Lapband 09/20/2012. I just had a upper GI and found that I have a slip on 10/28/14. I think this lapband slipped last year in 2013 about March but my doctor would not perform any testing procedure despite my complaints. I finally went to a new doctor because I was not happy and have been at a scale stall for one year despite regular exercise and one cup meal plan. I am going to the new lapband doctor to see what can be done. I would like the revision to the sleeve so that means going for an approval with my insurance company. I am down 55 lbs and have 25 to goal. I have a BMI of 28 and weight is about 158-160lbs and I am 5.2" tall

Update as of 12/12/14. After a Upper GI fluroscopy to view my band-nothing is slipped. I have my band with a 7.5 cc in my band. After I had my last unfill I have not restriction and I am hungry all the time. I have not lost any weight in 2014. I am still doing my fitness 1-2 hours per day 6 days and keeping my calories at 1000 per day.

I was at 7.5 in my 10cc band then went up to 9.5 cc and very tight. I could not eat more than 10 bites and was throwing up and slime all the time. I had a 2.5 cc unfill and now cannot feel restriction. I changed doctors and gain 10 lbs this year 2014. I am not happy and not in my green zone and hungry all the time. Once you feel that spot of not being hungry and not throwing up your THERE~

Finally! Broke the Plateau.
Annette Corrado replied to loser2014's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yay for you and your doing AWESOME. Yes, the lapband WL is slow and it depends on your age and genetics. Most of us here, former foodies, have to re-learn our daily habits of chewing our food and changing the way we eat FOR A LIFESTYLE CHANGE and of course exercise is so KEY and strength training! I turn 54 today and I am down 60 pounds in 2 years with lapband, and it has not been an easy road. One thing for sure today, I am healthy and wear a smaller size clothes I have completed 12 races this year, which includes a 70.3 Ironman and 3 half Marathons! All the best to all of you in 2015-Lets rock this FAT off our bodies and make a better mind, body and soul! -

High port placement
Annette Corrado replied to BandedSister_Lizz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 60 pounds less I can "see" (looks like an egg under my skin) and "feel" my port but also my excess SKIN that hangs. I will take that and be healthy and not obese.........o) -
Port soreness. How long did yours last?
Annette Corrado replied to betty_s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a lapbander who is 22 months out. I have soreness from time to time. I protect my port area-I don't let my husband "squeeze" me in my stomach area-lol-I scream keep away of my lapband!-bah. But I have trouble doing crunches or situps so I do very little of that exercise. -
I have lost 60 pounds and my goal is 80 pounds. I feel great and in a size 8 and small tops. The lapband is only a tool of about 20% and I must do the other with food choices and exercise. I hope to get to goal at my 2 year mark.

Sorry for the loss of your tool. I would say stick to the basics of what you learned in your WL journey. Mindfulness is the key each day of calories to track and stay within that range and exercise. Best to you.

Help! I'm vomiting :(
Annette Corrado replied to 1973Angel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't want to lecture you about your band but those issues you listed could become worse if you don't seek medical attention. This is a $$$$ for the physicians and we "folks" who will do anything to get out of obesity-usually- often fall "prey" and become so passive. Take a "stand" for your health condition because "only" you will lead yourself out of obesity. Get your head in a good place and fix the problem and work your tool. PS look on you tube we all have channel's who have walked the path out of obesity. All the best to you "fight" to get healthy! -
Let me tell you a story

My Lap Band caused Esophageal Cancer
Annette Corrado replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
updates anyone?? -
Sorry for your experience and pain. My doctor has me lay back on a pillow when doing a fill. In my 18 months I have known some bander peeps who have had this problem. I guess your body anatomy and perhaps when the pounds come off your port will become a poached "egg" ;o I have a "egg" o bander belly

I am 53 and lapbanded on 9/20/12.
Annette Corrado replied to Annette Corrado's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey lapbander, I forgot to say that I log my calories as of 1/1/2014 on myfitnesspal. I eat organic now and only fish as of 1/2014 and no processed foods. I eat every meal from my cookin and kitchen...........LOL. I preplan my meals on Sunday night. I put in plastic one cup portion size. I drink no bubbles of anykind and no refined "carbs". I exercise 60 min per day-usually 5 days a week. I do Swim-Bike-Run and I am a TRIATHLETE at 53 I just finished my first race in May. I NEVER would have thought I could do a race-ever-but I trained an crossed the finish line-"not a jet-set time" but I got a medal for 3rd in my age group. I have not been a fast loser on this journey about a half a pound a week. I exercise quite a bit to get the last fat off my body which is my legs and rear end. My top half of my body is all gone-normal-and my breast have deflated to nothing. I now use "shoulder" pads in my bra which makes nice "fake boobies"............LOL Overall, I feel good and my legs no longer hurt and my back does not pain me after work. I have lost about 1" so now I am 5 2" not 5 3" perhaps due to age and bone loss. food choices is the key and amount with the lapband. I never eat over 3 ounces of food- to overeat means trouble! I hate my lapband at times due to that I cannot eat my foods that I ate before-but then again if I ate those foods I would be back to obesity. I never want to return to my former self again;overweight and unhappy with myself. I keep saying that it took me how long to get myself into this "80lbs gain" so I cannot do it overnight. I have learned that I am a emotional eater with I "never" knew and I eat out of "comfort" like people who use drugs or other things to cover the pain or emotional stressor. I have did some deep thoughts about "why I eat" and how to avoid the mindless eating due to just being "just sad" This is a mental journey so your going to change in every way. Remember, on this WL journey , relationships will change and so will you. -
No restriction with carbs...anyone else?
Annette Corrado replied to Wendydarling19's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
18 months lapband down 60ounds. For me to let one bite of carbs into my mouth will send to into a binge. I have struggled for one year to remove the "whites" from my plate. My brain sends me "the carb monster" and I fight that ....MMMM every day! I know that I cannot eat no "whites not even one bite. That is not only hard because that was my staple for 30 years............bahhhhhhh. I want to reach my goal and stay healthy. -
Constant weird taste in my mouth
Annette Corrado replied to Violeta<3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I had the same issue for several months. I thought it was related to no sugars and no carbs but then my taste buds are not the same since banded. 18 months out -
I am so excited to see such accomplishments on all you 2 year banders! Be happy your fit and out of obesity. We all must remember no matter how far out we get we can go back if we don't maintain our healthy lifestyle. All OF YOU ROCKED your band! I am 17 months out and have 20 pounds to goal...............I hope I make it by September 2014 to say I am down 80 lbs
