    Popcorn

It's the one thing I'm a little afraid to try. I can tolerate any food i've eaten so far. When I eat dark berries, however, the seeds give me some minor irritation, but not bad. So...I'm a little hesitant about the little hulls in the popcorn. Also, I think I haven't bothered with it, because I'm so picky about every bite that goes in my mouth now. 800 calories isn't much to work with, so I make sure every bite is nutritionally sound. The popcorn would be too high in carbs and no protein, etc... Just sayin'...
  2. You need to go insist upon another leak test. The only time i've heard of such violent reactions on this board, is when there has been a leak or stricture involved. Not saying thats it's for sure, of course, but it really screams "problem." Have you consistently had a fever or pain in your left shoulder? The stricture also causes a lot of throwing up of even water. DEMAND tests. That's all I can say.

    Cheated On Preop Diet

You HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO Take in ALL of your shakes every day, or this will happen again. Keep yourself as full of the allotted protein shakes, your one meal, and all the clear liquids you can fit into yourself! Chicken broth, jello, sugar free drinks....suck on some sugar free hard candies if that will help you. Those were my big help during the pre op diet. If you can't take this protein you're on, then find one you can drink because you NEED it for success!! If your doc put you on this one specifically, then see if there is another one they can give you. I'm sure they will work with you.

    What Cant You Eat Now?

I have a sleeve of steel!! I have not encountered ANYTHING I cannot eat. That means I have to be VERY careful, lest I go crazy. I also have to be careful to keep my meals to no more than 1/2 cup total, even though my sleeve size (bougie used) is a 34, I can hold 8 oz at once. This is very opposite of what some on this forum will tell you. I was hoping for a little more difficulty eating!

  7. My breaking point??? Ok....you asked....... I couldn't reach my butt to wipe it!!!! That's it. Game over. Gotta do something drastic. Enough is enough. Couldn't be happier. I have not thrown up once since the hospital.
  8. Momentary, light affliction. Totally worth it. It gets better every day!

    Sharp Pain! Ouch

Do you have an appendix? That is located on the lower right, but the pain from it (oddly enough) is usually to the left....
  10. Hmmm....8 weeks.....ok I'm at 277, and I'd like to get to 255 and fit into my wedding dress. (22 lbs. Lofty goal, I know.....but I might do it!)

    July 4Th Challenge

Well, I lost 9 of the 10.9 I wanted to lose by today, and I DID achieve the 5 day/week workout schedule, so all in all I think this was a success! Sure, i missed the mark a little, but I really did all I humanly could to get there. Good job everyone. Brandymarie, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Praying for your comfort.

    Abs Exercise

Noooooooo. I do not believe you have to wait six months unless your doctor specifically told you to. I was cleared at 6 weeks for full activity. No limitations were placed or exceptions to that. He did say, "if it hurts, don't do it." Other than that....... I've been doing some ab stuff for a couple months now.
  15. Holy cow!!! I'd have to say I got one of the best surgeons in the U.S., and he only charged me $12,300 self pay. It must be different when they're billing insurance? I don't know. That seems like a lot. The hospital I was in was nicer than a luxury hotel!! Well, at least you didn't have to pay very much of it, which is good. Congratulations on getting one step further!

    Heatial Hernia

I had one, and I could not WAIT to get it repaired. This was the perfect opportunity, otherwise I probably would not have done it. It caused me much grief while I had it.
  18. See if you can make a consultation appt with a local surgeon. I think they might be able to better allay your fears...
  19. I should add- if you decide to do this, you need some way to know that what you are doing is working. I would suggest carefully logging your food and weighing it or measuring it somehow so you KNOW that you're following the rules, that way if your weight bounces around, it won't be because of your diet. Don't take the "i'm just going to live a normal life and not be on a diet" approach. There needs to be careful limitations during the "honeymoon" period.
  20. If you can accomplish that, it would be fabulous. I do not have the self control. I have to weigh every single day or I'm just not complete. I have developed an intimate knowledge of when and how much my weight will bounce up and down, so I am not distressed about it at all. There is a pattern. HOWEVER-- if you are not one that can handle the bounce....then you've got a good plan. I've seen several on here that only weigh at the doc.
  21. OH, AREN'T THOSE ABOUT THE WORST THING YOU'VE EVER PUT IN YOUR MOUTH???!!! I still feel like yakking just thinking about those things!! BLECH!! I gave them away. I ended up with some prenatal chewables to see me through until I could swallow something like normal.
  22. The vanilla is.... good. not great but good. Still better than most Protein shakes. I love the chocolate ones though. I agree, no butt taste. After trying many many brands, I've settled with these as my go to shakes.
