I'm one of those that rave about unjury. I love unjury. I tried many other brands but couldn't force myself to drink any of the other ones daily. I drink vanilla unjury with almond-coconut milk and some pb2. However, tastes are different. My friend tried the unjury since I love it but she didn't like it. She prefers EAS. I agree that you should shop around until you find what you like best. If you like it you will drink it and that is what matters.

My husband and I got it and he likes it more than I do. I like some of it but I'm a runner so I need more cardio. I am actually thinking about becoming a beach body coach. I love the idea of spreading fitness! I'm going to get Insanity next because it is supposed to be great cardio.

I'm no expert but I started out doing 30 minutes 3 days a week. I used a treadmill and walked slow. I then started increasing my pace each time but still only 30 minutes. As I lost weight and became more fit I began strength training 3 days and cardio 5 days. I always increase the difficulty. I am a runner so I vary my workout by having long slow run days (an hour) and sprint interval days (to increase my pace) and fun run days. I always do a minimum of 30 minutes 5 days per week. You have to continually increase intensity but you do not want to jump out the gate going too hard. Take it slow and go at your own pace.

3-5 Foods You Can't Niw Live Without:

I use my PB2 in my Protein shakes. Apparently, you can use it just like Peanut Butter after you add Water to moisten it. -
I don't follow the program at all. I'm vegetarian though and can tell you that beans/lentils are good sources of protein. I love my black beans.

I know for me if I go below 1200 I don't have enough energy for my life. I work with 5/6 year olds, have. 2 and almost 4 year old and exercise 5-6 days a week. I don't trust the machines for calories burned and use a heart rate monitor to be sure. I love to run. without sufficient calories I don't have the energy to keep going. I have been extremely dizzy when trying to strength train on a day where I couldn't eat. I have lost 80lbs in 8 months. I will not go below 1200 by choice (have some days where my band doesn't want food, they are rare) and I just may try Bambam's advice. Whatever happens, I'm listening to my body now and dizzy, weak, and tired are not what I want out of this banded life.

#1 PB2 #2 Almond Coconut Milk #3 Plain Greek yogurt (instead of sour cream) #4 Salsa #5 Boca Spicy 'Chickn' patties It isn't food but my unjury Protein powder and I love Atkins caramel nougut bars because they are high in protein and actually have a good amount of Fiber (like 10 grams). -
Have a head issue. In my head I see only the negative. On mirrors I see my flaws. However, when I see pictures from last year held up next to pictures of now it is almost like seeing different people. I hope that my head catches up with my loss and that mirrors stop reflecting only flaws. In the mean time, it is nice to look through pictures to see how far I've come.

I couldn't speak. For real, I could open my eyes for a few moments but I just couldn't speak. I had a real hard time waking up. I do remember yelling for someone to help me cuz they stuck me in a hallway waiting for someone to move me from xray to recovery. I was alone forever and I had to pee.

I've never heard of that brand either. I have a protein drink every single morning as my breakfast. I use a more expensive brand because I hated all the others I tried. I love my protein drinks. I use unjury mixed with almond milk and Pb2. Depending on which flavor unjury I use it ends up being around 205 calories for my morning meal.

Why does breakfast need to be dry and solid? I know many of us have trouble getting much down for breakfast. I used to do Greek yogurt (high protein!) but can't eat at all in the morning because my band is tight when I get up. Now I have a protein drink every single morning. I have a protein bar for a did morning snack. My fitness pal is a lot easier than you would think. if you take the time to plug everything in you will know for sure where your calories are coming from and where to make changes. If you get the app on your phone you can scan the barcode of any food item and just hit add. Once you start using it you will see that all you favorite/most used foods are there for you. I used to think food journaling took up way too much time. honestly, it is worth the very few minutes it takes. My husband and I both use it now and it really only takes a few extra moments after each meal. I actually log before I eat. I don't have any great breakfast advice other than what I mentioned above. Really make an effort to plan your foods ahead of time so you don't reach for worse options. Good luck.

What's Your Take On Artificial Sweeteners?
MellioM replied to meyouus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My nutritionist says natural is better so go stevia over artificial. She also says she finds small amounts of regular sugar more satisfying. -

8 months post op - 80lbs down -
I'm one of those that tells everyone. I am happy with my decision and I really could not care less what naysayers may think. I have had only positive reactions and I always make sure I make it clear that daily exercise and good nutrition have been vital factors. Two of my coworkers even went on to have the surgery themselves! We work in a school so we haven't seen each other in about 2 months. I'm eager to see and talk to them. I know I will be talked about when school starts up but it is all good. They see me outside running the track and they know I work for it.

I have no friends on MFP but need some accountability. I'm MellioM there too.

I asked every week about abdominal exercise until 3 months post op and I finally got the green light. I use 2 MedX machines at my gym for abs. I also love yoga for abs. My husband got P90X and I have trouble keeping up with their ab video but I modify. I'm going to get Insanity and see how that works out.

Do you track your intake? I use my fitness pal app on my phone to log every single thing I put in my mouth. I know for sure calories in. I also exercise regularly and bought a heart rate monitor so I can know for sure calories out. The machines are waaay off for me (elliptical says I burned 300 when I know I've only burned 220).

How Do You Get In 1000 Calories
MellioM replied to Threetimesacharm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I stay at a minimum of 1200 calories on most days. Keep in mind I exercise 6 days a week (we are talking intense exercise) so I will have problems maintaining enough energy if I go too low. I track my calories to be sure I eat enough. If I'm too low I will do one of three things; protien drink, protien bar, or juiced fresh veggies/fruit. I do have 3 meals and 2 snacks. A snack can be something as simple as a cheese stick or a little Greek yogurt. I find I end up starving if I skip my snack time. Starving is bad for me because then I eat too fast and can get stuck. I try to avoid feeling that hungry. -
Hi!!! I've been a vegetarian (ovo-lacto) for 17 years! The band has been pretty good to me. I no longer eat Pasta or rice but I eat everything else I ate pre-banding. I start each day with a Protein drink (unjury mixed with almond coconut milk and sometimes a little PB2). I have plain Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries and a couple of chocolate chips for a snack. lunch is usually vegetarian chicken salad or a boca spicy chicken patty with some salsa. Afternoon snack is some fresh fruit and a cheese stick. dinner varies but tonight I will have black Beans with 1 ounce cheddar cheese, salsa, and a couple tablespoons of Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. During the summer I have made my famous ratatouille and a few varieties of cabbage Soup. (I actually have to make another one tomorrow!). I have a farm share so I always use fresh fruits and veggies. Oh and when I need extra calories I will juice some fresh veggies with a couple of apples.

They are gone. :-( I went from a 40C to barely a B. While I am super super happy with my weightloss progress I'm just so upset with the disappearance of my breasts. I never would have thought so but I am now saving money for plastic surgeries including some breast work. I miss having breasts. That being said, it is still worth it.

Congratulations! That is amazing how much you lost so quickly. I'm ok with losing slower and not depriving myself. I hope to lose the last 52lbs to reach my goal by my bandiversary. Congrats again!
