What To Eat First Week After Surgery?
SleeveDreamer replied to Willow216's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will probably be on clear liquids for a couple weeks since your sleeve needs time to heal. SF popsicles, SF jello are also considered clear liquids. Don't worry about the protein count at this point. Just take in the liquids you can. You cannot dehydrate yourself so you will need to sip, sip, sip. Your time will come for full liquids and then you can concentrate more on the protein. your sleeve will let you know when you are full, so don't push it. Follow your doctor's guidleines and you will do fine. -

Sleeved 3/8 Please Help
SleeveDreamer replied to MSMONIK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Luckily i can say never experienced any pain after my surgery. However, I was not allowed protein drinks that soon. You should stick to clear liquids, and wait til you get realeased to full liquids before you try any shakes or anything you can't see through. You can have sf jello, broth, sf popsicles, room temp drinks are better. Try not to rush it and you will feel more comfortable. Your sleeve needs a week or two for the healing to start. -

Eating Before The Surgery
SleeveDreamer replied to LadyIvy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lissa, I know what you mean. I stopped drinking diet pepsi a couple months before my surgery before I even knew of this surgery just because I thought it would be healthier for me, but I must admit I miss it! Does the carbonation bother you? Also I don't know if you know or not, but WalMart has their own version of Mio, their Great Value brand, and it tastes exactly the same and is $2.00 less per bottle. -
San Diego, California Anyone?
SleeveDreamer replied to BubbysMeema's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I live in San Clemente, and had my surgery at Scripps in La Jolla. -
Every morning with breakfast I have about 1/4 cup of the jarred ruby red grapefruit sections with its juice. It tastes really refreshing since I can't drink anything for 1/2 hour after that.Strawberries are in seaon here now and I am eating one with lunch every day. I have not had any issues with any fruit I have tried. Sometimes your doctor makes you wait several weeks before you can eat solid wholes fruits, but he will probably want you to take the skin off apples first.

These are good, however I prefer the Lundberg Rice Chips. before I tried them I ate Beanitos, but love the texture and crunchiness of these others.

I eat eggs prepared any way with no problem. Why can't you have deviled eggs?

Just give them a call and ask what applies to your charges. They are really nice to talk to.

Brown Rice Cakes & Peanut Butter And Lundberg Rice Chips
SleeveDreamer posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
I just had a brown rice cake with 1 tbsp. peanut butter. What a tasty snack! Also I have discovered Lundberg Rice Chips. the Santa fe BBQ is great and the regular Sea Salt ones tastes just like tortilla chips and tastes great with salsa. Check them out. These are the only chips we keep in the house now. They are really crunchy and taste great. Got mine at Whole Foods. They have about 5 different flavors. I liked the beaitos until I tried these, now no more Beanitos! (Before my surgery i probably would have never eaten anything like this.) I would get a bag of Fritos or a can of Lays chips and eat the entire thing as soon as I got home from the store. I don't have a sweet tooth, I am a salt and crunch nut! My how we change our habits, WHILE WE ARE WATCHING OUR JEANS FALL OFF! Love my sleeve! -
Weight Watcher Smart Ones/lean Cuisines
SleeveDreamer replied to xraylinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love them but haven't eaten them for a long time. Either one is loaded with preservatives, and lots of sodium. Although it probably wouldn't hurt to keep one or two in the freezer for and emergency quick meal if necessary! -

I started this a few days ago and was doing really good, and then got trapped in a meeting where all they had to eat was pizza. I had the smallest piece and didn't eat the outer crust, and still lost 2 lbs.! I will continue the next three days! -
Don't Know What To Eat !
SleeveDreamer replied to kayte819's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, light cheese sticks, deli turkey slices with slice of cheese on WASA crackers (low carb). StarKist sandwich Ready albacore tuna in the pouch. 3 1/2 oz. and very tasty. Put on a WASA cracker and half a slice of cheese on top and put in toaster oven for a minute or so, and have a tuna melt! Also turkey chili and rotisserie chicken (darker meat is better than white.) 3 turkey meatballs with some marinara sauce. Laughing cow cheese wedges. Lots of beans!
