Hey guys and gals - well my story huh? I don't even know where to begin... I know that I can't believe that I am here now... Yes I received my approval months ago - but as life would have it - things just weren't ideal for me to have surgery - my first surgery date was foiled by the necessity to move out of a home I was sharing with my neice and then as things would have it - 1 week until my next surgery date - my father became ill - to the point of being in the ICU - and again I was faced with choosing my sanity over my wish for getting the surgery... it was necesary for me to take care of my family.. they are my sanity... Some call me crazy - why wait so long to get the surgery? I just wanted to make sure all my 'ducks' were in a row... makes sense right?
Well as March 20th rolled around - I no longer had any excuses, all ducks were in a row and the only thing that would keep me from having the surgery would be my weight at weigh in. As many of you know - Dr. Simpson has very stringent rules on ensuring that every patient that goes into surgery - their BMI must be 49.9 and under... so days before my surgery I weighed in at a 49.1 - was I excited? Yes... however according to the calendar I would also be racing my monthly to the surgery date... Yes ladies - you know what I'm talking about - the ever dreaded water weight that comes with our monthly!! Well to my suprise I weighed in at 321.4 with a BMI of 48.9 ... YAY!! So surgery was a go!!
And well short story here I am... post surgery - day 3.... I don't know what to expect or what to do.. there are some frustrations - but I'm sure it will subside... so be on the look out for more... because I'm sure I will be writing more!!
