Truthfully. If you like it, even though it's on the high end of Protein pricing it's still very cheap overall. Think about it this way, you are getting a meal for 1 dollar a clip. Find a nutritional meal with a total cost of a buck. McNuggets need not apply!

EAS Myoplex from BJ's for powder. 30 bucks for 5lbs, dissolves very easily in Water, and tastes a lot less like whey than most. I tried about 6 different vanillas before I just said screw it and bought it as a last ditch attempt. chocolate is good too. As said above, those are bases and feel free to mix other stuff to them. I don't like strawberry or other flavored powders as I'd just put some frozen strawberries in myself. For premade, muscle milk light is good since its at almost any convenience store now a days and doesn't taste that bad. As with most premades, it's thicker than powder. Personal opinion, steer clear of Cookies and cream!!! Awful!!!

I was given a sample of the vanilla from my dr's office when I told them I really wanted to find a vanilla powder. It's a very expensive powder at over 1 dollar a server, and I'll be honest. It was horrible. It tasted like whey mixed with some preservative trying to be vanilla. A pro of it is that it did dissolve in Water well, but the taste was horrible. If you want a decent vanilla, check out EAS Myoplex. They have it at BJ's for 30 bucks a 5lb bag which is over 70 servings, or about 40 cents per scoop. Dissolves just as well and tastes great with just water. Your taste may be different than mine, but try the samples before you order. I was not impressed, especially with such a expensive premium.

I think protein shakes are the best bang for the buck. Of course not all are created equal but that's a start. For food, I find that egg whites, beans, and fish are great protein values with low caloric intake. Again nothing fried of course. Protein bars you have to be VERY careful with. Some are over 400 calories (and I find most taste like paste).

Anybody Else's Dietician Make Them Feel Like Crap?
jMat replied to mrsmyers2010's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love my nutritionist. I must admit the first time I saw her she kind of made me feel like crap, but only by saying the truth. I think they go with some tough love up front. Heck, one burrito i ate the day before was 800+ calories (and I had two!)! I mean let's face it, we all could use it a little. When I went back and dropped some weight she was completely different. See how she reacts to following her directions. If she's still nasty, bail, but I don't think she will. -
First NSV, which actually involves my scale. I officially way something less than "ERR"! I'm a real number!

No Lap Band Fill After 2 Months & Still Losing?
jMat replied to Cynsayshun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry if this is a bit off topic or threadjacking, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Even without a fill, doesn't the band still create a new pouch and a restriction of sorts. Of course it can be made much tighter depending on fills, but even with 0cc you are still restricted correct? Example. I obviously could each a 12 inch sub and chew like normal and devour it, however even with 0cc this likely isn't possible. -
Hey all. I've been on a search for a good tasting vanilla powder and have come up pretty empty. So far I've tried Chike and unjury and found that they taste like crap. I was hoping for something close to a "vanilla ice cream" type of flavor and less chemical flavor. I've been stuck on only chocolate, which isn't terrible but if I were to pick an ideal flavor it would definitely be vanilla over chocolate in other circumstances. I haven't really gone to other flavors as I think they would taste even more artificial. If I want variation I typically blend my own berries or banana in, but getting a vanilla base would be awesome. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Calorie Counting/tracking Website Advice

Friend me as well if you want. RevoMe. -
The only carb problem after you kill rice, is the Beans. Eliminate them and you are set. The thing that rocks about the salad is the dressing they give you. Actually it's more like a loose salsa, but its not like their packet sauce at all. Was delicious! Thanks for the kind words all.

Everyone has a food vice, some chocolate or pizza. Mine is Taco Bell. I closet ate the stuff like it was going out of business. I travel a lot and made sure to stop there whenever possible. During my pre op self choice of a diet, I was coming home tonight and I decided I had a craving. I've been pretty good and lost about 15 lbs in two+ weeks thus far. When I got in there I had a huge feeling of guilt. I decided to do something I've never done... Order a salad (Fiesta chicken salad to be specific). I didn't know what was on it so I just said no shell. Amazingly it was the best thing I ever ate there! (I typically have much better taste in food, but I don't know why but I love it there). I couldn't even finish it! I ate about 3/4 of it and decided to see how crappy it was on myfitnesspal.com, and the whole thing was only 400 calories (cheese and sour cream included, which I'll ditch next time)! My old taco bell outings when I calculated them were about 2000 calories, now I left feeling awesome with a better tasting product for about 300. I know it may sound stupid, but it was a big light for me. When I get banded next month, it can easily be converted to band friendly by ditching the little bit of rice they add. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. But I was quite happy.

Pain Relief Medication After Lap Band Surgery ?
jMat replied to Annfargo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine said the same thing to me. I looked it up and the reason is that Ibuprofen is harsher on the stomach that Acitomitifin (spelling, but I mean Tylenol type of products). Since the pouch is small it can apparently lead to ulcers and other issues. -

Hey guys. I'm hopefully a Jan bandster and have started a pre op food reduction (not dr ordered, but mainly as practice with guidance of nutritionist). I'm wondering how many calories you shoot for in a day? I've been trying to keep it under 1200 and have lost a lot quick (13 lbs in about 2 week with some off days). What are your daily goals banded or pre op?

Feel free to friend me. My username is revome. I had been using LoseIt but switched today after seeing how many bandsters are on.
