I Want Starbucks! Help
SleeveDreamer replied to Jenpooh21's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
What does soy milk taste like? I might try one. -
This just shows that you now have the will power you didn't have before! I am not a sweet tooth person, I am a salty crunchy person. Now instead of eating 2 baskets of chips at a mexican restaurant I eat two chips and that's all! Congrats!

This sounds like a good plan!

Thanks Cheri! I saw some cute black skirts at nordstrom yesterday, but didn't have my size. -
I eat the natural JIF simply because is is much lower sodium.

Carbonated Drinks and Fried Foods
SleeveDreamer replied to Larae's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My doctor says that the sleeve cannot be stretched. The part of the stomach with the stretcy tissue has all been removed. He says some doctors say that as a scare tactic. He says carbonation will may simply make you too gaseous and perhaps cause stomach aches, so to me it isn't worth it. I was a diet pepsi fanatic and stopped cold turkey a month before my surgery. Now all I drink is water flavored with Mio flavoring. Don't even crave sodas at all anymore. -
My how we change, don't we? LOL!

1St Day Home From Hospital
SleeveDreamer replied to Anewlifeforme23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You shouldn't be eating anything at this point. Try some low sodium Wyler's chicken boullion. You will find it better to have warm or room temp liquids rather than very cold or on ice at this early stage. Try SF jelloe or SF pops. Your sleeve needs to heal. iIt is still swollen so treat it with care and you will be OK. Your food time will come, don't worry. -
OOH stay away from that sugar! I do miss apple fritters. Haven't had any sweets since November. My surgery was 12/14 and I don't even crave them.
-
I wasn't allowed peanut butter until 10 weeks. The doctor said no PB until your sleeve is healed, but I don't know why. Now I eat Natural JIF Low Sodium. Have some on brown rices cakes everyday. 2 TBLSP. is a seving, but I just put a very thin layer on each rice cake and it satisfies me. Actually this is the only thing I crave and before surgery I never ate it much. It's funny how your tatse buds change after surgery.

I Want Starbucks! Help
SleeveDreamer replied to Jenpooh21's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I don't want to tell you what I used to have from there! HA! But, now I have a tall Skinny Vanilla Latte 90 calories, or a Tall Skinny Caramel Macchiato 110 calories. I am losing weight steadily and coffee acts as kind of a laxative for me! Both are made with non-fat milk and sugar free vanilla syrup. They also make the Skinny Caramel Macciato on ice which is very good too. Stick to the tall which is the smallest. You don't need the grande or venti and these skinny drinks will satisfy you just as well! -
I like either the Premier Protein from Costco (case of 18) or Pure Protein in the bottle from Wal Mart. They are both RTD and taste good. Muscle Milk Light tastes good, but way too sweet for my taste.
-
I eat three meals, and a snack inbetween or a RTD protein shake. But for a snack I usually have a cheese stick. I try to stay at 4 - 6 oz. for my meals til I reach my goal which is only 12 lbs. away! Love my sleeve!

Hiatal Hernia Question.
SleeveDreamer replied to besquared1426's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a horrible hiatial nernia repaired during my sleeve surgery. 1/3 of my stomach was up through my diaphragm. I was happy to say though I did not experience and pain or complications from that either. Just alot of coughing for several weeks while the diaphragm repair heals. -
I could eat protein all day with no problem. But I am a little over 4 months out and can't get much over 800 calories in. I was told to stay between 800-900 until I get to my goal.

Not Able To Eat As Much In The Past Few Days.
SleeveDreamer replied to New1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Slimes is when you have alot of slimy saliva all of a sudden that you keep spiting out. It is usually followed by throwing up just a little. Normally first you get a feeling like you have somethig stuck. This is caused by eating too fast or too much. -
Try to wean off of aspirin and ibuprofen cuz you will not be able to take it after surgery. You will need to switch to Tylenol. You need to drink more water.
