(Introduction) First Step Tomorrow...
difa replied to Huntingnurse's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good Luck Clay. I don't have the same insurance as you but I was just recently approved and hope to be banded here in June. I had to visit my Primary care doctor once a month for six months for weight visits and to go over my diet and then I visited a surgeon and took a psych test and went to a nutrition class. I also have severe sleep apnea. I'm 36, and weight 265. I'm hoping to lose 100-110 pounds. Good luck on your journey! Keep us up to date! -
Sounds like my journey will be like yours. I'm wearing 40" waisted pants. I weight 265 and i hope to get down to around 155-165. I can't wait until I'm a waist 32. Thanks for being an inspiration!

I don't have my date yet, but it will be in June....congrats to all!
-
Good luck to you and Mimi. I'm set to be banded at some point in June. Should have something set soon.
-
Appreciate it. Found out I was approved today. They just need to fax the letter to the surgeon and I need to set the date.
-
Awesome! I hope to be banded in June
-
Great weight loss! So you lost 41lbs from 1/25/2012 through today? Was any of that loss during a preband diet?
-
My wife got banded last fall and has lost about 45 pounds since then. But to share one of her experiences. She took a plane to go out of town for work and on that plane a guy who sat next to her complained to the flight attendant because he didnt want to "sit next to a fat person". Sadder is that the guy was fairly overweight himself..so much he couldnt connect his belt because of his gut. He also complained that he had to sit next to someone who was overweight to complete strangers as well. I told her if I had been on the plane I would have decked him. The jerk!

Awesome! congrats!

Found Out Friday That I Got The Approval From The Insurance Co.

Good Luck to you! My six months ended in April. I'm going to a nutrition class tomorrow (and a psych doc appt) and then I should be approved and will be banded either at the end of May or start of June. -
My problem is that I definitely ate what I had grown and then some and I definitely occupied but never unoccupied. Which is why I'm getting the band! heh. I can tie the band to anything.

Are ER And Other Specialists Prepared To Handle Lapband Emergencies?
difa replied to NoMoBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Research. Find out if a hospital near you has a bariatric doctor...a bariatric doctor there might not install lapbands but is familiar with them and would know what to do in case of an emergency. Just call the area hospitals up and ask if they have a bariatric doctor on staff and if so is he familar and trained with the lapband. -
Surgury Soon And All Posts Are Seeming So Negative
difa replied to kbliss78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good Luck Katy! I'm getting my band in early June (most likely) and my wife was banded last fall and short of the productive burps and forgetting to focus on her chewing...she's doing great. -
i can't wait until I lose the weight i can so I can put some muscle on. I didn't get overweight until after college during my bachelor years (short of the 5lbs overweight in college).

Any Female Friends Now Treat You Differently?
difa replied to 1970MaleJaxFL's topic in The Guys’ Room
that is a fear of mine...to an extent. I fear that I will lose weight and my wife will start to get jealous and wonder if other females are hitting on me a lot and then she'll get more self-conscious about herself...etc -
*claps* congrats on the milestone. Just think in a year you'll come back and see this post and do that jump they did in the toyota commercials back in the 80's (its toyota isnt it?). Congrats!

Sounds like the PERFECT MOTHERS DAY GIFT! *JUST KIDDING*

I typed my last message from my cellphone. I meant no offense to you, I was just stating a fact of shock type radio. Now my opinion is that I believe the best woman to have is one that is publicly conservative and lets the freaky side show up at home in private.
-
Sorry if i offended you.
-
You took my post the wrong way. I'm not passing judgement, I worked in radio for over ten years and know how shock jock radio can be.

Z100 would do anything for ratings...as you can tell its got your listening. I've learned to get to know a person and when you know that person and they know you then you are in a comfortable position to take it to another level. If all you are looking for is to get your freakon there are definitely outlets for that, weboards, help wanted ads, dating sites (specifically for casual sex), etc.

dude how do you know its something you want to experience? as far as you know it involves donkey's or objects you don't even want to be around? heh...

and I'm definitely a newbie. Though I like the place.
