Tuna Or Red Meat Problems
ShoeLover replied to GabbyEstrada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at about 5 weeks, I can eat tuna, but only as tuna salad with a lot of mayo. I haven't even attempted any red meat yet, I haven't gotten to that phase in my diet plan. -
Anyone 5'6 And 300 Lbs When They Started?
ShoeLover replied to AutumnPunkin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 5' 6" and I was 291 when I started. I am about 5 weeks out now, I weighed in yesterday at 258. -
Hello, I keep my tracker on my signature current, so the numbers there are accurate to date. Dr. Garcia is great, all of his patients love him. My surgery went extremely well, I hardly felt like I'd had anything done. When I woke up from the anesthesia, I kept asking if they really operated on me. I felt it later, but it was nothing like I thought it would be.

Hello All, I didn't see this thread before today, I'm glad I found it. For some reason, I haven't been able to join the AA Sleevers forum, it won't let me post any comments there. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I haven't figured out what it is yet.

What Will Be Your First Clothes Will You Buy When Yoiu Get The Target Weight And Size?
ShoeLover replied to sallynew's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love pretty colored maxi dresses, which I wear now, but I think they will look so much better on me when I reach my goal weight. And I will love to wear jeans with a belt and a t-shirt without a pooch sticking out. -
Prayers For Sleeve 4 Me

Sending prayers and positive, loving thoughts her way. -
I had Jimmy Johns last year, and I swore I would never eat it again after the stomach problems that I had. I had no idea that it was just the onions. I MIGHT try it again without the onions and see what happens.

Oh wow, congratulations on your pre-surgery loss and on your surgery. Fatigue after the surgery is common - I was going full speed right after my surgery and then a few days later I hit a brick wall, and even putting on my socks and shoes made me want to take a nap. Just make sure you get in your liquids.

Has Anyone Gone To Mexico To Be Sleeved?
ShoeLover replied to sarah nelson's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi Andkel!!! I went to Hospital Mi alone, and I brought my laptop. I didn't lock my belongings up, and there was no problem. I spent a lot of time out of my room visiting with other people, and I was never once worried about my belongings. -
New Feb Sleevers Any Regrets? Best And Worst Thing So Far
ShoeLover replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know what you mean, Sabrina, about wanting to chew. Last night I got the Zuppa Toscana soup from Olive Garden and blended it, but they gave me 2 breadsticks with it - omg the smell was amazing. I got weak and I did have 2 bites of the bread, but I chewed it up until it was pulverized before I swallowed. I can't wait to at least go on soft foods so I can chew. -

I Have To Brag About My Dr. Garcia
ShoeLover replied to momofthree's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You should pull up articles about the crime in your area or in the US as a whole. Of course, the news is going to feature all of the negative things, if all they put on the news was positive things, no one would watch. I just went to Tijuana last week and I saw no crime, it was beautiful there. -

I believe OP's story. I think some of the details may be a little fuzzy to her, but I wholeheartedly believe that the government, medical staff, and lawyers can be a shady bunch. Just looking at what happened during hurricane Katrina taught me that the powers that be DONT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE. All they care about is money. -
Dr. Garcia And Team Are Awesome!
ShoeLover replied to BarbieB's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I just got back home yesterday from my trip for surgery with Dr. Garcia. They are definitely top-notch. When I woke up the next day after surgery, I told them that it didn't feel like I'd had surgery at all, and the internist and Dr. Garcia both said that I didn't look like someone who had just had surgery. LOL. I was running up and down the hallway with my IV and visiting with other people in their rooms. -
I just arrived in Tijuana and checked into the Marriott. I will be going to the hospital tomorrow to have my surgery! It seemed like forever for this day to come, and now it's finally here. The weather is really nice here, not bad at all so far. It's a wonderful, beautiful day and I am excited to be starting a new phase of my life tomorrow.

Has Anyone Gone To Mexico To Be Sleeved?
ShoeLover replied to sarah nelson's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am here alone and it doesn't bother me a bit. I've always been the adventurous type though. I did make fast friends with another lady who had her surgery the same day, she brought her daughter to take care of her, but we also have been looking out for each other. I am having a very good and positive experience. -

Has Anyone Gone To Mexico To Be Sleeved?
ShoeLover replied to sarah nelson's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am in Mexico right now, I just had surgery yesterday with dr Garcia. Everyone has treated me extremely well since I stepped out of the airport. I am feeling really good right now, I don't regret my decision at all, just wish I had done it sooner. -
My surgery went off without a hitch yesterday. I actually went in late, so my nerves were a little bad from waiting so long. When I walked into the OR, Dr. Garcia was playing "Work Out" by J Cole, which is my absolute JAM right now, so I knew then that everything would be ok. When I woke up from the anesthesia, I thought for a moment that nothing was done, because I didn't feel anything at all. But then I saw the incisions. So far, so great for my recovery. The staff is wonderful, I just wish that I could have something to drink now, they told me I have to wait for another six hours. Thanks guys so much for your kind thoughts and well wishes, I'm so glad I found this community of caring people.
