I know some of you have said the taste of some of the BA chewables is bad, however, I take two chewable multi vitamins with the chewable iron that has kind of a sweet tart taste and chew all three together and you can only taste the iron one that way.

Feel Like I'm A Failure
SleeveDreamer replied to mufasas-mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a history of kidney stones. If you are taking calcium you may need to stop if your stones are calcium oxalate. I have callxium oxalate stones and cannot take any calcium supplements. Your doctor can give you flomax ( even if ou are female) and it will make your urine flow much stronger, and can possibly make the stone move by forceful urination and may help wear down a sharp side of the stone. DO NOT drink cranberry juice. It is good for urinary tract infections but NOT for kidney stones. Good luck. Sometimes unfirtunately it takes them awhile. The last one I passed took 23 days to pass. I pray this doesn't happen to you. Good lluck. -
Before And After 5 Weeks!
SleeveDreamer replied to SoonToBeThinKAT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow you have really lost inches as well. Congrats. -
I have been using Bariatric Advantage chewable vitamins for over 10 months. i also take their Vitamin D gels and their chewable iron. At first I tried the berry flavor (cuz my docotr office sold those) and hated it so bad, I don't know how I got through 180 of them. But I went there (they are close to me) and tried the different flavors, and now I use the Vanilla ones. I love them. So I take all of these mentioned plus B12 sublingual everyday and have no rpoblems or issues with taste. have you tried the Bariatric Advantage or did you have a different brand? They also have a website or can order by phone and they are great to work with.

Week 4 Doing Great!
SleeveDreamer replied to ArtSong's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's awesome news. Just remember that now you must really chew to make sure you are not trying to swallow too large of bites so you won't get that stuck feeling and the slimes. It's easy to do once you start eating regular foods again. It takes 12 weeks for your staple line to heal so just be careful. You have alot to choose from so hope you have fun exploring your foods! You may find your tastebuds have changed a little too. Go for it! -
Love the style!

This Is A Disgusting Post, Please Only Readif You're Ok With Explicit Fces Talk!

I remember at first the consistency of my stool was like clay. I am 10 months out and sometimes I have the same trouble "getting it to come out and seems stuck"! I bought some stool softener to keep and it really makes a difference. Try getting some just to keep and it will make you much more comfortable. Hope you are feeling better now. What a bummer! -
Caffeine doesn't bother me either, but I drink decaf because for some reasom caffeine makes me hungrier!
-
Caffeine is not recomended after the sleeve since it causes dehyration.
-
Does 5 Hour Energy have alot of sugar and/or caffeine in it? If not, what gives you the boost?
-
Amen to that! LOL!

The best way for me to drink that much Water is to flavor it with MIO flavoring (WalMart Great Value brand is much cheaper). I can't stand the taste of plain water sinvce my surgery but I use this in strawberry/watermelon flavor and i don't have trouble drinking about 6 bottles a day! Try it!

I Have A Question About Going To The Bathroom
SleeveDreamer replied to WingsOfAButterfly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told if that happened to start having an envelope of Miralax everyday in my protein drink or whatever I am drinking. you can actually put it on oatmeal and stuff too. I never tried it since it didn't happen, but i did buy some to keep on hand. It is tasteless powder. I think it is fiber and supposed to make you regular. I never tried it cuz it didn't happen but i did but some to keep on hand. -
You say part of it is not comparing yourself to others through numbers? Amount of pounds lost is a number, your weight is a number, your BMI is a number, how many months out is a number, your new measurements are numbers, your clothing sizes are numbers, your age is a number, your blood pressure is a number, your glucose reading is a number. You don't have to compare yourself to others anyway. This is not a game or a race with others. It is all about our health whether there are numbers involved or not, but obviously there are. Who is making it all about numbers? Not any of us here.
-
Sorry you are so unhappy but I don't understand why. You say you don't like the numbers thing, but you have a weight loss ticker so isn't that a little contradictary? You seem to have been successful in the weight you have lost, but then you say even if you don't lose another pound you would be satisfied? It seems like there may be another issue other than this site making you upset about something. I also find it odd that if you are so unhappy with us here, that you would even take the time for your post and have the nerve to ask us how to delete your account when all you would have to do is ask Alex for assistance. But instead you had to make some insulting comments. We have all had decisions to make and all have either gone through this lready, or soon will be. This site has been so helpful to me and others and we are going through this together and trying to give advice to those who ask for it. I honestly do not understand what you are talking about, but if you choose to leave, why not just do it quietly than announce it and wait for a reply? Congrats on you loss so far, but I really think that this site has probably helped you get there more than you care to admit for some reason. Hopefully your post won't deter new people and keep them from seeing how supportive and helpful this site really is, since the entire jist of your post is extremely negative.

Caffeine can dehydrate you and at first, can slow healing of your stomach. I drink decaf only with no problems. Although there is no way I would ever get dehydrated anyway since I drink almost a gallon of water a day!
-
Wow you look great! I luv your blue outfit. Very cute! Keep it up!

6 Months - 126 Lbs W/ Photos
SleeveDreamer replied to hollirrose's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow congrats on your success! That's an awesome weight loss for 6 months. Looks like you are right on track to getting to whatever goal you have with no problem. Good for you!l -
I was allowed decaf at 1 week.
-
Calories aren't important right now. You need to concentrate on drinking so you won't get dehydrated, and focus on protein drinks. When you get to regular foods, you can start keeping track of calories. There is no way you aren't going to lose so don't worry about that!
