    Lost My Tatas

    I've lost 80 lbs so far and am only 3 lbs away from one-derland and 6 from my lowest weight ever. I have lost all over. I have more to loose in my belly and thighs than other areas and I will most likely need excess skin removed from those two areas. my upper arm skin seems to be shrinking (Yay!) so that remains to be seen. I would say the tatas weren't noticeably smaller until around 65lbs down. I was able to make the old bras work until about 75lbs. At that point I could fit a fist in the cup with all the extra room.

    Now that you mention it, these are far easier to run with. I've become addicted to running so I guess that's a good thing!

    December Bandsters!

    Hey all. Just wondering how you all are doing with restriction and how many calories you eat daily. I eat between 1200 and 1500 calories depending on my exercise for the day. I could probably go for another fill but there are says when all I have all day is protein shakes because I get stuck on everything. Other days I can eat anything I want. I really canyon decide on another fill now or wait. I have lost 80 lbs so far.

    8 Months Post Op

    I am also 8 months post op. I am down 80 pounds. I have been regularly going to the gym since January. I also log everything I eat or drink on myfitnesspal. I use the app on my phone and you can even scan barcodes right from your phone. I run at least 5 days a week and do strength training 3 days a week. I think finding the right exercise and logging everything is a large part of this lifestyle change.
  10. I'm 8 months out and 80 pounds down. I have an Unjury protein shake every single morning for breakfast. I used to have a Greek yogurt for breakfast but I got stuck on it so I have a protein drink made with almond coconut milk and a little PB2. My nutritionist likes that I get protein in the morning and I also log everything on my fitness pal. I like the simplicity of a protein drink when I have to have 2 small children ready and out of the house by 6 am.

    Should I Stop Strength Traing

    Strength training is important and will help get you to goal. One pound of muscle burns 50 calories a day while one pound of fat only burns 3. Replace some of the fat with muscle and you will burn more calories!

    Lap Band Vs Realize Band

    My surgeon said he likes to have both next to him in the OR and make a decision based on what he sees. I told him to go ahead and choose for me since I don't know anything about my insides. I have the LapBand.
  13. Bahahahahahahaha!! Sorry, IF this is true front someone that this is their only post I am sorry for your loss... But, 'the stuff inside' the band is saline and saline cannot harm you!! oh my.
  14. I am 4 months out and down 50 lbs. I ran my first 5K last month when just 3 months ago I couldn't walk a mile. I have more energy and feel better than I have in years. At 31 I was taking blood pressure meds 2x a day. I am no longer on meds and am training for my next 5K. I am working on a 12 minute mile. I have NEVER run a 12 minute mile in my life!!! I would absolutely do it again only sooner!!

    Calorie Intake

    My nutritionist does not think anyone should be below 1200 a day because the body does react to so few calories. HoWEVeR - you all are so soon past surgery you are still healing. At that point I was probably taking in about 600 -700 calories. I am now 4 months out and take in between 1200 and 1400 a day but I also exercise daily and burn a minimum of 500 at the gym. I was told not to take in less than 1200 no matter what. I have lost 50 lbs since surgery.

    Have you started adding regular exercise? I only ask because I work out at least 5 days a week and that's the ONLY way I got here. I just know I wouldn't be seeing anything close to 50lbs if I weren't exercising as well.

    Hey peeps! I haven't been around much because I've been busy being active! WOOHOO! I have lost 50lbs since banding. I completed my first 5K in 40 minutes 39 seconds. I'm so loving life! How's everyone else 4 months later?

    I also can't figure out how to drink enough and I carry water with me everywhere. I'm at a two week weightloss standstill. I started at the gym this week so I hope it pays off. I'm sick of seeing no change.

    December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??

    Taking In between 1000 and 1200 calories and I have lost 24lbs sInce December 6th surgery. I had my first fill a week and a half ago and can't wait for my second. I had a family crisis two weeks ago that now has me in a depressiOn and eating bad bad things like chocolate. I'm starting back at the gym Monday to fight the depression and the bad eating. I'm having real difficulty coping with family events (brother in accident and has severe brain injury). I'm hoping some exercise endorphins will help.
  21. Checking in very late. My brother was in a major motorcycle accident and I have not been thinking about anything. I'm down to 258.6 I am starting back At the gym on Saturday !
