When I was allowed bread, it had to be toasted. otherwise it knots up and may get stuck. Although don't be so anxious to try it. I find that it fills you up too much and too fast. You need to concentrate on protein first, then veggies, then starches if you have room, and if you are like me, you won't have room. I don't even want or eat bread anymore at all, and I too was anxious for that day. Don't even miss it.

I was allowed shrimp at 12 weeks when I was put on regular foods. Never had any problems at all with it.

Trader Joe's has a box of Jumbo Colossal Shrimp in their frozen food section. These are awesome! They taste like lobster! We had them tonight so I can't tell you the calories and protein cuz my husband already took the trash out but they are soo good. There were 19 in this box for 16 oz. cook for 13 minutes until shell is red. They are open like scampi would look but laying in their shell. I eat 4 or 5 at the most. They are good size. Dip in a little melted butter. LOVE! So if oh are by yourself, you could get four meals out of one box.

Still waiting for your ceviche recipe!

This bread is disgusting. I bought it at Whole foords. About 10.00 a loaf. Has to be refrigerated. i through the whole loaf away after I tasted it. there are much better options if you are far enough out to eat bread!

I buy mine at Costco. They have a brand called Pacifc Gold that is a bag of individual bags. they are 1.25 each and have 14g protein. I have one every afternoon and take one with me in the car when I know I am going to be out running errands cuz I can snack on it as I drive. Wasn't allowed to have it until 12 weeks when i was allowed steak.

Omg! I Don't Like Greek Yogurt...
SleeveDreamer replied to MsThickSlimSexy's topic in Food and Nutrition
Oh that's not the same . I eat the light and fit in purple but it is not greek. Maybe will try this one. I don't really care about the protein in it since I go way over anyway. Thanks for telling me about this one! -

i use the Danon Fit and Light in the purple too, but it is not Greek yogurt. -
i am 62 and almost 11 months out. There is no way I can eat like I used to. With 85% of your stomach gone, you won't have to worry about it. It's hard to imagine until you start eating regular food and realize how your habits have changed. There is no way you can digest as much food as you did before. Also your taste buds may change a little, and you won't crave things like you did before. Please don't worry about it and take it day by day and yo will be fine. There is no way you won't lose.

SleeveDreamer replied to Kmasden's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What a great story. Thanks for sharing. I am almost 11 months and love my sleeve. You will love yours I am sure. I too had extensive esophagus repair done at the same time. I feel as though my doctor saved my life and gave me a second chance. Good luck to you. -
Omg! I Don't Like Greek Yogurt...
SleeveDreamer replied to MsThickSlimSexy's topic in Food and Nutrition
I have wasted so much money in 10 month on trying every brand and flavor I think of Greek yogurt! . I simply cannot stand the taste! I take one taste, and in the trash it goes. I am through with it! Kudos to all of you who can stand the taste. I have to spend my money now on new clothes and can't waste anymore on this stuff! LOL! -
Sounds great! Can you share your recipe for your ceviche since it is the best?

Since I am not a real fish eater, but have always loved shrimp, I now eat it constantly! Like Bubba gump said you can prepare it so many ways and never get tired of it. I am still trying to find some different ways.

How Many Carbs Are You Eating?
SleeveDreamer replied to TheNewSusie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be nervous. When you get to regular foods, you should be able to eat anything if your sleeve handles it. I am a little over 10 months out and to my goal. I can eat anything! My sleeve must be made of steel cuz nothing bothers it. There may be some things you find you don't even want anymore. In my case, my taste buds changed a little. You will just need to eat much less (because you have to cuz you can't eat a lot) and eat in moderation, and drink a lot. You will be able to go out to eat and everything with no problem, so everything will be fine. Don't even think now of what you will be able to eat later. Think about how much healthier you will be and what great things you are doing for your body and the rest of your life. Good luck on your journey! -
Great accomplichmnet! Congrats!
