What Did You Tell Your Friends?
mesaucedo replied to Ms. Scarlett's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was really nervous at first and wanted to keep my decision to myself. I didn't want to be judged. But as it got closer and closer I started telling more. Now people can't get me to shut up about it! I did encounter a few negative people and decided I was ok with that. I know most of their negative comments came out of concern. I now tell everyone. My coworkers, classmates, random hobos on the street....... -
You could try out clothing made for younger men. I have noticed that these tend to be more "wedged" shaped. American Eagle makes some nice simple t-shirts.

Sleeping Better On Pre-Op Clears
mesaucedo replied to Mimi77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope this happens to me! I have insomnia O.O Maybe it is because it is healthier than your previous diet? Whenever I went on my (very) short crazy diets I felt better overall. -
Nectar Caribbean Cooler...yes!
mesaucedo replied to takingmylifebacc's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Oh! I have to try that! I never thought of using coconut Water for the more tropical ones! Excited now! -
Hamany, I just read through your previous/other posts and can see a pattern. You don't really know much about diet after the sleeve. You jumped into chips and macaroni and got sick, I can see why. I think you need to go back to basics. I haven't been sleeved yet, but know - because of my doctor's plan and others on here - that mushies and liquids will be my main source of food for quite some time. Obviously since you are afraid to eat but can swallow, you can do shakes. You should just try to push through it and start a sensible post-op diet. Regardless if your surgeon is a dietician or not, I am sure his/her post-op diet has been approved by one. They know best usually, they did go to school for 8+ years and do at least 4 years of residency. Listen to your doctor.

Flame Free Friday Confessions!
mesaucedo replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with Chell. I am do to be sleeved in three weeks and have been pigging out since I got my date Every time I see something delicious I have to eat it! I have this "last supper" complex now. It doesn't help that my doctor only requires a 3 day pre-op diet. -

Hair Loss Experiences
mesaucedo replied to iHeartNettie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am still pre-op and have been taking GNC's be-Beautiful supplement along with my multis for two months now. I decided to "beef" up my hair before it was going to fall out! I have noticed better nails and skin along with a little bit of hair growth and thickness. Hopefully it will make it less noticeable when the time comes! -
Hey everyone! I am still pre-op but am getting sleeved on March 23rd! I have been reading a lot about saggy skin but most of those topics address stomach skin. Although I am worried about that I am more concerned about arm skin. I would LOVE to wear a tank top! I am only 20 and love in sunny Santa Barbara so I would love to wear a cute sleeveless dress! I am about 254 so I hope that helps a bit! Did you have bat wings after you were at goal? How can I help reduce them?

I am 20 and getting sleeved in three weeks. Joseph, why are you regretting it?

I also heard that starting 2012 it is required for both directions. I guess it used to be pretty lax but not anymore. :/ -
Saggy Arms.... Avoidable?

Thanks everyone for the replies! I guess I should start now on my arms and hope for the best! -
Pre-Op Liquid Diet And So Sick!
mesaucedo replied to jwelk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know of a few that do not require a diet beforehand. My doctor, Ponce De Leon, only requires a 3 day yougurt diet beforehand. I do plan on doing a traditional 2 week liquid one though. Maybe you should switch shakes? Did your doc specify that you have to use that one? -
Medicare ..is It Approved
mesaucedo replied to gokiwi68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have medicare and medical and I was rejected here in California. They offered bypass because the sleeve was "too experimental" So I got a loan and am doing it in Mexico -
Passport For Mexico
mesaucedo replied to skinnynaked's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You can go to a passport agency office to get it way faster. It looks like DC has one. I think they do it on the spot. http://travel.state.gov/passport/npic/agencies/agencies_902.html -
I am super worried too! I am only 20 and haven't ever been above 256 so hopefully it won't be too bad. I have gotten some info from surgeons here in SB and in LA and they said that it is possible to do the skin only and not the muscle so I can still have babies without too much strain. They estimated about 5,000 - 6,000. I think this could be doable for me, I won't be able to get it until about 2 years out anyway, so it is possible. I hope that I won't have to though!

Almost Fainted This Morning! Help
mesaucedo replied to Melly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This used to happen to me when I was hardcore dieting and working out. It was from dehydration and lack of calories. I would down a spoon of honey for sugar energy and then drink lots of Water or a shake. Hope this was your last time! Fainting can be scary. -
Birth Control After Surgery
mesaucedo replied to D1NOnlySexyLady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Liliana, what pill are you on? I am currently on Depo shot and am looking to switch. I know it makes me crave fructose and glucose so I find myself milling towards sugar! I love the convenience of it but don't want it to add to a stall. I was also looking into the implant. -

What's Your Trick To Keeping Meat Moist Enough To Not Upset Your Sleeve?
mesaucedo replied to AllForMy4's topic in Food and Nutrition
Something that I do now, pre-sleeved, is make meat in my crock pot. It allows it to get soft and it falls apart nicely. -
I too am nervous for it, I am starting no caffeine this Monday (4 weeks before surgery) so I won't be facing too much during my pre-op diet. I think the hunger alone will be enough for me! I have been weaning myself off from coffee to tea in the mornings! Good luck!
