Where can you buy Dreamfields? Someone else was also talking about it. -
My doctor told me even if you are cleared for rice, eat slowly since sushi rice could possibly get stuck or swell. Tried it, sbut snce my surgery don't have a taste for it anymore!

How Many Calories Do You Eat Daily?
SleeveDreamer replied to CJinMichigan's topic in Food and Nutrition
I am 15 weeks out and can barely get in over 800 calories a day. But I feel great and I am still losing. 18 pounds to my goal. -
I just came from Costco and they were just putting out these 2-pack bowls of salads by Ready Pac. They had Chicken Ceasar (230 cal.), Santa Fe Chicken, and Spinach Dijon (with hb eggs, cranberries, almonds) (280 cal). I didn't get the Santa Fe one. They are 4.89 for a 2-pack and are complete with dressing and a fork in 4.75 oz. bowls, so that's only 2.45 a lunchh, and you could always add a little of the cooked ready to eat chicken breast strips they also sell for the ones that don't have chicken. I am eating one now with 2 Parmesan Crisps sticks from Trader Joe's and it is so good, I feel like I am in a restaurant. Ready Pac is definitely looking out for us sleevers! Great lunch idea for you who work and have to take a lunch.

I am 3 months and one week! But I could have salads at 8 weeks. Your time will come; don't worry!

Need Voices Of Experience- Obsessing Over Mfp
SleeveDreamer replied to Dooter's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was told to stop logging because then it would seem like I was on a life-long diet and that's not what this is all about. I find it easier for me to lose if I don't log my food and weigh each day. That way I can see if I am staying on track by my weight. I have never gained any since. I seem to lose more when I don't log my food, because, again, it makes me think like I am on a diet and that is a mental trigger for me and adds to stress because then I OBSESS! I am not on a diet. I have changed my eating plan drastically for the rest of my life. If for some reason I was to gain a pound, then I would know what I ate yesterday that could have caused it. But I cannot even get in 900 calories a day and I am just over 3 months out, so I know I am not over eating or eating the wrong things. It just depends on what works for you and I will always be an everyday weigher! Everyone's body reacts differently so you need to do what works for you! -
San Diego, California Anyone?
SleeveDreamer replied to BubbysMeema's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I live in San Clemente but had my surgery at Scripps in La Jolla with Dr. Bhoyrul. -
I hope Sleevina is feeling better this afternoon! LOL!

No eggs bother me. But I like the egg whites in the carton. Add some shreedded cheese and Nature's Seasons and maybe they won't bother you.

When you get there, try romaine, butter, or bibb lettuce. I find I do not like to eat iceberg lettuce anymore. Seems too hard to chew or something. You really concentrate on chewing since you are sleeved, so you need something that is easier to chew.

Still haven't heard anything from babigrl111 (she started our December Sleevers thread. I hope she is OK. Has anyone heard from her? She just has disappeared!

Maybe the restriction on the amount of food they will be able to eat will cramp their "party life style!" Actually, I never even heard of this surgery at all until I had an upper GI at my doctor and found out 1/3 of my stomach had protruded through my diaprahgm and was lodged between my lungs and had to be fixed, so I don't think alot of people may be aware of it.

I can see why you need to "drink" alot most of the day so you stay hydrated and then when you get to mushies or soft foods, you should eat every three hours or so (no more than 4 oz.) and continually drink the rest of the time. You should be concentrating on protein shakes and mushies if he has cleared you for that. When you get to soft/solid foods, there are alot of options that are easy to take with you like cheese sticks, cottage cheese, StarKist sandwich ready albacore tuna iun a pouch that does not have to be refrigerated, hard boiled eggs, etc. But it's hard for me to understand why you would be eating real food at three weeks. I have never heard of that. Your sleeve needs time to heal before it starts taking in solid regular food. If you are on pureed foods, you can still have all the sf jello or sf pudding or yogurt you want and those are considered full liquids.

Take That Stall! (With Pics) And Nsv To Boot!
SleeveDreamer replied to Dooter's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations. You looke great and must be sooo happy! -
Yesterday i bought a package of Amylu Chicken Burgers with carmelized onions and gouda from Costco. There are 10 in the pack, and they are wrapped in packs of 2 each. I left out two for our lunch today and froze the rest. They are sooo good and moist and very tasty I just put them on the grill for a few minutes. I have been having trouble with chicken not being moist enough for me after my sleeve, but these definitely are. Give them a try!

Just Made The Yummiest Snack!
SleeveDreamer replied to nancy_marie_00's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds good! -
Slimes is when you eat something too fast or the bites aren's small enough and something gets stuck on the way down. You feel some obstrcution and then you start spitting some slimy saliva from your mouth just for a few minutes.. Then most of the time you upchuck whatever it was (come out just like a jack-in-the-box)! No effort or anything. Then it is over. Actually the first time I had it I had eaten a Vlasic Snack'mm dill pickle. I ate it way to fast cuz it tasted so good. Happens every once in awhile you you find yourself eating too fast.
-
I'm sorry. I read it wrong. DUH! As long as it is just a piece of slice you will probably be OK. eat it slow though. I seeen several posts on here where they have said pickles got stuck and then slimes, but I have never had a problem with them.

You probably won't be able to eat bread. I wasn't cleared for bread until 10 weeks and it had to be toasted.
