Why do complete multis have iron AND calcium?
kgb replied to Rainydayz's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Indymom, I'm seriously thinking about purchasing the Bariatric Advantage Calcium Crystals, but would love some feedback first. Are they truly unflavored? I like your idea to add them to coffee! Any advise is welcome. I'm just so darn sick of my current calcium regime. I need something easier. -
hey, i'm with you. be proactive! i hope everything goes smoothly and you are okay!! good luck and keep us posted!

Those are the BEST NSV I've ever read! I completely understand where you are coming from....my last cut before my surgery I almost tipped over in the salon chair when I was getting seated. I was so embarrassed and my hairdresser was shocked. After reading your post, I can't wait to go back and see how easy it is to sit in those chairs!!!! I'm so happy for you!!! Thx for the pics. You look beautiful! There are more NSVs to come, too!!!

1 Yr Out, Starving, Even After A Protein Shake, Help?
kgb replied to AMLP's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm with BigDaddyDLow, I've been advised to not to drink 30 min before or after eating. Also, protein drink never "stick" for obvious reasons, so I get hungrier faster if I use them too much. Can you call you doc before Feb and get some advice? -
I love Avgolemono Soup! Thx for the recipe. I gotta try it!

Wooooooohoooo! Congrats on your surgery!!!!!! I'm so happy you are doing well! I didn't have any gas problems, but my nausea was super bad. I had to stay in the hospital longer than expected, but they did everything possible to help me manage. You are very fortunate to have a nurse who has been through the procedure. I think he/she will be the greatest ally during you're stay! Take care and keep us posted!

It's Hard To Be Patient When I Want To Be A Patient. :)
kgb replied to Tif 2.0's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Learn something new everyday! Yeah, I had to do a 6 month medically supervised, too. I didn't do so well on it. I can get the guidelines of my pre-op plan and share it with you. It's awesome you are gung ho! You're so close! I love that you call your post-op self Tiff 2.0. -

You're surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet? That's setting off my alarms. -
My scale started acting weird (e.g., error messages) a couple of weeks ago. I changed the batteries and it still didn't fix it. i bought a new and improved scale. I hope yours is just batteries.

I guess I was kind of lucky in that I had a very busy day before surgery. You're taking a big step into a wonderful world! Good luck and keep us posted!

2 Weeks Without Any Weight Loss
kgb replied to mariemadeline's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've stalled out, too. I had surgery Dec 6, 2011 and for the past week the scale has gone up and down 2 lbs, but I can break the stall. I'm sad, but I know stalls are normal and I understand the mechanism is a function of evolutionary biology. It certainly has had one positive effect: I work harder at the gym! Hang in there!!!!! -

How Many Experience This From Their Husbands..
kgb replied to SunshineMom2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I concur 100% with MeMeMEEE's message. My father treated my mother the same way while I was growing up and I can testify it had very negative effects on all the kids. Mom was Dad's scapegoat for everything...including HIS massive weight problem. They finally divorced when I was 16. Listen, life goes on though and we learn to forgive. Do what's right for you and your children. You'll never regret it. Living well is the best revenge! *hugs* -

I'm praying for you & sending positive thoughts to you, peacequeen! You need to pat yourself on the back for recognizing your danger signals and reporting them to your doctor immediately. The hospital is where you need to be to get the best care right now. I hope you heal fast and well. Stay Strong!!!

Ghrelin and sleep and heat regulation
kgb replied to Eureka-C's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Before my surgery, 6 Dec 2011, I got cold easily. I'm down 37 lbs and I haven't noticed a change in my temps. I'll definitely keep a look out for temp changes though. I don't want to be colder. On the other hand, I live in Alabama and the instant I walk out into that sunlight, I start to sweat profusely, but everyone sweats profusely in the Alabama sun. lol -

I Just Got Out Of The E.r.....
kgb replied to blackanese25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my first thought was dehyration causing your kidneys to hurt, but the ER would have seen it in your workups. Sounds like it's a gallbladder issue maybe. -
Mine went very well, too! Although I had severe nausea afterwards which kept me in the hospital two extra days. I survived the holidays without cheating -much- and as of today I'm on mushy foods. I'm so happy to have "real food" again! I almost forgot how it tastes! LOL So I'd say I'm feeling pretty good. I get tired more often than I anticipated, but I was tired all the time before WLS, too. I'm seeing my surgeon this Thursday and I hope he's happy with my weight loss, but I'm not sure what to expect.

Hi, Laura! I also had my surgery on Dec 6, 2011! How did your surgery go?
