Ms skinniness replied to mrs sandy r's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd be really concerned about the bars hitting your abdominal area and damaging your incision sites. Just a thought. I was very protective of my abdominal area. -

Success With Hypothyroidism?
Ms skinniness replied to buffythefatslayer's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was referring to those who have a thyroid but it is slow to metabolize. Having no thyroid is a dilemma. have you spoke with your surgeon about this? I'd be interested in finding more info on this. -
I had this problem for the first 2 months, when sitting with a client, my stomach would rumble loud and we would all start laughing. It does go away thank goodness.....Keep up the good job.

My surgeon is very conservative, she told me nothing over 10 lbs for the first 8 weeks.

Success With Hypothyroidism?
Ms skinniness replied to buffythefatslayer's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I do not have hypothyroidism, but I'm curious as to why someone with this disorder can't take medication for this to enhance weight loss with surgery? -

Super Saturday Weigh In
Ms skinniness replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I really want to thank Sleeve4me for starting this Saturday challenge. This is like a documentation for our weight loss. I have been feeling like my weight loss has been at a stand still since my 5 month post op, but after reviewing this is what I discovered: 2/12/12 167 2/20/12 160 3/3/12 155 3/17/12 154.8 4/28/12 152.8 6/2/12 149.1 I hadn't logged anything since june though. But today, my weight is 145.6 lbs. How cool is it to see this pattern in weight loss and here I thought that I was basically at a stand still. Simply amazing. This has been such a great tool.......... Thank you all! -
Anyone Eating & Drinking At The Same Time?
Ms skinniness replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in Food and Nutrition
It amazes me how people are always trying to beat the system . I got fat because I chose to eat the wrong food and I couldn't lose the weight. So I know that I sabotage myself in many different ways. I am choosing to follow what medical professionals tell us bc I can't afford to fail at this. -

Sleeve Ve Rny
Ms skinniness replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are so right..... All my docs treat me like I have the R N Y. Well I don't. I don't have a pouch, I have a stomach that's reduced by at least 85%. My intestines are all there and accounted for. Yep. However though, I do like eating the way I do. It has helped me be very successful in my weight loss. I love my skinniness now..... I have periods of time when I just want to sit those doctors down and share my insight with them. I will continue to eat like this forever..... -

How Many People Eat How Their Nutritionists Want?
Ms skinniness replied to pandabear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist suggested I eat a fruit for snack. It's so funny how every bodies professional opinions differ. I love really juicy plums and peaches. Yummy...... -
Your friend would probably fill like she hit the jack pot. I thought the same thing about my hubby's cousin. She absolutely loved them.

Am I Loosing Fast Enough? (Got The Sleeve At 154#)
Ms skinniness replied to vssupermodel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG, I missed all the excitement........ Oh well, didn't need the stress anyways. -
Today I went for an appointment with a general surgeon for gallbladder removal. Got there and they told me no surgery, you are not in pain, not a problem. He thinks that I have something going on with my sleeve. I've been hurting for a while but never complain because I thought that I had weak muscles there and really need to exercise them. I was wrong, I'm scheduled for a ct scan on abdominal area. I remember right after the surgery I actually felt my staple line through my abdominal area. It's been a pain since. Becoming a little more painful these days. Anyways I have to get to the lab 2 hours before my appointment time to drink a liter of fluid. If they can't find anything, then the surgeon wants to schedule an endoscopy. Blah! I really didn't like this surgeon, he was really arrogant. I think I might want to change docs for this.......
