Protein Shake Brands That Are Recommended!
Dooter replied to Sandra_Baby87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Premier shakes from Costco or Sam's. Low in everything it needs to be low in, and 30 grams of protein and they taste really good compared to most low sugar protein drinks. After trying many, many, many brands, This is it for me. -

Dr. Oz On Tv Right Now Promoting Gastric Bipass Surgery
Dooter replied to NDN_RN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is an older quote from Dr. Oz. He's not my fave either, but i love this quote: So you're a proponent? (of WLS) "Yes. Listen, if you're one hundred pounds overweight at age fifty, you have the same mortality rate as if you have a solid cancer. Would you operate for cancer? Yeah. So if you cannot lose that weight, get one of these procedures. You have to do it with counseling and full awareness of what you're doing, of course. But if you get people to start losing 5% of their excess body weight, you're really taking a big whack out of the two-thirds of Americans who are overweight or obese right now." -

This must be the night for "Booth or Table" NSVs!! Hooray!! 7 months ago, I went to this pizza place here in Albuquerque, and the only place to sit was a teeny tiny booth for 2. I reluctantly sat there with my husband, and I had to SQUUUEEEEEEZE myself into it, and then it was hard to eat because the table was pressing me in half and I was hanging out in the aisle. I cried in frustration and embarrassment. I told him at the time I was going to come back in six months and make that booth my B***H!! Well, here's my B***H: Take THAT booth!!

This does not sound familiar to me either. I know that's not helpful, but just so you know someone's listening...

Increase In Migraines- Is It Surgery, Or Is It Me?
Dooter posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Since surgery in February, I've experienced a marked increase in my migraine activity. I was down to about one or two a year, and since surgery, I've had 5 or 6. I have one right now, which is what made me remember to ask. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's surgery related, or just me. I know this isn't a very scientific method of getting a true answer, but I'm just wondering what, if anything, you all have experienced. -
Vitamins Are Making My Tummy Hurt!...anybody Else
Dooter replied to cantwaittolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually had that problem before I ever took my first vitamin. remember: liquid in, liquid out. I do hate taking vitamins though. -
OH yes. The hair goes through a thinning, but by all accounts, it grows back. I'm waiting for the growing back part as we speak.

Wow. We were sleeved on the exact same day. I thought 86 lbs was doing pretty good. You've done GREAT! Start logging your food and try to get that exercise in! Sodas are toxic waste. Even if there was no controversy over sodas and sleeve stretching...just read the ingredients. You can clean car batteries with that stuff! BLECH! (former DC addict speaking;) ) I honestly think they kept me fat somehow. I get really thirsty and try to chug drinks and just can't do it. I take a few swallows and then wait a bit then a few more. Then I have to wait a longer time or I'll feel sick. Everyone's drinking returns at different rates I guess.

Let's see.. I had an early meeting, so i had a protein bar for breakfast a salad for lunch that had spring greens, grilled chicken, fat free feta, tomatoes, walnuts, a few cranberries and raspberry walnut vinaigrette (all trader joes) dinner...leftover spaghetti and meatballs (about 1/2 cup with one meatball) and later i had 1/2 cup of cottage cheese with some strawberry goop in it. YUM. And I'm usually checking in at around 800 calories for the day.

I Have A Hemorrhoid!
Dooter replied to missmachine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
An oz. of prevention- once this feels better-- start throwing a 1/4 cup of Fiber One in your yogurt every day. I can't live without that stuff. It's just enough to....well...... stay happy. -
Does anyone else hate that ad for "Interdry" that pops up on the top of the page now and then? Blech...
