This Entire Time I Thought I Was Alone

I am glad to hear that you are making this change at such a young age. Although you are young enough to be my great grand daughter! You have made the right decision and kudos to you for realizing this now and getting on track for a healthier life ahead. Good luck!

    Pre-Op Diet

If you want watermelon flavor, buy some Mio strwaberry watermelon flavoring! I love it and drink it all day long! After surgery, I find that watermelon fills me up really fast so I can't eat alot at one time. I get kind of a bloating feeling.

    Sugar Free Chocolate Bar

No problem. I hope you can find someplace close to you that carries them. I paid 1.99 each. Not bad, cuz they will last a long time.

    Sugar Free Chocolate Bar

Someone posted before about some sugar free dark chocolate bars from Trader Joe's. I bought one last week and they are really good. Although I never like dark chocolate before, I do now. they are sugar free and carb free (I can't remember how many calories, I don't have the wrapper anymore). There are 4 servings per bar, but each serving has 3 little squares you can break off, so you can just eat one of those. Just something to keep around for an added treat. It will last a long time!

    Sugar Free Chocolate Bar

Here is the website for these. http://www.simplylitefoods.com/ The sugar-free one is dark chocolate and gluten free also. Only 1g net carb. Maybe you can contact them directly to see where to find them in your area. My husband is diabetic, so I basically bought it for him at first. But I love the taste too. Didn't think I would ever eat dark chocolate! I know this sounds dumb, but since I eat a tiny square every other day (1/3 of one serving) I have not been in a stall.

Be careful with fruit. Too much sugar and carbs in most! Best to find some sf fruit flavoring.

Scrambled Egg - 2 Weeks Out

    Cream Of Wheat

ii was not allowed regular foods til 6 weeks but not bread, rice, or Pasta til 12 weeks because they expand and swell. It takes your sleeve 12 weeks to heal according to my doctor. Please be careful if you start eating anything at 2 weeks. I am no doctor, but I have never heard of that so soon. Good luck.

  24. I certainly did not mean anything rude about the post I made. I was just clearly stating in support that this is a lifestyle chage and you need to have your mindset that in order to be successful and healthy, you need to follow guidleines. The pre op diet is done to prevent complications with the surgery (an enlarged liver, etc) and also assures that the stomach does not contain food or waste. As another member stated, this is just the beginning of the journey, and two weeks is basically nothing compared to the next several months after surgery. The pre-op diet gives you a taste and a chance to start limiting your food intake. This will make it much easier for you after surgery. There will be alot of restrictions and changes you must make in order to to successful. But it is a commitment, and if you have decided to make this decision, it will be much easier for you in the long run, since it starts with pre-op. Everything I have said has been totally in support to help you realize this, as well as some of the other posts others have made. Not to upset you or call everyone else names, which I think is very uncalled for on this forum. We are all here to help each other. You may not agree with the response, but please don't think that we are here to hurt anyone's feelings. We have just been through it already and know what you are looking at in the months to come and want to share our advice.
  25. The preop diet is to shrink your liver. The length is probably based on the amount of weight you have to lose. You should not cheat on this, if you do you will find yourself attempting to cheat post op. You may encounter complications also. If you want to eat on the preop liquid diet, perhaps you are not ready to go through with this surgery at all. It is only yourself you are hurting in the long run. You have to have the mindset that you are going to have to make severe changes in your eating habits, before and after. It starts with pre op.
