Feel Like I'm A Failure
SleeveDreamer replied to mufasas-mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do not get discouraged. You CANNOT compare your weight loss to others, since everyone is different. There is no way you will not lose with your food instake the way it must be and the size of your srtomach. The people who have more weight to lose, will lose faster. That is a doctors fact. The fact that you are losing inches is a success in itself. Ask yourself when is the last time you lost 15 lbs. on your own and lost inches like you have on your own? Be happy for those accomplishments and don't be so hard on yourself. In a few months you will realize what a great decision you have made and will feel and look better than ever. I have aceraged a loss of 7-8 lbs. a month before I reached my goal, but that was steady and has stayed off. Everyone's metabolism rate is different, so please try to be happy with the success you have had. Stop weighing yourself so much then, and concentrate on your inches you have lost. It doesn't happen overnight for anyone, but you must think positive and stay on track. Don't give up. -

Stall Or Am I Done?
SleeveDreamer replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No you are not done! I am on maintennace and still losing cuz I can't get me calorie intake up to where it should be (1,200 per day). How many more lbs. do you want to lose? 125 lbs. is an awesome weight loss. Try decreasing your calories back down to about 800-900 and try decreasing your carbs to about 30g a day. It can be done. i never had over 30g of carbs a day while I was losing. I have changed my habits so much, I can't even get in the 150g of carbs I need to maintain. Try LilMissDivas boot camp for 5 days (on here). Also I don't know how far away you are from your goal, but my doctor says the closer you are the harder to lose, since your body is fighting you. The boot camp cuts out all carbs, and has lots of protein and tons of water and green veggies only for 5 days. Also try doing some interval training excercises. My doctor has me on my treadmill 35 min a day. (Or atleast 3 times a week). You do 2 mph for 1 minute, then 3 mph for 5 minute, then 4 mph for 1 minute. Then you repeat this 7 minute cycle 4 more times for a total of 35 minutes. This is great for burning off excess fat and losing inches too and boosting your metabolism and also gets your pulse rate up and is more beneficial than just getting on and trying to go 3 or 4 mph for 35 minutes. Good luck. Sounds like you have done a great job so far! -
Proud Of Myself
SleeveDreamer replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Proud of you! I know what you mean. When I was on a liquid preop we had company and went to this great restaurant and everyone had all these appetizers and great meals, and I had butternut squash soup and took my sugar-free jello and RTD protein drink with with me! Told the waiter I was having surgery and on a liquid diet and he actually bent over backwards to see if he could find something exciting for me to drink! Don't worry your time will come. Just do what you are supposed to do and your time will be here before you know it! -
Before And After I Hope It Worked

You look awesome and looks like you luv to shop as much as I do now! LOL! -
My limit while I was losing was no more than 800 per day. Now that I am on maintenance it is 1200 per day which is very hard for me. I can barely still get in 900 or so. I will have an rtd protein drink to add to my calories each day, and will probaly up that to 2 per day just to make sure I get closer to my calorie intake so I won't keep losing.

If you eat too fast, your food tries to get into your tummy too fast. You will get the slimes and a stuck feeling in your chest area. All you need to do to relieve it is go to try to throw up in the toilet and it will upchuck and pop right put for instant relief. There is really no nausea or " I need to throw up feeling first".

Protein Shakes - Are They A Forever Thing?
SleeveDreamer replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just over 10 months and at my goal and still have an RTD protein drink daily. It fills me up the afternoon and also adds some calories besides protein to my daily intake as I still have trouble getting in my allowable calories daily. I never used the powdered, always the RTD. -
What Is The Best Tasting Chocolate Protien Mix?

I could never stand the taste of powdered. I only used chocolate Premier Protein RTD drink from Costco or Pure Protein RTD drink in the bottle. -

How Do I Set A Goal?
SleeveDreamer replied to brennie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually your doctor sets a goal weight based on your height and frame. my NUT didn't set mine. -
If you are still losing watch your carbs. That is as many as I dould have in one day while I was still losing.

