Can We Get Back To Support And Stop Attacking Each Other Please?
RosieSweetie replied to italianlady13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are right. We should be supporting each other. There are enough people (outside those of us who have gotten sleeved) that are willing to criticize us. -
Not Sure If This Is An Nsv Or What?
RosieSweetie replied to Lissa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry you have to go through all this, at a time when you need to focus on your health and well being. The other ladies that posted really have great advice for you. Remember, many times what seems like the worst thing in the world, ends up being a big blessing. May God bless you, and remember there is support out here for you. Good luck. -
How Is It Possible!?
RosieSweetie replied to Nikki Kaspshak Figueroa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got sleeved Tues 12/13- every day is getting better and better. Hang in there! -
I will pray for you.Remember God has a plan for you. Maybe these obstacles are really an invite for you to decide if you really want this surgery and a time to reflect if you are willing to do the follow-up. Use this time constructively- read the posts on this website so you really know what you are in for. Go on a pre-op diet. Start slowly-maybe just cutting out all sugar- then cutting out all the useless carbs. I am sure your husband is just afraid. Spend this time educating yourself and him about the risks of this surgery. ALso go to other doctors' seminars and if you can, their support groups. This surgery is a change in lifestyle- you don't just get the surgery and viola, your different. See if you can figure out why you eat, besides hunger. I just got sleeved Tues 12/13, and even though I have been uncomfortable, I am confident I made the right decision for me and I honestly don't care about the negative people's opinions are . My husband has become very supportive and he also understands his part in my weight gain, and how those actions can't continue. (lack of wanting to exercise with me, junk food in the house, etc.) Try not to be overwhelmed and take things one day at a time. Good luck to you.

I just got sleeved Tues 12/13. I am using Loratab and Zofram (nausea) , but I also am using Gas-X strips, and they are helping a lot. Good luck and hang in there. Just remember there are others out there like you- We can do this! Just think how great it will be to ANNOUNCE your weight and not be ashamed of it. Imagine looking forward to going clothes shopping or wearing heels again, or not worrying about needing a table not a booth! I can't wait until I actually weigh less than my 6 ft 2 husband (by the way I am 5ft 1).

Tomorrow Is The Day For My Gastric Sleeve Surgery! Last Minute Tips Or Advice?
RosieSweetie replied to MissE's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
good luck! Just had it done on Tues 12/13- I'm home, feeling good. (taking some loratab and prevacid, using gas x strips). Listen to Lisa821- right on target. Also I would suggest try not to eat at all, just liquids prior to surgery. Chapstick is also a MUST, When I went to GNC I bought vials of protein (40g of protein in 2.9 oz) I add it to fruit punch (crystal lite 0 cal, o carbs), so I could get hydration & protein (not the best tasting-but doable. Add more crystal lite, less protein vial if you hate the taste) The surgery will be over before you know it! -
WOW! you are so right. You said all the things that I somehow knew but couldn't piece together myself, so nicely. I printed out your post as a reminder for me. Thanks for sharing.

To Tell Or Not To Tell... My Story
RosieSweetie replied to Rainsong's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am also a teacher. When I had an endoscopy done at a local hospital, I told one of the nurses I was thinking of WLS. I really regretted it. Several nurses came over to give me their opinion- along with the horror stories of people who had WLS & regained all the weight and a story about someone who died! A few months later, another teacher announced he had the sleeve surgery done. For the past year, the other teachers (and students) discuss his weight. I have heard, more than once, people say he "took the EASY way out", and he should have just have been "disciplined". I plan on keeping it a secret because I don't intend on defending my choice and if, God forbid, I regain the weight, I don't want to hear, "told you so". So I think whether you tell or not, depends on your personality (and tolerance for stupid comments). -
Gastric Sleeve Approval Process & New Year Goal!
RosieSweetie replied to jasleeve's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
At the time I was very ticked off, because I wanted to get it over with. But it ended up being a blessing. I had more time to do my research and fully understand my decision and the lifestyle change involved. Also, the 2nd Dr has a much better bedside manner; he is a very caring person. His staff is much nicer and they return calls promptly, too. Like they say, things happen for a reason. -
Super Weak - Please Help!
RosieSweetie replied to Veda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I am not an expert and I have not had surgery yet. I went to my dietician and she said I should take sublingual vitamin B-12 after the surgery because it would help energy wise. I hope this suggestion might be useful, but I would definitely call the Dr. Good luck to you, and I hope you feel better soon! -

Gastric Sleeve Approval Process & New Year Goal!
RosieSweetie replied to jasleeve's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good Luck, I wish you the best on your journey. I have United Healthcare .One Dr I went to gave me a surgery date, but his staff would not submit the papers I gave them (incl a letter from my Primary care Dr)until I could "document" yearly weights over at least 5 years. I waited a few mos. and they still never submitted the paperwork, even after I called them twice (Crazy, right?). So instead of fooling with them anymore, I went to a different Dr, his office submitted the letter from my primary care Dr and the other docs I had and I got approved in 4 days! Some offices know how to work the insurance paperwork. The first office was very busy and asked it I would self-pay if not approved, so maybe there was something else going on there. If one Dr office can't get the approval, I would try another. -
Thank you so much for taking the time to post all of this Suzannesh. :blush5: I really appreciate it ! I am scheduled for December.
