I'm unclear on what I should be drinking for my pre-op liquid diet. I started the master cleanse yesterday but after doing a bit of research it seems I should be doing high protein low carb. Were you told specificially what you should consume? I'm scheduled for surgery on 1/18.

I go in next Wednesday. I had not thought of this at all. I don't think I have anything that is suitable. I'll be overnighting in the hospital. I see my doctor on Monday so I'll ask then. Thanks for asking this question. -
Liver Shrink Diet
islandbutterfly replied to islandbutterfly's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Master Cleanse is the cleanse that uses Fresh Lemon juice, grade B maple syrup and cayenne pepper. I lost 18lbs in 15 days when I did it last April. From what I read online it's suppose to flush the liver but I'm not sure if it will shrink it also so I switched to high Protein low carb instead which was the common suggestion on several weight loss surgery forums and websites I found. -

Hi I was scheduled to be banded on 12/14/11 but I switched to plication which will take place some time in mid January. My patient advocate has told me that the plication patients in the local support group have all had wonderful success and many of the lap band patients wish they had the plication. All my research has led me to conclude that without healthy food choices and exercise, WLS won't be successful. I've seen some posts where people mention they need to work on eating better. I'd like to know for those who are not so pleased with the results, is that after changing your diet to a healthy one and getting in regular exercise? If so it will give me something to think about. If the limited weight loss is being impacted by poor eating and inconsistent excercise I know that something that I have to work to control. I really like the plication option because I wouldn't have to deal with fills and unfills. So I guess what I'd like to know is how many have done everything they're supposed to but the plication is not living up to expectation?
