  1. I am taking 4 weeks off.. I am 2 weeks out today and am feeling pretty good but I want to make sure I am giving 100% to myself for the first month. So far so good ! I think 2 weeks would be fine. I finally started sleeping in bed at about 1 week without pain. You should be fine... Good Luck
  2. Sorry to be stupid here but what is PCOS ??
  3. at Meijer ..It is a store like Walmart or Kroger.. .. I'm not sure you have them in Florida. You can look at your local grocery. There were name brand also but they are more but still ok in price..
  4. Shellbelle - My husband totally figured out my Vitamins for me.. I have never taken them before and he is kinda freaky about taking them. Anyway here is what I have been taking... 3 calcium chews 500mg Plus D & K per day - Carmel flavor ( very good like eating a carmel candy ) Meijer Brand around 8.99 for 60 chews - 1 chew 3 times per day Vitamin B complex sublingual liguid with B12 1200 units - 1/2 dropper under the tongue once per day in the morning - 10.99 will last a while so not bad - bought it at walmart 1 Bariatric Advantage multi- vitamin ( berry flavor chewable) twice per day. One in the morning and 1 in the evening. 24.00 for 1 month supply I chose not to take the Iron because I had the thermal albation a few years ago and do not have a full blown period anymore.. which is terrific The only expensive one was the multi vitiman - I'm going to shop around on that one I have not taken any of the other ones you mentioned and it's not on my list from the Doctor Hope this helps!!
  5. Jasleeve - I was sleeved on Dec 15th. I chose to not tell anyone about my surgery. My husband, mother and 1 very dear friend are the only ones that know ( I come from a very big family!!) They have been a wonderful support team for me. And or course everyone on this wonderful site that are right there with all the support in the world. Even with all of that said, I too have felt "blue" over the past week or so. I really think it is the Holiday. We lost our teenage son in 2008 and Christmas is really hard on me. I'm telling you this only because I think that maybe there might be another reason for your "down" feeling. I can feel it coming on for me.. once it starts it is hard to stop it.. But if you stay positive it will turn around and you will see the brightness in the gloom! Trust me I have been there many times.. Also on the protein drinks.. I have been drinking Isopure 40 grams in 20 ounces bottles. they have a bunch of flavors and they are really good. I do NOT like milk so I will not drink the shakes or milky tasting ones. They even have a non-flavored power that I'm going to order to mix with ice tea etc.. I will let you know how that tastes after I get it.. Anyway Hang in there and keep looking for the Brightness and the Gloom will pass... Laura
  6. My surgery was 8 days ago and I feel pretty good now. The first 4 days were bad.. I'm not going to lie... Day 5 and 6 I noticed alot of improvement from the first 4 days.. My throat did not hurt at all. I did not have any nausea either. I just had my one week appt with my dr and he said I'm doing GREAT!! I've lost 8.5 pounds in 8 days!! My right side does hurt and I can not sleep very comfortably but that is getting better also.. I have not been thristy because I have eaten popsicles non stop.. Stock up on them, you will want and need them.. Plus they are pretty tasty Hang in there - you made a wonderful decision that is going to change your life for the better!!

  9. I agree 100% on the calcium chews !! I look forward to them 3 times a day.. They taste like a carmel candy
  10. My pain is bad but it was what I expected. They gave me lortab liquid at home and I had morphine IV for the 2 days in the hospital. I have taken the pain meds- My main pain is in my neck and left side where the biggger incision is. I have not able to sleep in my bed all night yet. It hurts to bad. All in All it was what I expected...
  11. Hi Weigh2go - I am 6 days out. I am just now feeling like I can take in more fluids. I have been drinking Isopure (grape) it kinda tastes like a watered down kool-aid drink, and plain water. I am on my 3 box of sugar free popsicles. If you have not tried them then you really should. They saved me!! I could not drink the first few days very much at all. 1 popsicle has approx 3 oz of fluid and it only takes mins to eat. They made me feel better too.. My Doctor said I can have unlimited amount of them. They did tell me NOT to drink Gatorade but I really can not remember why. Hang in there and hope you start getting more fluids real soon...
  12. Mommamea- Sorry to hear you are having problems. I just had my surgery on the 14th. I was able to come home on the 16th without the drain. Mine was stitched in with 1 stitch that had to be taken out before the drain came out. The tube attached to the drain is very long! It should not come out on it's own. Your Dr office should take it out for you when it's time. I felt so much better when it did come out. It was sore but I finally felt I could start recoverying once it was gone. Hang in there and hope you feel bettter soon..
  13. I'm glad someone else feels like I do. I am 2 days from surgery also. I'm scared and excited then scared and excited again.. Reading all the success stories on here FIRES me up! I bought a WII today so I can excersise everyday even when it's zero outside.. It was 16 outside this morning.. Brrrrr... Hang in there and I will be thinking of you.. 2012 IS OUR YEAR!!
