Hey, I'll tell you what. You can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it?
-
Eh <--- thats all I want to say. Whenever someone gets on a soapbox (for whatever reason) I always remember a line from Tommy Boy: "Hey, I'll tell you what. You can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it?" I'm not a psychologist but there are certain topics that typically don't add insight into anyone's life. The message in this thread about God is typically the same one most of us have heard, its not really a new insite, I've rarely heard anyone (anyone speaking honestly) actually say "So I'm a sinner and I don't give two squats about God but ONE DAY I was walking to the mall or ONE DAY I was on a message board or ONE DAY I was washing my car at the car wash and someone came up to me and said "Have you been saved? Did you know Jesus Christ died for YOUR sins? Did you know you can live an immortal life if you just believe in God and Trust In Him ... etc and by Golly I'm shooting rainbows out my butt now and I'm ready for the ride of my life!!!!" Still love ya for the post, but like I said before "Hey, I'll tell you what. You can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it?"

ok this thread made me laugh. What gets my goat (love that phrase) is the use of to, two, too and they there, their they're.

that's why its posted in here. I honestly didnt know there was an off-topic board on here, but now I know! (and I'll probably ignore it from now on).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA OH Elcee I nearly had to change my pants. Thanks for the laugh!

Just remember that the band isnt a permanent deal...the fill can be removed and you wouldnt feel any restriction...so you could go back to the way of eating that got you into a position where you wanted to get the band. I've known people who overlost weight and got too skinny so their doctor removed the fill until they gained 10-20 lbs...I'm proud of everyone who takes this step (to get the band!).

I love reading all these posts. I probably won't have my surgery until the start of June. I have my education class this next Wednesday and then the approval should be quick, but I also have to get the leave from work. I'm going to work some comp time this saturday so I can add a day to my leave. I plan on getting the surgery on a Wednesday so I can take off Wednesday, thursday, and Friday.

I plan on carrying a fart machine with me and if my dietician tells me that...I'll let one rip and then I'll say "WHEWWWWW OK WOW I NEEDED THAT, can I re-weigh now? I really think it was just gas weight"

2Nd Sleep Study Needed (Anyone Else Have This)?
difa replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had a sleep study done last december (2011) and of course i have severe sleep apnea, but if you lose a lot of weight with the band then you could very well have taken care of the sleep apnea, so I dont understand that if the insurance has approved it then why force you to buy a machine...my machine with insurance was $1500 -
I'm 36, didn't get married until i was 32. I had a couple bad relationships in college, and i didn't date in High School. My wife got lapbanded last fall and I'm getting the lapband in June. I need to lose around 90-100lbs....I'm lucky that we (my wife and I) have a great looking kid...but I understand the "will i ever get married/in relationship" question. I must also say that I've had "man-boobs" since high school and in high school i weighed 160-170....and was just 10 lbs overweight...

Good Job Paul! You are succeeding well! -
So Sad...sorry to hear that. Being so new here, I've had interaction on when she posted recently to say she regretted getting the band because she was now having serious complications with it.

congrats on the amazing weight loss!

Consultation Is Coming Soon...now What......
difa replied to msjessica2u's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
On the otherhand. I went to my PCP for 6 months (one visit a month) and she checked my blood pressure, took my weight, asked how my diet was going. Other than that, the bariatric doctor has me see him once, get one psych eval, and next week I got to an education class and see the psych doc one more time and then I'm done until i get the surgery. I didn't have to get a GI, or a heart test, or anything else. YOU WILL DO JUST FINE!!! I BELIEVE IN YA! -
One thing you'll see is that the band has gone through changes since it was initially used. The band today is safer than the one yesterday...less slippage and failures. I hope to get my band in June.

I'm 36, 5'10" and my bmi is 38. I weigh 265lbs ... so while I'm obese, my bmi is low enough that my insurance said I had to have a co-morbidity, so I got a sleep test and found out I have severe sleep apnea. I'm in the same boat as you. Good luck to you on your journey!

Are You Going To Tell Anyone About Your Surgery???
difa replied to Lola Granola's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only my wife will know when I get the band. Mostly because I don't want to have a conversation about why with my parents or family. I'm not permanently physically altering my body any so there's no need to tell everyone. Technically my boss knows I'm doing something at a bariatric office since I've taken a few days off over the past few months, but he doesn't specifically know.
