Congrats on getting banded!
-
I'm 5'10", aged 36. My starting weight was 265. My highest weight was 270. I currently weigh 250-252. I was just banded on 06/04/2012. I'm enjoying my journey so far. I won't get my first fill until 7/20/2012. My meals for today was: Cottage Cheese and protein drink for breakfast Small salad with a very light amount of dressing and a spoonful of tuna. For Snack I had a few almonds and a little low sodium turkey jerky (had to really chew it up). I consume about 1200 calories a day and burn about 3000-3600 calories a day... I walk about 4-6 miles a day (at this stage). As I get further along I'm going to add other types of exercises and increase my burn and adjust what I eat. It's very obtainable for me.

For most...lapband is an outpatient procedure. My starting weight is 265. I would be satisfied if I just lost 70 lbs....(very obtainable with the band). I know that within a couple to few years most bariatric units will also do the plication with the lapband...would be interesting to see more long term results with it to see if it has a higher success rate than with just lapband.... this incisionless procedure just sounds like a temporary fad to me.

YOU ALL ARE LUCKY! I have to wait 5 weeks for my first fill

I'm lucky is that I rarely got weight comments growing up. Part of it is being a guy and 100 lbs overweight...for whatever reason is more acceptable to society. I can't wait until I get down to my highschool weight. It's going to be great. -
I'm sure you have Carolinagirl!

I went to a seminar and someone who got lapband a few years ago and was now at a healthy weight was asked by someone at the seminar this very question...and after they gave their answer ... the person who asked the question (who was fairly obese) said (seriously said this) ... that they can't wait to trust a fart. the guy who answered her question said "excuse me?" and she said even louder "to trust a fart, because I haven't been able to trust a fart in years because of all of this (waving her hands up and down her own body)". I had to walk out of the room.

Itching From Steri Strips?
difa replied to Mandajo111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes here...I'm just a little over a week post-op but they do itch! -
I must agree here. For Breakfast I have some greek yogurt, for lunch I have a little tuna with cottage cheese and for dinner it just depends...I'm consuming 800-1200 calories. so far so good.

um. Get throug the pain? There will be ups and downs to weight loss. It's not a miracle cure. You have to be your own Miracle Cure. I'd quote a favorite line from the movie "The Rock" that Sean Connery says to Nic Cage, but I don't want to offend anyone.

So true!

So I'm a week post op. I'm down from 267 to 251.5lbs and I hope to have my staples removed today. I have an appointment in an hour. Wish me luck!
-
So I got my staples out...set my first fill for July 20th at 10am and my official weightloss at the doctor's office was 11lbs (they had me at 254) but I had my shoes off and clothes on...so..its fairly spot on.

I've been using the fitbit for over a week and I love it..it even records my sleep patterns. I'm glad I bought the FITBIT. Their customer service is great as well. I've gotten a response within 12 hours of sending a message and they've gone through the steps to fix my problems I might be having. I also have the fitbit android app as well. I can walk into my bedroom where the fitbit charger is and the charger will instantly download the log of information without me even plugging the fitbit into the charger. Its great!
