That's awesome!!!

Yikes. I love those too, but I've gotten to where I refuse to give up the calories for it. I'm looking for the most filling protein for the calories. I'm trying hard to stick to 800 calories, so I need volume!

June 21St! 250 Pounds?
Dooter replied to Angie_musgrave's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HA!! I sure hope so!! I started at 349! I am down to 285 so far in close to 4 months. I think you will do fantastically. "They" say you should only lose a certain percentage of your overage in weight, but I've seen people on this site get down as far as they wanted. -

Wishes, you ARE about to starve to death! BTW, what's a "fitbit calorie adjustment?" I've seen that on a few peoples' diaries.... -

Oh, and everyday when you complete your food log- It WILL tell you that you're starving to death. Just ignore that. -

You have to manually adjust your goals to what your doctor said you should be taking in. For instance I'm supposed to be around 800 calories, 80 grams of protein, and 80 or less of carbohydrates (the less the better for me) and so on.. so when you set your goals choose the manual entry option. you can adjust everything however you need to. And you can choose what elements it tracks every day. (calories, fat, carbs, calcium, protein, etc.) It's a great thing to use to keep you on track. -
I saw that!!! That's crazy!!! I did 40 minutes yesterday (for the first time!) and only burned half of what you did! Way to go!!! Doesn't it feel great?

...like Beating A Dead Horse... I Know
Dooter replied to SicChl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start plugging EVERY bite in to My Fitness Pal. Put it all out in black and white and you will be amazed at how much you're taking in. It's so easy to breathe 50 calories worth of particles out of the air!! HAHAHA. Bring your calories down and start logging. People who use a tracking system tend to stay on track better. (You may do this already, I don't know, but it sure helps me when I feel out of control.) -
Cold Cold Cold Feet
Dooter replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OH gravy, I was so nervous, I was obsessing about the whole thing. I LIVED on this website looking for...I don't know what....to ease my mind. I was sure I would die or have a leak or have to spend the next 3 months in the hospital, knowing that I have a family to take care of... I thought of ALL the worst things I could. I just had to focus on the fact that my surgeon has an outstanding success rate (very low complication rate) and that God is in control, and if that's the way He wanted to take me out, there's not much I could've done about it! I don't know if that is a comfort to you, or not, but ....that's what did it for me. I love the permanence of this surgery. I know that I don't have to worry about bands slipping or something weird happening. No stretching like a bypass (minimal risk, anyway). I have new self-control thanks to the sleeve. Just watch your hubby go go go, and you will be excited to get on your way too! -
Sleeved 4-24-12 What Were/are You Eating And How Much?
Dooter replied to pinky62611's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm starting to think that's the case. I'm not really long or short waisted, but just about between. My doc uses an endoscope for sizing which is about a 34 bougie size, so it must be that my stomach is longer, is all I can figure -

Dark meat chicken actually has good Omega 3s that we need for our brain and it lowers cholesterol. I know it's more expensive, but try for organic too. -
Stalled At 3 Weeks?
Dooter replied to Preacher's Wife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just keep doing what you're doing and it WILL break. Don't let yourself slip into bad habits, or it won't break. It's frustrating, yes. Believe me, I had a LONG stall. It'll happen......It'll happen.... -

Ya, my capacity increased WAY faster than I wanted it too, but I'm steadily losing. I just get kinda hungry some days. -

Yes, that is true. It will increase a bit. That is when the real work starts! -
That is so cute!! That's great!! I asked my son the other day (the brutally honest 9 y.o.) if I look any different now, and he's was like "oh ya- like....WAY!"

Pre Op Size Vs Post Op Sizes
Dooter replied to chitowngirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My highest size pre op was 30, and I even had a couple of 32 tops. I now wear a 20! -

I think that amount is fairly typical. I think I was a freak in that sense. I did not have the post op swelling I was hoping for, so my capacity once I got on to blended foods quickly increased to 6 oz. At 6 weeks, I was easily eating six ounces. I'm at 4 months now and can eat 6 or 8 oz of anything non-protein, but when it comes to straight Protein like tuna or chicken- I can get maybe 3 or 4 oz down at once. Sometimes a little more. I think you're right on par. -

OK YOU NAUGHTY BOYS!! SHAPE IT UP!! Patrick- you're doing great! This is the hardest part. Once you're sleeved, things will get a lot easier to handle. During my 2 weeks pre op liquids, several people nearly had some ugly accidents at my hand. (and quit eating Mexicans, even if he WAS your favorite! ) Disneyteach- You be careful with that new sleeve!! You are only supposed to have a 6 oz capacity, so don't go bustin' it up! You are still in the danger zone. Don't go causing leaks and whatnot, k? I worry about my boys!! -
I Discovered My Krytonite
Dooter replied to FluffyBleu76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know- pasta always did that to me when I had a full-sized stomach! I always felt over full and just kinda bad. I haven't tried it and I'm 4 moths out almost, and... sounds like I might not. I've got some Quinoa pasta I might give a try one day. -
For the first time in my life, I can honestly say I did not do that, not even close. I soooo wanted my sleeve to heal perfectly, that I was not tempted in the least. After 42 years I finally learned that a little sacrifice today means great rewards tomorrow. From pre op liquid diet to the day I got to have blended food was 5 weeks. 5 of the hardest weeks I can remember, but totally worth it.
