Oh I didn't think it would flush so easily! Great cuz I'm on my third cup today. It's good! (Better than Bouillon). From what I've read, I believe I need to drop one of two meals and have 2 shakes and only one small meal a day.

Happy for you that your surgery is soon. I have to wait until June 19. And I'm having anxiety about it but it's totally normal!! We are embarking on a journey different than the journey we've been on! It's normal to feel this way. What does your pre diet consist of and how many calories?

1000 sounds more reasonable. Under 1000 I think your body goes into starvation mode won't let you lose.

What would the calorie count be on a pre-op diet? I'm entering my meals into Myfitness pal.com. If I choose under 1200 cal a day, it shows me losing weight slower.

Yes, 2011weight, I would like to know the allowed carbs as well. I think I can do this. I got through yesterday but i had 1 shake, plain yogurt, sugar-free jello salad and chix. I worry about the sodium in broth so I haven't had that. I'm not able to walk yet because my back hurts. I'm wondering if all the ppl in this thread lost their weight without exercise during ther liquid diet.....

Does it have to be bariatric advantage. I have several others. How much jello and broth? Thank you!! I hope I can be strong thru it!!

Hilo-tech - are you in Virginia? I'm in Newport News and just switched Drs because of incompetent office workers and red flag warnings going off in my head. Now I'm so happy with the new Dr!

Thx for ur reply!! What consists of that diet! I'm uplifted knowing that it might be possible!! My Dr will not be using a pre- op diet so I'm not sure what it is.

I had my one-on-one with my surgeon today. I had a laundry list of questions and he loved how prepared I was. He doesn't use a pre-op diet. I was also concerned about taking my 2 meds. He said that I shouldn't have a problem but not to take them together - that I should be able to sip an ounce of water at a time.

I also belong to gastricsleeve.com. I get the same information here and it's organized so much better here. I just couldn't keep up w/both either! But I felt better checking it out and then making my decision to mske this site my #1 forum!

I'm nervous too! Surgery is mid June. I keep thinking I will get so nervous that I will back out. But I really want the surgery. I need to stop over thinking everything! ????????

Ms V, I am 55 yrs old I have been researching the VSG for 10 months. I have 6 weeks left of a 12 month insurance mandated weight loss counseling program. I have not had a death in the family but I eat for other reasons. I realized that the surgery is only a tool and I have to get a handle on why I eat like I do. So I started seeing a counselor. I know that I can't keep the same habits after the surgery. Good luck to you on your decision! Keep us posted!!

I'm going to tell everyone that I'm exercising and practicing portion control. Both are the truth. I'm over it -- hearing people's opinions. But I've noticed mor and more commercials on TV about WLS so soon enough it'll become more common and more accepted.

I dont have a date yet either but my paperwork goes in to the ins co on May 2 and I should hear something within 2 weeks of that date. I'm shooting for mid June too! I'm getting a little nervous! Happy - nervous!

I have 6 weeks left on the 12 month mandatory weight loss counseling that my insurance requires. The closer I get to the end, the more scared I get. I'm so afraid I will regret surgery but Ive read so many success stories. That helps to keep me positive. I don't want to live this way anymore. I'm just a little scared.

Have both the psyc Eval and upper GI on Wednesday of this week. I'm nervous about the upper GI cuz I've not heard of anyone having it pre-op. I'm guessing it's cuz the Dr noticed I take something for acid reflux everyday. So scared something is going to block my surgery! I'm so close!!

I also heard that if you have a male boss, you can just say something like "I'm having female surgery." He probably won't ask any questions. Good luck on your surgery!! I still have a couple of months. Keep us posted!

Good Morning! In anticipation of my surgery in 2 months, I'm thinking that my life's "movie title," will change from "The Soloist," to "A Star is Born!" LOL!
