Excercise challenge please I havnt done any in ages ... -
Congrats on the 2 pound loss Audrey. Hello everyone else. First day of food today (well legit food) - I just had sushi - it has never tasted so good before. I put on 1 kilo in the mushie stage but Im back on the wagon now and hope Ill lose weight - so many more options than in the mushie stage.
-
Hi Guys, I am getting soooo frustrated. I dont have any restriction at all. I was banded on 24th February and should still be on mushies but Im just not getting full. I can eat a tonne. Tonight I went out with friends for lebanese and tried to stick to mushies but I didnt, I ate solids and almost as much as I would have done before the band. Why is this not working for me? I feel like an absolute failure. I have no self control. Im really scared Ive done myself some damage, ie my band slipped, port flipped etc ... I know most people dont feel severe restriction until their first fill but Im not feeling any at all ... :phanvan :faint: :phanvan :faint: :phanvan :faint: :phanvan

Hi guys, How is everyone doing? I havent posted in ages as Ive been flat out with work. Im doing ok, i started to put weight on when I hit mushies and just couldnt get full. I was sooooo hungry so I started to take reductil but that gave me severe trapped wind and my belly bloated out so Im now back to normal and just trying to be good. Today I was at a catered work thing and all there was was sandwiches and I was starving and couldnt get anything else so I ate half a sandwich and the tuna mayonnaise filling out of the other half but it went down perfectly and I could have eaten another one - Im a bit concerned about that - is that normal? My port is really sticking out now too so Im hoping it hasnt flipped. I dont get my fill for ages due to easter and my dr being away around the time I should be getting it so I plan to check in here everyday so you guys can keep me on track ... I need YOU ALL ha ha

Post lapband, pre first fill and taking appetite suppresants
November Lily posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Guys, I am in my soft foods stage but still several weeks off my first fill. I just cannot get full and with the limited options on what I can eat, I am starting to put weight on. I still have some appetite suppresants left over and am wondering if it is ok to take them? It is reductil. Has anyone else done this? Is it dangerous to do so? Any help would be HUGELY appreciated. Thanks Lily x -
Post lapband, pre first fill and taking appetite suppresants

Thanks for the answers guys. Amourette, i intend to fully succeed with the band, once I have a fill I will stop taking them but until then I have started them again. I didnt eat half as much as the day before, however I did feel really gassy all day which isnt a good thing - not sure if it is related. will find out today I guess. -
I just cant seem to fill up today? My head hunger is excruciating too. Today I have eaten (its now 730pm and intend to stop) 2 x actimel yogurt drinks 2 x cups of bouillion 2 x cups of tomato soup 1 x cup of ham and pea soup (I chewed and chewed and chewed some of the ham in the soup - naughty I know) lots of water. Yesterday I ate 1 x actimel yogurt 1 x soya drink (low fat) 1 x tomato soup 1 x pomegranate juice 2 x low fat milk iced lolly things (they are tiny) Please tell me if that is too much? Im terrified of eating too much. ps: Im on my fifth day since being banded. Thanks in advance Lily xx

Sussanah, Im so sorry to hear about your complication. I hope it all works out for you. How annoying. My complaint seems pretty pathetic in comparison but I am so angry at myself. I had my follow up appointment today and I had advanced to thicker liquids too early. I thought it was one week liquids, one week thicker liquids like creamy type soups (low fat) and then on to mushies. Its not, it was suppossed to be two weeks clear liquids, two weeks muchies/thicker liquids then solid food. Im worried I have done some damage. I also ate some fish cakes the other night when out with friends at a place with no soup, and a bit of bread the other day at lunch dipped in my soup, i felt fine but now worried. My weight has also plateaued I guess maybe as a result of the extra food?

