3 minutes into this video, but right off, my hackles are up because she's lumping sleevers in with bypass patients with deficiencies and other issues. My Vitamin D levels were down PRE op. Since my surgery (3 1/2 months) I've been really bad about getting my Vitamins in, but I'm eating SOOO much better now, that I do NOT have any vitamin deficiencies whatsoever. I did get some good vitamins from my cardiologist that I can stomach and have been good about taking them for the last 2 weeks, so I feel even better. The typical diet any of us were on was sooo lacking in nutrition, that most of us were overweight and malnourished- if that makes any sense....anyway...I'm going to watch the rest of the video now. Oh ya-- I do not have any cramping issues, to answer your original question..... (I say all of this in good spirit, not angry or anything ) I also believe she is mistaken about where most of the nutrients are absorbed. I've always heard that most nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine. -
Drinking Before, After And During Meals?
Dooter replied to Debvzw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually drink right up until I start eating with no problem. then I stop. I accidentally took a drink after I ate one time, and figured out EXACTLY why we're not supposed to do that. There was no room for liquid and it caused great pain and discomfort and I almost hurled. I can't believe I didn't. When you're stomach is that small.... you don't need to crowd out the food. I now watch the clock carefully before i drink. -
Three and a half months out and I jus had about 3 oz of red wine the other day and bloated like a christmas turkey! Had to push liquids the next day. Didn't feel too great.

2 Weeks Post-Op: I Really Want Coffee
Dooter replied to trojanchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first two questions were: how much does it cost and can I still have coffee? They said one cup a day after I return home is just fine. Sometimes I have two. For me the caffeine ban was only pre op so as not to have withdrawals while trying to recover from surgery. My surgeon is really conservative all the way around, so i trust his judgement on this. -
I am TOTALLY the opposite. I only run when chased, but the elliptical is my friend. It was hard at first, but now I do 25- 30 minutes. Hoping to break that wall soon.

Hey, I was looking at your profile and we are very similar in starting height and weight and goal weight. It's always good to watch someone just ahead of you that is similar, so you can kind of see how things go.

Ice cream is a myth. It doesn't exist. Neither do cookies. I saw this show called Ice Cream Hunters International.....but you know....they have never proven its existence. Might as well forget about it.
