so this person joined in 2008 and has only posted once? something doesn't seem right. I'd like to hear more of this person's logic.
-
i agree with Cazzy. There are definitely other surgeons out there!
-
My cop friend of mine always took his now wife to all kinds of places to have "fun". Of course now he doesn't, but as you get promoted, you're more in the limelight, than when you were a rookie.
-
so I'm trying to determine where my port is...I want to say its not to far below where the port incision is. Am I correct?

*blink blink* me calling it a blunt thread isn't a negative comment. It was an observation. I'm far from a prude.
-
this is quite the blunt thread!
-
personally what my doctor tells me to do, I'm going to do.....if it doesn't work, then in a month when I go back..then it'll change.
-
whats funny is that they'll benefit from you getting the surgery...because your health will improve and you'll use the insurance less and could end up making their insurance cheaper.
-
I know this is lifechanging. communication I've noticed does sometimes like in the relationship after a life changing event. Obviously you are still getting the surgery, whether he supports you or not. You have to reassure him that you do care for him but that you are doing this for yourself, your kids and yes even him. You have to tell him you are taking this seriously and that it's important that he supports you, but that if he doesn't that he has to in the very least not try to sabotage your weightloss because you will have to diet and this tool will help keep the weight off, and that having this done won't change going out, etc...that it affects the amount you eat and thats it. Thats what I'd do.

depends on your insurance. Mine paid for all but 15%. So I'll pay $2,000 when its all said and done.

6 Yrs....160 Lbs Less Of Me!
difa replied to SteveFrett's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Steve, I'm sure you understand that you give hope to those who are in bandster hell. You've accomplished a great feat. I've never ever believed my surgeon who told me I should be happy just losing 50 of 100 pounds I need to lose. I told him that I'd have to prove him wrong, because his belief is simply negative thinking. -
Sad enough ... while i don't have an emotional attachment to food (mine was mostly being a bachelor and eating OUT ALLLLL THE TIME). I've noticed a sadness since getting the band and eating differently. That and the communication between my wife and I has gotten worse. She hasn't lost the weight she's expected by month 9. I've lost 20 lbs or so in the month post-op. I see how weight loss and expected weightloss can cause a strain on someone.

My Hubby Is Upset That I Scheduled My First Consultation, Help ;0/
difa replied to christinanewhart's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
*eyebrow raise* I suppose if both me and my spouse were selfpays, but even then I'd be a jerk if my wife who had all kinds of medical conditions wanted the band and her doctor supports her, and then me her husband didn't. My wife's health and safety comes first over me being a man and the anatomy I have. I have heard of stories where the band has led to divorce ... if that is the result of getting the band and getting healthy, then the relationship was stable to begin with and being obese was something the one spouse was hanging onto (whether one or both were overweight). -
