    Diet Pills

Dooter, I just stick to green tea in tea form. It really does help me power through my workouts. I have a cup of iced green tea like 30 mins before. Sometimes I also do something very very bad (no lecturing!) and drink half a 5 hour energy. Especially if I have been working a double. I drink too much caffeine, but always have so I have radically cut down my intake. I used to do 8 hour overnight drives home on 6 sugar free redbulls.
  2. I have craved pickles, pickle juice, lemons and salt and tons of sour things since day 1 out of surgery. I thought it was sodium related, but I am getting in more than enough and still crave it. So I have no idea what is going on with that, But I usually have at least 1 small dill pickle or lemon wedge with salt each day.

    Stress Eating

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up doing what I said I didn't want to and worked out for about 20 mins, it did help a lot.

    Stress Eating

So it is the week before finals for me and I am super stressed. I just found out that my aid for summer is being slashed and I am about $1800 short for the summer. Between this and finals I stress ate two Cookies and now feel like crap. I knew I wasn't really hungry and still did it! I feel gross and bloated now. I never have a bad reaction really, I just feel icky. I know Hamilton doesn't like sugar and I have no idea why I just shoved those in my mouth. I feel ashamed a bit. How do you guys manage with stress? And don't you dare say, "Working out" I don't have time to! I feel bad even posting this when I should be studying Thucydides for my Greek Military Strategy class. I mean quick things to help take the edge off of the impending doom feeling.

    Drinking

Straws vary from doctor to doctor. The main argument is that they allow more air to be swallowed. I don't seem to have that problem though. As for drinking, I can drink/chug quite a bit and always have. During the first month though I didn't. Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. liquids can still fluff up the stomach and potentially cause a leak.

    Not Losing Sizes Fast

I hadn't realized how snug my 20s were until I lost weight, they fit for about 35 pounds, I just went down to all 18s. I think once we get into 16, 14 etc they will move faster! You are doing great

    This Might Be Inappropriate!

Well I guess the good thing is that in addition to rejuvenation, that just tightens the inner vagina, their is a labia lift. They can make the outer labia smaller and "prettier". I am not sure I would ever undergo such a surgery though.

This May Be Inappropriate, Forgive Me :)

I posted this in the other as well: Actually, the inside WILL change. At least according to my gyno. I went in for my first pap, I am only 20, and we talked about my surgery. She mentioned that larger women have more narrow vaginal canals because all the fat pushing in on it. She asked me about 100 times if I was sure I wasn't a virgin (really awkward). She said once I lose most of my weight it will widen a bit but not much. She said it probably wouldn't be noticeable to a partner but I may notice less discomfort, which I do have sometimes.

  11. Lucky! I wish they removed mine! I am so afraid of the super painful symptoms people report on here. I am sure it will just mean another laproscopic incision and more time under so more anesthesia. It shouldn't change much. It only took 25 minutes to take out my tummy, so I am guessing a gallbladder doesn't take too long either.
  12. I wasn't told anything about corn, but salads were a no-no for a while. Especially raw vegetables. I was told they are tough to digest and don't really do much for us. We should be focusing on proteins first.

    16 Mos Out...disappointed

Haha thanks, but I was replying to lml who said she is vegetarian. I don't know if I could get enough Protein in if I was.

    16 Mos Out...disappointed

Just a quick question, how do you get your Protein in? Is it all from fish or shakes? I was recently wishing I could switch but then realized how hard it would be to get in 70g protein.

Have you though of doing Miss Diva's Bootcamp? I heard it can help when you are in a rut http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/28139-the-basics-boot-camp/page__hl__bootcamp__fromsearch__1

    Over Isopure.com

Everyone on here talks about Premier Protein and I finally gave in and tried it. It is pretty tasty, much nicer than muscle milk, and has I think 30g of Protein in one RTD serving. They sell it at costco and Sam's Club and online. For me though, earlier at least, I stuck to unjury and nectar. You can buy a nectar sample pack at Bariatric Advantage -- online -- for like 13 bucks.

What Method Of Birth Control Did You Use?

Just to note on this, antibiotics only affect some type of BC. Depo, for instance, is not affected by 98% of antibiotics. Same with the implant.

What Method Of Birth Control Did You Use?

You should realllllllly consider BC. After the sleeve so many hormones are being released that you become extremely fertile. I have heard of women who were "sterile" for 15 years getting pregnant months after surgery. If you do get pregnant it is very dangerous for you and the baby to continue on, some women have done it with no problems, but the likelihood of having problems is huge. I am one of the few who is on depo and loves it, every 3 months I get one shot, no weight gain, no headaches or nausea. I guess I lucked out.
  19. I was told it was ok to add in anything that helped me get in Water. And thanks! It won't be long before you will be shedding weight too!
  20. I agree, I didn't even start thinking about Protein for at least a week or two. I was just working on liquids. Drink whatever you can, as often as possible! Little sips go a long way if you take a lot of them throughout the day! Hang in there

    Bad Pain

I had some minor spasms and gurgles whenever I drank/ate anything for the first month. I have heard that cold Water makes the spasms worse or more painful -- some people say water in general. Mine weren't necessarily painful though, just irritating. If the pain persists I would give your surgeon a call and check it out!

    Liquids B4 Surgery

What did your doctor tell you about pre-op goals? Some have calorie restrictions, others just have food-type restrictions. If you weren't specified a certain calorie goal I wouldn't worry about it too much. And yes, you can change the "goal" on MFP to anything.

    Cost Of Vsg In Mexico

I went to dr. Ponce de leon in Tijuana and my total stay was $5500. That included 3 hospital nights and 2 hotel nights and all meals out of the hospital for me and my aunt who came with me. I chose the INT hospital which was nice and small -- 7 rooms per floor so you always had the same nurse. It had a nice big shower and was a big private room. I also got a video of my surgery

Free Tummy Tuck At Burn Unit

It was a Dr. Cortina in Willits/Ukiah Ca I recently heard some iffy news of him though, apparently he didn't go to Med School for cosmetics but has been doing some sort of seminar program to get his degree. Someone said he had botched a tummy tuck recently. I think he has a website though.
