Question: Why Is Caffeine Off Limits?
mesaucedo replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is a diuretic if you drink large quantities. Also, outdated information is used as sources for most articles that site it as such. (first articles most recent source is late '90s) Most of us that have been sleeved drink maybe a cup or coffee or a soda a day, definitely not getting dehydrated from it unless by some miracle that is all you drink. -
How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?
mesaucedo replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Food and Nutrition
We are talking about their clear drinks right? They also make shakes. I like the passion fruit flavor and mix it 50/50 with Water. It makes my money last longer and dilutes it a ton. I hated their alpine punch and apple melon flavors. -

mesaucedo replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BTW everyone, coffee is not a diuretic and does not dehydrate you. This is now a myth, recent research shows this. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/caffeinated-drinks/AN01661 http://www.nctimes.com/lifestyles/health-med-fit/article_df147532-cee3-5abe-91b2-9014a83a1af1.html -
An arm lift or sometimes some simple lipo may be enough! If you google arm lift you will find tons of stuff They now have a more expensive procedure that leaves the scar in your armpit instead of along the arm!

Ninja, Bullet, Blender Or Food Processor?
mesaucedo replied to ladiJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a nice little bullet but it sucks when it comes to ice! I need something that can nicely blend up a smoothie with some ice. It makes them taste so much better, in my opinion. What do you guys use for ice crushing or finer grating? -
Hungry After A Couple Of Hours?
mesaucedo replied to Nola_Loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I get hungry after a few hours. Most people on here eat about 5 - 6 times a day. It may also just be acid which can mimic hunger (I take a PPI for this) or head hunger. If you are only eating three times a day I would try adding in 2 small Snacks to see if that helps. I actually eat 6 times a day because my day starts around 6 and ends around 12am or 1 am. So I eat Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. You should also try the acid reducers. Helped me a ton -
Most Humiliating Fat Moment

I think that was the point, that is how other people who are mean to fat people think. They think that WLS is for lazy fatties. -
Too Little Calories? Anyone Lose Weight With 1000?
mesaucedo posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been stalled at 197-199 for three, almost four weeks now. I keep losing a pound and gaining it back and losing it etc. It is super frustrating, logically it is impossible not to lose weight when eating 700 calories a day! I always eat 80g + Protein a day and keep carbs under 40g. This weekend my fiance came to visit and we went out to eat a ton. I had a taco, some pizza, meats with sauces (calorie packed) and even some froyo. I pretty much just ate whatever. Well I weighed this morning and I am am down 2 pounds from Friday. So now I am wondering why. My job requires a ton of physical activity and I bike to and from classes a day, about 30 mins total, and burn about 400 - 600 calories when I work out 3 times a week. I am wondering if 700 is just too little for my body. Has any female sleever lost weight in a constant manner while getting in around 900 - 1000 calories? Just wanted to add that if I did decided to up my calories I would do so with more healthy foods than pizza and candy I was just observing the increase in calories in general and their effect, not the foods eaten. -

Thanks everyone for the input! I think I will try to up them to 1000 - 1100 for a few weeks, or even a month, and see how it goes! I think if I add in another shake or bar I should get there in a healthy way! -
Oh gosh, I am the baby! I am 20 and got my sleeve in March during my spring break. I was back at work and school as soon as it started! Best decision ever! Everyone was saying that I was too young, but I couldn't imagine waiting 20 more years.

For me it actually kind of cures it. My family has a genetic disorder for stomach cancer. It is an autosomal recessive gene. When my dad died from it, my mum got us all screened. Turn out I not only have the gene, but it is active in my body and should theoretically cause stomach cancer at some point. My brother has it too, he just had little polyps that had to be removed. But he is only 24. Anywho, my oncologist told me that now that 85% is removed, my chances of having an actual tumor have greatly decreased because the cancerous cells could have been on that portion.

Totally appropriate.

I Wonder What Celebrities Are Sleeved?!?
mesaucedo replied to SensationallySassyT's topic in Rants & Raves
She has been topless in quite a few movies and there aren't any scars. Maybe she just loses those when she drops weight. Like me -
Lol I am Mayan (Salvadorean) and Portuguese and Jewish so I am hairrrrry! I don't shave all the time though, only when I know I will be wearing shorts or something. I used ot be uber self conscious when I was younger -- even a kid because of my stache -- until my mom told me about how women with hairy knuckles were special in Maya culture. It took me a while to completely get over it though. My fiance is Mexican so he has seen all the hair on his mommy and doesn't care

Every 4 days?? You must be white lol I have to shave EVERY SINGLE DAY if I want to be smooth. By the end of the day my legs have a good 1/6 inch of stubble!

Dr Ponce De Leon And Coordinator Laurie $4600?
mesaucedo replied to AngelBaby's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Well she never said anything like that to me. All that I have heard of that has been hearsay. And who knows? They may both have a drug problem (not saying either one does). Wouldn't be the first time a doctor with access to pills got addicted. -

Dr Ponce De Leon And Coordinator Laurie $4600?
mesaucedo replied to AngelBaby's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Trish was probably the most amazing coordinator anyone has ever had. She went above and beyond and never once trashed Dr. Kelly to me. She even said that what he did was mean and hurtful but that he still was a great surgeon and she still had love for him. Furthermore, it is not Dr. Kelly with the alleged drug problem. It is his wife. -
Dr Ponce De Leon And Coordinator Laurie $4600?
mesaucedo replied to AngelBaby's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It might just be that she is taking a cut on her fees to get her name out there. Trish told me she gets quite a bit for each surgery. -
So now that I have mastered my Protein, calorie and Water goals I was wondering about sodium. How much is too much? What do you try to stay under? My diet consists of a lot of cheese and deli meats and I am finding that those have a ton of sodium! I can't really afford to buy non pre-packaged deli meat - I have a budget around 10 bucks a week for food. Anywho, what is your sodium limit?

Does Your Calcium Citrate Chew ...?
mesaucedo replied to Piplula's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The viactiv hurt my teeth, which was weird since I don't have any cavities and never have pain with anything else. -
Haha I wasn't worried about getting in too little! It is good to know that 2500mg is max! I have been getting in around 1200mg and 98% of that is coming from deli meat. So I guess it isn't too bad.
