3 Weeks Into Lap Band Journey, Nsv

I was too embarrased to list my only other NSV, but here goes: For the 1st time in a while - my boobs stick out further than my belly LOL

Sort Of A Nsv Conquering My "nemesis"

That is wonderful - making those changes PRE-band is a good indicator of how you'll do after! I have not tried any fast food yet, but will keep the Fiesta items in mind if I'm ever in need of some quick meal ideas! I say GOOD FOR YOU on your 1st NSV!!
  3. That is so amazing!! You lost an entire PERSON! I imagine it is much easier to get around now. Good for you! You are an inspiration to those of us just beginning our journey! Keep it up and keep us posted!
  4. I have the same thing. I try to wait until I actually feel hungry but my stomach really talks loudly since my banding lol
  5. I started pre-op diet last week of November and was banded on 12/7. Since that week in November until now I have lost 18 lbs. I read so many of these blogs and some people are just SHEDDING pounds while others lose much slower. I just wonder: is my 18 lbs OK? Normal? Not enough, too much??? I wanted to either do the happy dance or get my act together LOL please help!
  6. Hey! I'm from the Dallas area, too and have been banded just over a week. I am 18 lbs down from pre-op diet until now! Feeling great. Had very little pain and am just starting to eat the mushies. You really just feel way too full, kind of like after Thanksgiving dinner, when you think you're just gonna pop! lol I have not had ANY of the scary pain, regurgitation, throwing up, sliming, PBs, or any of that. Its been great! I was banded by Dr. Marsden/True Results through the Richardson office, but the hospital was Baylor Trophy Club. It went sooo smoothly! Good luck and keep us posted on how you're doing!!

    Settle Our Food Argument!

My husband & I are in a disagreement over the following (Hey, after 18 years we've run out of REAL things to argue about!) Does a Dr. Pepper ICEE have carbonation??? We know they have 65 calories, 15 caffeine etc etc but I say its carbonated somehow and he says its impossible since its frozen. Someone please settle this so we can argue over something new - like the blue color of the sky

Any "bucket List" Items Added Once You Get Your Weight Down

Its silly but the main thing I'm looking forward to is being able to buy clothes & bras in the "normal people" store =)
  9. 30 lbs in 4 months is great! I was told to expect 1-2 lbs per week. So you are at 16 weeks and 30 lbs - that's great! I think the lap-band makes for life-long gradual weight-loss & maintainence NOT the drastic quick loss that comes from the other, more drastic surgeries. I think you are doing great, keep up the good work!!

    New To Lap Band

Do you have a True Results office near you? They did ALL the work for me and it was such a painless process. They have people in their office that THIS IS ALL THEY DO ALL DAY, EVERY DAY is argue with insurance companies and get their approval. I believe their website is www.trueresults.com Good Luck! It worked for me!

    Looking To Get Lapband Surgery....again!!!

OH wow, bless your heart, you've been through a horrible ordeal. I commend you for your bravery in attempting it all again - I hope the decisions made by yourself & the Doctors will be the right ones and regardless of the decision that you are healthy & happy! Keep us posted on how it works out and what they say at the consult!

All I Want For Christmas Is....

That is so wonderful! Good for you! You are an inspiration to the rest of us just starting our journey!
  20. Those fudgsicles will save you for sure. Make sure to get the sugar-free ones - its only 40 calories and they taste great! Its different - you actually get the feeling of "chewing" even though it just disintigrates in your mouth. Good Luck - I was banded 12/7 - you can do it!!
  21. Are we allowed to chew sugar-free gum or have sugar-free breath mints? I must admit that chewing gum and having the 0 calorie, sugar-free wintergreen mints really helps cure me of the "hungry" feelings. Just not sure that since I am now banded if I can still have them! Advice please!!!!

    Less Than 2 Days....

I didn't take anything except my iPhone - I could facebook, text & email from that so it was fine. There were people in out out pretty frequently so not a lot of time to do much. Good luck to you and hope to see you on the posts again soon! I was just banded last week so it looks like we'll both be December Bandsters

My Name Is Mike And I Am A December Bandster!

Congrats! I was just banded last week so am also a December bandster! We can all go through it together. I have already had some of the bandsters here talk me down from the food ledge on day 3 - it was tough! It gets easier as you can add back in the "mushy" foods or "mushies" as they call them here. So far I am experiencing a lot of restriction so that makes me feel good. I have lost right at 17 lbs since the pre-op diet and surgery. I had NONE of the scary pain, soreness, etc. Very little pain at all - I took 2 pain pills the 1st day post-op, 1 the 2nd day and none since. I'm looking forward to being on this site to get great advice, give my own and support each other through this journey. My family and friends are extrememly supportive and want to help but I also need help from those that have actually gone through it. I'm the 1st in my circle to get banded Hope to "see" you on here often and let's lose this weight!
  24. I was banded 3 1/2 days ago - OK so I know I'm not REALLY ACTUALLY hungry, but I feel like I am. I am SO freakin' tired of broth, Soup, popsicles, Protein shakes and Water that I could just croak! I actually took a bite of my daughters dinner, chewed it up and then spit it out just so I could taste something that wasn't blahhhhh. At least I spit it out, right? I know this is all "mental" and I'm not really starving to death, but it sure is hard to take. I am obsessively looking forward to pudding next week - how sad is that? I've done quite well on the pre-op & post-op diets (down 17 lbs) and I know I can do this - I quit smoking after 15 years w/ no problem - I just have to get over this "hump". I feel the need to discuss it with others like you who have been in this position. My family is supportive and wants to help but have no idea what I'm going through. Any suggestions? Hints? Tips? Talk me down off the food ledge!! lol

Lap Band Surgery Day 3, Talk Me Down!

Thank you all so much for your kind words & advice! My hubs made me up a "Protein Shake Suprise" last night to mix it up a bit. A few more days and I'm having me some scrambled eggs & pudding LOL I guess we all have times where it is just hard, thanks for being my support team while I was on the edge of crazy-town!
