We LOOOOOVE sushi!!! I'm 4 1/2 months out though. I can eat 5-7 rolls before I feel like i'm going to bust, so I try to stop at 5. But it's SOOO good! I eat the rice too because I get so much protein during the day, that the rice in 5 rolls doesn't amount to much at all. As long as I keep track on My Fitness Pal, it's all good!

The first week, (after a couple days) I started trying to do 4 oz every 15 minutes instead of 1 oz every 15 minutes because I wanted to get the drinking done, and I was able to do it with no discomfort. It didn't hurt a thing. I have healed very very well and can tolerate anything to this day. Now I try to get 20 oz down in an hour or two. I'm not a good drinker though.

All Sleevers Need To Make A Promise To......
Dooter replied to Addison's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey! a fellow dr. Kim patient! This is awesome, isn't it?? -
I'm an "addictical." (I love the elliptical) I try to go to the gym 5 days a week now. It IS easier hauling around less weight.... I get my feelings all hurt on days when things get in the way of gym time.

I think I tried salad and other raw veggies at about 2 1/2 or 3 months out. Noooo problemo. Then again, I have not run into a single food that give me trouble so.... there's that. Be sure you CHEWWW IT WELL!!!! Otherwise it can really give you a stomach ache. Start with like....ONE carrot or piece of tomato or something just to test the waters...

Feb Sleevers 2012 How Much Have You Loss/ Any Concerns
Dooter replied to andkel30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't even look at it in terms of stalling anymore. It's just something the body does to...readjust...recalibrate...whatever you want to call it. I've come to expect the lose, stall, bounce, lose even more...cycle. You eventually quit panicking over it. You're kicking 4$$ Capt D!!! (not four dollars, but you get it, ya? ) -
(I'VE ADDED PHOTOS IN A LATER POST....scroll down) Ok old timer pro sleevers or anyone else, really... did this ever happen to you?? I've lost 70 pounds, I've gone from a 30 to an 18/20 (tight, but i got them ON! ), I now fit in bathrooms stalls, airplane bathrooms, airplane seat belts, chairs at places I avoided because of...small chairs, I can reach my feet, feel my hip bones and rib bones, see my chin, cross my legs, reach stuff on the floor from a sitting position, walk up the stairs without getting winded, workout for an hour like it's nothing, get up from the floor without the aid of chairs or 8 strong sailors and a winch--and a plethora of other NSVs... BUT--(we all have a big BUT, don't we??) I CAN'T SEE IT IN THE MIRROR!!!! I see the same 349 lbs staring back at me. WHY oh WHY is my brain doing this to me??? Is this a normal part of the process?? Will it get better? I don't even think my before and after pics look drastically different. That has to be some sort of sickness.... lol

Why Won't My Brain Let Me See The Loss?
Dooter replied to Dooter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OK PEEPS- I stopped at AVENUE and tried on some clothes to see where I am. I am fitting into 18/20 in the second pic here. The straight 18s aren't quite fitting yet. NOW I can see it in the mirror.... -
Howdy! (waving) We'll tell ya what we know!

STOP IT!!!! (slap slap slap) You ok now?? That said...you probably didn't damage anything as long as you chewed the life out of it. Just don't do it again.... Now go put your big boy pants on and behave...

That was awesome! I had to laugh when I saw the title, because that's a song my husband has been singing around the house for YEARS!!! Probably since I've known him!! Good stuff...

Well, I didn't have to imagine. I used to be thin and not too bad looking. I LONGED for the changes that surgery would bring. Slowly but surely I feel like i'm returning to myself. I just never dreamed it would actually happen.

Sometimes it helps to go through the posts and respond to people who are coming up behind you and help them out with questions and comments, and that can be very fulfilling in itself. I know sometimes you personally need your posts responded to, and I believe most posts are responded to quite well from what I've seen. If you have really specific questions that need answering, just PM any one of us that you know have been around a while and we'd be happy to answer if we actually know the answer. I don't think anyone is ignoring you. It's all a matter of perception. Just keep participating and remember- "ya get what ya get, and ya don't throw a fit!" HAHAHA (just a little humor there...)

It will grow back. But i tell you what.... the other day, I cleaned out my round brush and it looked like I tried to drown a Yorkie in the toilet!! LOL It's totally worth it though. My doctor insists that getting enough Protein will prevent it, but I get quite a bit of protein, and it didn't seem to help. Everyone is different though.

Want Honest Immediate Post Surgery Opinions
Dooter replied to ShannonK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya, I'd get some help with meals for a couple weeks after you're home if I were you. One less thing to worry about. That was a HUGE blessing to me. You're not exactly an invalid, but you do need to take it easy for at least 2 weeks. Don't do laundry or fuss with the house. Get help. Just stoop down and ask for it. I had a lot of pain from the hernia repair. It was a doozy, and I knew it would be. It had been causing me trouble for a few years, so I was glad to get it fixed. I was on pain meds for 2 solid weeks because of it. That probably actually allowed me to function a little better. I get along really well with Vicodin. No heavy lifting for a while. I think you'll be fine after a week and a half, but you do need to enlist a couple of close friends (or your children!) to help with the day to day enslavements;) That said....it's true, everyone reacts differently to this surgery, but for the most part, you should be fine by then. -
Oh you betcha!! The caffeine detox alone endangered several lives!! I had a meltdown around day 10 from what I remember....then i've been ok ever since. Just went numb.
