Dr Ponce De Leon And Coordinator Laurie $4600?
mesaucedo replied to AngelBaby's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went with Ponce and loved him! I used Trish though. I am sure if she works with Trish she is probably just as thorough! Here is what I wrote about my experience: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/33782-i-have-been-sleeved/page__fromsearch__1 I am super jealous! That is like 1,000 less than I paid! -
Is The Best Case Scenario Really Realistic?
mesaucedo replied to Ready4success's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work at a catering and dining common for UCSB. So we do a lot of lifting tables, big 5 gallon beverage containers, trash cans. When I went back to work they had me do minimal lifting but I was still on my feet for 6-8 hours at a time. I stuck with dish and pot duty for a week or so and then went back to small lifting - like trays of food that weighed up to 15 pounds and in two - three weeks after that (maybe a month out) I was back to normal. My doc ok'd this for me, he said I shouldn't be too sore and since I had no scar tissue he was able to stitch me up nice and tightly with no problem. I never felt anything "pop" as some people have when they lift things too early out. I did get sore after my first day back doing trash, but not pain. -
Any Bakers, Chefs, Cooks?
mesaucedo replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I work at a bakery during the school year and have no problem with sampling things. If I am making it, I need to make sure it is ok and will be satisfactory to everyone. So I try it. I have never eaten a whole whatever, only a small bite. Many people on here still include these items in their diet - just in moderation. A 1/2 tablespoon of whatever we make really isn't a big deal to me. I find myself eating much worse things and too much of it when I am not at work! I guess if that is really a big deal to you, just have a friend over to do the tasting! I am sure no one will object to being a baked good guinea pig. -
Is The Best Case Scenario Really Realistic?

I am 20 and I started out at 260 the day of surgery. I also didn't have any scar tissue, no previous surgeries, so he said there was less stretching and poking and prodding around things which aided on me not being so sore. My level of pain was around a 3 or 4 -- kind of felt like someone had punched me in the stomach and I was just sore. This only really happened when I tried to sit up or lay down. -
Dr. Kelly's Patients - Important!
mesaucedo replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
There is a Mexico forum on here that specifically addresses that question often. Look into it. -
It is absolutely possible. Would it be tough? Yes. But it can be done. I have a friend, who told me about the surgery, who lost 100 pound sin 6 months and made it to goal. She, like me, loves to bake and ended up going back to it. Well, 6 months later and she said she went from a 4 to a 6. She has been gaining weight for a while now and was kind of ignoring it. I have heard of worse stories though, like 50 pounds gained. So just be cautious. If you are eating nutritious foods it should be hard to overeat but sugary foods tend to be sliders.

Does Your Calcium Citrate Chew ...?

Oh ok, I was just wondering because I am taking actual pills and they are becoming too much of a hassle to force down so I am looking for something else! -
Does Your Calcium Citrate Chew ...?

Do you take the chewy bites or the actual chews? -
There is another brand that I love that makes decaf! It is called Click and they have a decaf mocha one with 15g Protein. I usually split the package up and only use half at a time. Here is there site: http://drinkclick.com/

Mormonism! They control what you wear, what you eat and drink, how you have sex, when you can date, what movies/music you can listen to, how often you go to church -- 3 days a week usually, what you can read, how much you have to pay them and much more. Not to mention they encourage all women to be honored with the greatest gift -- giving up their dreams and hopes to become a full time stay at home wife and then mom.

I was told no raw veggies for 2 months. I tried some the other day, around 3 1/2 months out and to my surprise (TMI!) it didn't get digested at all. So I tend to stay away from it. Carrots and peppers seem to be fine though.

