Vomiting and Depression after Lap Band Surgery
twi replied to kaye1229's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Luckly I reached well ahead and choose not to eat normal ever again. Eating normal put at wt that was becoming dangerous to my health. So no I don't want to ever eat normal again. I haven't had a fill yet but I now knw how I feel when I get stuck so I m going to change my habits to fit my band. I do not think anyone should be throwing up on a weekly basis. Something is wrong if you do either you aren't changing habits ie chew chew chew or eating foods that you cannt tolerate anymore or your band is over filled? I hope you get to that green zone! Good luck -

Liquid Diet Cheating Question
twi replied to pibble11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr didn't give me liquid diet. He had me on low fat very low fat diet. I lost some wt. He said stick to the post op diet was the most important thing. -
Loose skin depends on lots of things age , amt of wt lost ect. I decided it would be worth it to be health and I am starting to save from ps if needed. They can remove band. I work in healthcare and have seen people remove band. They gained the wt back after. I would only remove mine for medical reason. I tell friends the band is like thight pair of pants that you cannt undo top button to keep eating. You can remove fills if you want and easier but why if it works. I had fears too but now I love love my band!!! I get my first fill in two weeks.

Good luck on your surgery. Hope you love it as much as I do.

I went to health store and bought several single serve protein mica to try it was costly that way but I didn't end up buying a large tub of something I hated. I like NOW it has high protein I have chocolate and no flavor that I add small amt to scrabble eggs soup ect.

Eating Solids Three Weeks After Surgery
twi replied to s2trees's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might want to go on to you tube and see a lapband surgery. Then you can see how the stitches are placed around band to hold it in place. The diet is to protect stitches until the heal. If the break you could slip. There is a very good video on there also about a repair on band that has sliped. Not trying to be harsh but the diet is very important! -

Not A Vegetable Person What Am I In For?
twi replied to Jester_74's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I figure if i was eating a lot of something prior to surgery it shouldn't be a problem after. I don't eat lots of vegs either but adding them into soups ect. Is going to add some benefit. -
I would file a complant against person that posted your name on the net and make sure Alex knws about it. They should be kicked off this site.

How Many People Have You Told?
twi replied to sweetsoutherngirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told 3 co workers I think they told 5 each. Make sure the people you tell really won't tell anyone else. My mother told everyone she talked to. Lol she didn't see any reason not to. Her words. I'm not to worried about it just don't want to deal with everyone else's expectations/ questions -
Stop asking me how much weight I've lost!
twi replied to tripletmomma2000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just say something vague like ,I don't really knw. After awhile they give up not getting a direct answer. Of course there is always one that won't and if they get rude I just tell them I don't like talking about it. -
Some people are tight one day and not another. Maybe on weekends you are more active or less active or eat differently on weekends making band tighter?

Sick Constantly Is This Dangerous
twi replied to Debbie Logie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Vomiting a lot! Can and from what I've read is the most common cause for your band to slip. I have read a lot about starting over after a fill for a few days to give band time to settle and decrease swelling.
