I adore cardio kickboxing!

I believe that my surgeon likes to try to avoid crossover addictions, which is why alcohol is such a no/no under his program.

To Eat Or To Drink...that Is The Question
Bedhead replied to Mrs.Prisses's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In thinking you need to focus on giving your body fuel! Even in my first week postop I was getting in more than 300cals just because of my protein shakes. -
Alcohol is on my surgeons No Forever list.

I was admitted again last night- for pain and severe dehydration . I want to love my sleeve. I want to work this wonderful tool- but I've been through 2 weeks of hell on earth and I'm trying desperately not to regret making such a selfish choice.

I had zero medical issues before being sleeved. After being sleeved I've been hospitalized 3x and am on more medications than I ever have been before. If I knew then what I know now- no. I would not have done it.

2/6 Sleevers Check In

I'm Probably Overreacting, But...
Bedhead replied to AdvocateMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most likely what is happening is that the nerves in your stomach that were severed are beginning to be reconnected. So before you may not have felt full bc you had no ability to experience the sensation- now your sleeve is climbing into the drivers seat. -
There are almost no risks to pregnancy after VSG compared to pregnancy after bypass or band- its one of the very many reasons I decided on VSG- because I know I'm not done breeding yet. Just be sure to follow your surgeons guidelines and find an OB who has experience with WLS patients, wait the full 12-18 months and chances are high that you will have a perfect, normal, uncomplicated pregnancy.

I Definitely Regret Surgery.... So Far!
Bedhead replied to jasleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your new av picture really IS amazing! You are HAWT! -
He's been 100% involved in everything from the very beginning and been seeing me in the hospital regularly since I was admitted- and is in charge of my care. However, surgeons are not GI specialists nor do they specialize in endoscopy/ so he had a specialist brought in to review my case. The specialist found a TON of erosion despite me taking 20mg of Prilosec at home and protonix in the hospital. Now I'm on this god awful pink medicine (sucralfate or something like that) which adheres to the eroded places and essentially creates a barrier between my stomach and acid so that I can heal. We're trying this for a few days while I'm still here and hopefully it will get under control I'm guessing that the erosion was caused by the infection

Ok So My Surgeon Has Me Second Guessing My Choice...
Bedhead replied to dreamkin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have Type 1 or Type 2? You said almost all your life so I'm thinking Type 1- which no amount of surgery will cure -
Thank you all! I was supposed to get an endoscopy yesterday, and then again today- but now they are telling me tomorrow. Because of my new anatomy nobody will scope me for legal reasons. Tomorrow the hospital is bringing in a specialist from a few hours away who does complex cases of post-WLS routinely. The wait has been agonizing but I'm relieved they are bringing in the best of the best. I was so afraid of some novice jamming a tube down there and killing me:(

I want to echo this over and over again.

Do I Have To Rush To Do My Sleep Study?
Bedhead replied to pdog's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My PCP signed paperwork that I had no signs or symptoms of SA and that he was confident in recommending me for surgery without it! I didn't need the study because of that -
Heating Blankets Recommendations Please
Bedhead replied to longer-life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The most amazing 'heating blankets' I own are down comforters with the chamois duvet covers. The second you crawl under them it's like you've plugged something in! They are big, fluffy, divine feeling, and don't stink like electrical stuff. At night our heat goes down to 55f and my kids have never once gotten cold! They were so amazing that my hubs and I got one for us too. -
What Insurance Can I Take Out To Cover Sleeve?
Bedhead replied to Candace Dillard Stewart's topic in Insurance & Financing
What about instead of paying hundreds every month for a 3rd ins which may or may not cover bariatrics, or taking out a line of credit- you just put that money into a bank account and go self pay without getting yourself into a financial situation? -
Is Anyone Unhappy With Their Sleeve?
Bedhead replied to 1cindy2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, I am unhappy with my sleeve. I was sleeved on 2/6 and in the 15 days since surgery, I have spent 9 of them admitted to the hospital (and that is where I am currently). I read this forum left, right, and sideways so I knew all of the potential risks- but like most others I never dreamed the complications would happen to me. I have 3 small children at home and am a stay at home mom. I have not been able nor had the strength to pick up my kids in 15 days. I have been in constant pain despite following my surgeons eating plan. I can no longer tolerate anything other than Water. Even broth and Jello cause agonizing pain. I ask myself every day why I've done this. I hope once all of my complications are fixed I will learn to love my sleeve like so many others have. But right now I feel as though I've made the worst decision of my life. -
This , if nothing else, makes me want to go to Florida! Forget Disney! High pulp, delicious fresh OJ here I come!

How To Date With My New Sleeve
Bedhead replied to Tshaunda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of my favorite dates ever was car shopping. Neither of us had any plans of buying one, nor the $$$$$$$$ to buy the sort of cars we test drove- but I think that was part of the fun of it! There was no awkward silence of a movie or weirdness of who got the check after eating. We talked and laughed and had SUCH fun! -
Hey guys- horrible pain in my back and chest for 3 days. So bad I could only get in about 10oz of Fluid each day. By the time I got to the ER I was barely aware of anything anyone was saying. They pumped me full of fluids and electrolytes and sent me for chest X-rays and another upper GI. The radiologist believes that my sleeve has spun around on itself. I'm being taken in later today or tomorrow for an endoscopy and if it really is twisted I will probably need opened back up.

Omg Where Did This Pain Come From?
Bedhead replied to Pookeyism's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How long ago were you sleeved? Have you checked your heart rate and temp? -
I have always squeezed fresh lemon into my water and have been wondering if my sleeve would tolerate it now. Do you have a problem with plain water at all? I can't drink it at all and I hate all of the sweet drinks like mio and CL. Maybe lemons will be the answer to my prayers!

Omg before surgery Simply Orange was the only juice I would drink. Now I want a huge glass with extra pulp sooooooo much!
