Hi Sydnii...i just started my process with Dr. Oliak too but only after doing a ton of research online and scheduling different consults and seminars with probably 6 different practices. I've been looking into this for about 8 months now and one of the main reasons why I chose Dr. Oliak is because how passionate he is on his outcomes and statistics. I'd be careful about looking into those practices that dont give you statistics on the doctors or who even the names of the surgeon. Doing my research, I found out that many are just middle men who contract out doctors and don't offer good follow up care. If any issues arise, I want to be sure i'll be taken care of in the future. By having a consult with Dr. Oliak I saw that he is very open about his complication rates and outcomes and focuses a lot on being a support system for his patients. He's had his own practice for many years now and I felt really comfortable with him when I had my free consult. I'm still in the process and haven't gotten the surgery yet, but my process has been so easy and smooth with him and his team. I'd really suggest looking into them. Good Luck!
  2. Thank you so much for responding to my thread. I'm happy to say that I've started the process with Dr. Oliak and everything has been so much easier than what I expected. His staff is incredibly helpful which has made my nerves settle a great deal. You hear all these crazy stories of awful practices that don't care about their patients or their success. All they care about is the surgery without really educating you on the lifestyle changes that come along with it. This the exact opposite of what I've experienced with Dr. Oliak and his team. The consult alone has opened my eyes to what I can realisticly expect from this. I'm so happy I chose this practice. I'm ready to start my new life.
  3. I just had a consult with Dr. Oliak and I think I'm ready to move forward. Not 100%, but maybe 90% sure I want to do this. The consult was easy and I think I was more nervous about it than I should have been. He was very thorough and I was impressed by his outcomes of successful patients. Are there any old patients of Dr. Oliak that can please respond back to me? Thank you.
  4. I had a consult with Dr. Oliak the other week and although there is a program fee involved, for me it makes sense. I've been going back and forth about having this surgery done for probably 2 years and I've seen a lot of people get the surgery done and not do well because of the lack of support. I'm still on the fence about moving forward, but if I'm going to do this, I want the best. The consult with him was for almost an hour and to be honest, I was surprised I got a private consult rather than attending a group seminar. Right there I felt like I would be in good hands if I chose him for my surgery. For me, money shouldn't be a major factor when it comes to changing my life. Not saying that it is for you, but for me I could see a major difference between practices that offered an extensive program and those that didn't.