Is The Best Case Scenario Really Realistic?
mesaucedo replied to Ready4success's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it depends on a few things: age, mood and overall attitude. I am young and recovered very quickly - doc said it was because I wasn't too overweight and young people tend to bounce back more quickly. I wanted to be all lazy and lay in bed but the nurses and my aunt had me up and walking three hours after surgery, I felt so much better. Lastly, instead of staying in my hotel room to recover I actually went around Mexico and went on a four hour drive to Ensenada and had a ton of fun. I felt great! I drove myself 8 hours fourish days after surgery. I went back to school a week after and work two weeks after. Mind you, I work in a very physically demanding job. So I think if you approach it in a positive mood and make yourself get up and walk walk walk, you will have an easier time. I also wasn't taking any pain meds after the first ***ht. -
Where To Shop For Clothes
mesaucedo replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ebay a ton for clothes and also goodwill. I hit up thrifts too. For work I had to give in and buy special pants but I found them at Walmart for 13 bucks. -
Oh my goodness. So many videos and so many views!

I second what Dooter said. I even progressed at what seem people said was too quickly and didn't dare eat bread until 3 months, I just had KFC for the first time two ***hts ago and it made me sick. -- that says "n i g h t s" but the new thing keeps bleeping it! --- I think you need to slow down. At that point I was eating softer foods like: tuna, creamed Soups, canned chicken, cottage cheese, yogurts, scrambled eggs, and soft meats like pulled pork.

I have actually heard of people getting shorter. The most famous one: http://voices.yahoo.com/varsity-blues-actor-ron-lester-loses-315-pounds-1008453.html He is 2 inches shorter because his feet and head were so padded!

Beer actually seems to sit more comfortably for me than soda does. But I still prefer not to drink it because I get all burpy -- which is not hot at a college party! I would try some wine at home and take it slow. I used to be able to throw back 6 beers, 4 shots and then some to get drunk. Now it is 1 shot of alcohol and I am stumbling drunk, this lasts for 10 minutes or so and then I am completely sober. So now I sip mixed drinks -- sugar free of course! This is just like sweets -- some people choose to completely stop drinking and others don't. It is a personal preference and I would do what I wanted to. Everyone has a different answer.

I know you have probably been asked this, but are you taking a PPI? It helped me so much with "hunger" throughout the day. Also, you aren't supposed to be eating until you are full, just until you are no longer hungry. There is a difference and for me it is almost 2 pieces of light salami. What is in the chai tea? Sugar? Protein? Why don't you switch it out for a low calorie high protein one? They make some powders that taste amazing. I am a big fan of Click, they make coffee ones with 15g protein.

They really do. It is tough but luckily volume won't be a problem for you anymore, although there are ways around that. I just moved recently and today my neighbors brought me some brownies over as a welcome gift and I set them on the counter. I have been nibbling on them all day and realized I somehow managed to eat three brownies. THREE. I threw the rest away immediately and took the trash out. Now to sugar cleanse again. You know now that you are capable of making a healthy choice, just like I know I can live without brownies.

Parker's Dad, that is one of the many reasons I can't take religion seriously. I grew up Mormon and there was this one lady that always used to pawn her son on my mom so she could run errands. She was a real witch to my mom too and would be super rude sometimes and nice others, my mom wanted to "fit in" so she took it. (We were converts) Anywho, turns out her errands were cheating on her hubby who was at the time going through chemo for cancer. Because that is what Jesus would do. Right? Eventually my mum ended up marrying her hubby -- now ex -- and she tells everyone my mom is a dirty sinner and blah blah blah. But all the same she goes to church, says her vows, takes the sacrament and acts like she has never done any wrong.

Too Gross To Ask? I Hope Not...
mesaucedo replied to Randgalt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a friend who had hers at a military hospital and she had to sign a waiver saying it was ok for them to use it in scientific studies. Same thing with her umbilical cord from her birth. Military science experiments, super creepy. -
I have a skinny iced caramel macchiato everyday! They are around 140 calories and have 11g protein!

Tired Of The "when Can You Have___ Again?" Questions
mesaucedo replied to gustavo52974's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think once I hit goal it will be different but for now I think they are surprised that a fat girl isn't wolfing down a huge plate of food. I usually still order my own plate but only eat a tiny bit and take the rest to go to eat for a few other meals. But the looks that skinny girls give me, like I am doing not eating so I don't look fat or something. -
I was told if I got pregnant within the first 3 months that the average rate of a baby making it was only 15%. So call everyone as soon as possible.

Ok. So are you sleeved or not? That is what the poster was asking.
