Long Time Sleevers - Whey Or Casein Protein?
Ssilian replied to Ssilian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I have the Premier in my stash, too! Just wondered about the casein. Thank you! -
I agree with everything said above!!

I've stopped telling people! This is about me; this is for me and my health. I have a co-worker that said she'll never go out to lunch w me again cuz she didnt want to feel bad. I find that alot pf ppl are negative cuz they are jealous. They dont have the spine to do what we're doing. Just my opinion; I could be wrong..... :-)

Got Some Premier Protein Shakes
Ssilian replied to jaymzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I buy the Premier Shakes at Costco. I paid less than $30 or a case of 24. -
This is great! I bought underwear two sizes smaller thinking that I would need them first before any of my clothes! A "mini goal" outfit is a great idea! I think I will shop this weekend for one. I'll leave it on the hanger and dangle it like a carrot! Thanks for the idea! Come on June..........................

Having Second Thoughts...can I Really Do This?
Ssilian replied to BeanieandRosie'smom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
BeanieandRosie'smom, - yes, the higher the number of bougie, the larger it is. My doctor pulled out a number of pens, markers and highlighters and showed me the difference in size using them. It's really not that much! -
Whew, this process was so long for me (12 months) and now I'm waiting on the insurance company to call. My surgeons office called Friday and said they put through all the paperwork. The scheduler told me a month ago that my insurance company is one of the easiest to work with because they respond in 24-48 hours. Well, today is the 2nd day. Wouldn't you know that I have to attend a work retreat today! So I figured out how to forward my work phone to my cell phone, that way when I'm on a break, I can check for messages. I tell ya, it seems like it's taking forever but I know it's only been two days! I guess it's because I had to go through this lengthy process of counseling for 12 months. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get the call today!

Well you guys were right. I called the insurance company a few weeks ago and they told me before the Dr.'s office did. !

Hi Starsleeve! I just got the Click samples in the mail yesterday. I learned about it through theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com blog. But I haven't tried it yet. According to eggface, Click will be coming out with a decaf product beginning in June. If you go to the Click website, they give you the nutrition values. Here is the link: http://drinkclick.com/compare Hope this helps!

Having Second Thoughts...can I Really Do This?
Ssilian replied to BeanieandRosie'smom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
From what I have learned on this forum over the last 7-8 months, the sleeve will teach you to eat properly. I'm a foodie so I completely understand. I also understand that although the sleeve has been around a while, it is catching on as the most popular weight loss surgery. By the way, your surgeon may have a certain bougie size that he/she normally uses. From what I understand, the sizes are 32-40. My surgeon uses a 34. -
I sound like a pirate in that last post. LOL LOL! ".....my fears have been....." Bahahaha

Welcome and congratulations on your decision. I am having my surgery on June 14. This forum is rich in information and the people are so welcoming. We are all in this together! I had/have the same feelings as you but after read so much on this site, me fears have been completely calmed. I am ready to get this going. Our sleeves will be 4 days apart! Good luck and stay in touch.

Just Saying Hello And Introducing Myself....new To Forum

Welcome and good luck!! Keep us posted. -
This is great info! I also wanted something like that for when I start exercising! Thank you.

I have 15 more days until my surgery (6/14). I am completely calm now about getting the sleeve. I was panicked for a few months but the more I read on here, the less I fear it. There are two links I want to put in here so that later if I have to refer to them, I'll know where to go. They are both for if you fall off the wagon and need to "jump start" your sleeve again. Basics Boot Camp - http://www.verticals...ics-boot-camp/ and the 5 Day Pouch Test - http://www.5daypouch...uchtest.com/ I hope not to use them but they are a great resource. On Monday, June 4, I have to attend and Educational workshop at my surgeons office. This is where I will meet a dietician and a nurse. I will also be getting a couple of tests (EKG I think, and maybe something else). My total costs so far: Initial Dr. Visit co-pay: $40 2nd Dr. chosen - copay: $40 Psyc Eval - copay - $40 Educational Workshop - $40 InMotion personal trainer fee (mandated by the surgeon) $120 Hospital co-pay $300 (thank goodness my insurance covers this surgery and they also cover a tummy tuck as long as it's associated with the surgery!!) I have four girlfriends that are size 12 and lower - they've all banded to give me their unwanted clothing! What a great group of friends!! They are always sharing and trading clothes. I can't wait to join "the club."

You've chosen a great forum to get your answers! I have Anthem BC/BS. I called them and asked if they paid for weight loss surgery. They sent me an envelope and told me what to do. (My insurance does not require a referral from my primary physician). My insurance required me to participate in a 12 month counseling program. I hung in there and I'm 16 days away from surgery! Good luck! P.S. if you want to look up a specific subject, there is a search box at the top of the forum page. Just about every topic to do with the VSG has been covered here.