Whats The Reason To Chew So Much?
SleeveDreamer replied to jentheyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't necessarily feel nauseous or feel like you are going to barf. In fact you may not even feel like you are going to throw up. So you need to try to and I can guarantee you will just chuck a little bit up and the stuck feeling is gone. I feel it in my upper chest not my intestines. -
Whats The Reason To Chew So Much?
SleeveDreamer replied to jentheyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you get something stuck, it will be from eating too fast and not chewing enough so it is too large. Kind of feels like you have a rock there or something! When you feel that, go to the toilet and try to throw up and it will pop right out and then you will feel fine. You will also probably get the slimes at the same time. It only last for a couple minutes. -
So Regretful......
SleeveDreamer replied to redsoxgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You must constantly sip when you are not eating. Perhaps you need an acid reducer, so ask your doctor for a prescription one. They tend to be more effective than over the counter ones. i must say I never had any pain or nausea and never had any regrets at all. I am 10 months out and already at my goal. You will forget all about what you are going through now. When you start losing inches you will be so happy and will turn your focus on getting rid of those big clothes and buying some new ones. Then you also will be asking ourself why you didn't do it sooner. Some people just react to surgery differently than others, that's all. You will need to eat every couple of hours at first to feel full, and that is fine but you must drink constantly so you won't get dehydrated. -
Whats The Reason To Chew So Much?
SleeveDreamer replied to jentheyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to chew alot to break the food down since if you swallow too large of a piece, it may get stuck since your tummy is so small, may not be able to have larger pieces just go into our tummy like before. If you get something stuck, you will know it and get the slimes for a few minutes until you chuck it up. Chewing also helps you slow down on your eating. I ate so fast before, I probably never chewed my food. Since you can't eat that much at one time now, you should take as long as you can to eat, especially if ou don't want anything to get stuck. -
Size 2 Jeans At 10 Month Surgiversary
SleeveDreamer posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Tomorrow will be my 10 month surgiversary. I had gone from a size 18 jeans to a size 4 skinny jeans. (I have always had very skinny legs.) Yesterday I put on a pair of 4 skinny's I bought a about a month ago but never had worn since they were still a little tight then. And guess what? THEY ARE TOO BIG! I returned them since I never took the tags off and still had the receipt stuck in the pocket and tried on a pair of size 2 and they fit perfectly! I can't believe it! I was so shocked to be in a 4, and now I am blown away from the size 2 skinny's! It is so nice to put on a pair of jeans and zip up the zipper with no problem, and feel comfy all day! I never wore jeans before cuz it was so much of a hassle to get them on and they actually hurt while I was wearing them (and that was also with wearing a flexees or a spanx). I am on maintenance now since I have reached my goal, so I need to make sure I listen to my NUT and start eating more carbs (she said up to 150g per day on maintenance) and boost my calories to 1,200 per day so I won't keep losing! I love my sleeve so much! I wish all of you the success I have had! -

Size 2 Jeans At 10 Month Surgiversary
SleeveDreamer replied to SleeveDreamer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No I really don't. I have had the famous "hysterectomy apron" since 1984', and I must say that is even looking much better, which I thought was impossible! I have a little wrinlkeness (is that a word) on the inside of my upper underarms, but really no flab, and I feel great wearing tanks and sleeveless now. I consider myself lucky! -

I haven't used MFP for quite awhile because in my mind I didn't want to feel like I was on a diet and that's how I felt while using it. Although at first, when I started eating regular foods, I used it and I I thought it was a great tool. I will ad you as a friend on here though! thanks and good luck! -
I was able to drink coffee at 1 week out (decaf of course). Bariatric Advantage has a new iced coffee out called ProJoe and it is very good. Tastes like a Starbuck's iced latte.

A slider food is something with basically no nutritional value that you can eat and eat and eat without feeling full, so you need to stop after just a tiny bit!