From what I can gather from reading the forums, everyone had different rules set by their doctors regarding the different food stages. My doctor said, a week of purely Clear liquids, then creamier Soups for a week (so two weeks liquid), then two weeks mushies, then normal food. What did your doctor tell you to do? Did anyone not stick totally to their doctors rules? I admit I havent, I started creamier soups earlier than I should have and have chewed and chewed a few spoonfulls of friends food - still soft though. I hope I havent messed up. (once I get more options I will add a poll) Lily x

Welcome Momlambert. Im a newbie too. Banded on 24th Feb. Im doing ok, only slight shoulder pain now but not enough that I need painkillers. I went out with friends last night and whilst they had a bottle of wine I had two glasses of red and no dinner (none of us had dinner). Came home starving and so ate some mushroom soup and a low fat choc mousse, this was around 10pm. Today Ive only lost 0.2 pounds. Im so annoyed at myself as I went straight back to old habits.. Admittedly it wasnt a bottle of wine and a kebab but still. :faint:

Janiee, Ive just read this thread and want to wish you all the luck in the world. I hope everything works out exactly how you would like it to. :clap2:
-
Congrats Rebecca. I was one day after you. How are you feeling?
-
Hi bwaydiva and kilopitre and everyone else. Im feeling great. Now 7 days since Ive been banded. Ive lost 5.8 kilos (12.8 pounds) and am very happy. My stomach is still quite swollen due to the gas and my port site is a little irratating (though not too painful) My clothes feel loser except around my stomach but hopefully that will change soon. My face is definitely a bit slimmer, but nothing new really as Im at the weight now I usually yoyo between, just need to get past it. Im getting pretty sick of the liquids and have introduced some creamier Soups, even chewed a few spoonfulls of friends food when we have been out (naughty I know). Other than feeling full I feel fine. Just been for an hour and half walk through London on a beautiful winters day so am feeling pretty positive. Tonight will be hard, poker with some male buddies which would usually mean beer, Ill treat myself to a glass of red wine though (I hope that is ok in liquid stage?) How is everyone else going?

How soon did everyone start excercising after
November Lily replied to roxy123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ive noticed a few people say they were told not to weight lift for 3 months, does this include small handweights for bicep and tricep curls?? :omg: -
I didnt. Id love the pictures though. Infact I havent had an xray of my band yet. Is that unusual? I had a new form of band where there are squares all around it that they sew into place to stop any slippage. Has anyone else had this one? How are you feeling Bikergirl?

Hey Guys, Just checking in. Its exactly a week since I was banded and I feel pretty good. Ive pulled my bandaids off and my incisions are healing pretty well. Im getting a little over the liquid stage and have introduced a few creamy Soups (with a bit of watering down) so feel a bit better, cant wait to get onto muchies in another week though. I still havent started an excercise regime but promised myself Id start on Monday. Ive still lost 5.8 kilos (12.8 pounds) so far anyway but I imagine that a bit of that will come back on on the mushie stage. Is that usual? Last night I was a bit naughty, I had a spoonfull of my friends spagetti bolognaise and chewed, chewed, chewed to death. Felt fine juts very full. After our movie I had half a glass of red wine (I would have normally had half the bottle or more or beer which is what he had - killed me). Im not sure if we are allowed to have alcohol in the liquid stage, anyone know? I felt fine just a bit tipsy but I put that down to lack of food. (With my bowl of Soup and half a glass of red wine, he joked I was the cheapest date Id ever been - true ha ha) Anyway just wanted to check in to keep me on the right path. Lily x

Hi Tracy, Hope you are well. Can you please add me to the list. I was banded 24th Feb. Thank you Lily

I am seriously considering having a lapband (already seen the surgeon) but the one thing I am worried about is the no liquids whilst eating. I work in a very social industry which involves alot of cocktail parties/client dinners etc and am thinking it will be impossible to not drink whilst eating. Im not just talking alcohol but Water aswell. Im willing to try my hardest and certainly wont drink when at home, I just know that I will find it hard when out. How strict do you have to be with that? Thanks guys x
-
Thanks for all the replies about Water with soup etc on the liquid stage - Im not going to do it from today. I just had Breakfast (1 x activel) and have another hr before I can have water - I WILL do it ha ha) I too was a self payer and just know this is going to be the best thing I have done. So far, so good. Sorry to hear about your grandma Audree. My prayers are with you. Good luck Teatime

ok I knew Id have lots of questions, you never should have offered ha ha. but ... I am wondering if you can drink water whilst eating soup etc on the liquid stage. I assume yes since it is all liquid but thought it best to check... anyone?
