I was a horrible migraine suffer pre surgery, since surgery, I have only had small HA's. They do go away with tylenol. But if I get a migraine, I'm going to urgent care for a shot. I have learned not to suffer. I am totally enjoying being HA free......... Dancing in the rain today!

Am I A Candidate For Vsg - Brutal Honest Feedback Needed
Ms skinniness replied to chaya's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Chaya: IMO you can do this. I am a total bread lover, tortilla's and pasta lover...Or, let me reframe that, I use to be. Now I am not that happy with eating those staples. Once you get to normal weight, you most likely can eat more veggies along with an adequate amount of protein. It's really no big deal. Just the fact you have diabetes is a major reason to have this surgery. The studies show that the early on individuals with wls surgery are more likely to not develop diabetes. I just down load some more studies on wls and eating and need to read before I quote. JUST DO IT! You won't be sorry........ -
Help! This Is Not Working.
Ms skinniness replied to wendy88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
These are your old thoughts that are sabotaging you! This is the pattern of thinking you had when on diets before........So now lets see if we can change this pattern to something like, I am so fortunate to have lost these 7 lbs. I know more weight will come off. And try to look at what's around the corner like, 20 lbs coming off........Please don't be disappointed or discouraged because you can't go back to the old eating habits. You have to move forward. Sit back and enjoy the ride now. It is going to be a roller coaster but you've got this.....This is a great start......Cheers to better health and the horrible (LOL) side effects of a hot sexy new body to come....... -

Am I A Candidate For Vsg - Brutal Honest Feedback Needed
Ms skinniness replied to chaya's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Actually ur A1c is 6.3 and my primary said that it's normal. Now someone mentioned gastric by pass for diabetes and I just finished reading research stating that diabetes returned 5 years later in about 40% of the 4000 studied. Now I know that with gastric bypass the pouch stretches. So I'm hoping that with the sleeve we will change the stats. IMO I think u would benefit in so many ways. But this is a decision that I need to make for u. What's right for me may not be right for u. So I hope u make the right choice for u. -
I hope u can stop obsessing over getting any complications. The probability of having a complication is really slim so sit back and follow ur docs directions and enjoy ur journey. Enjoy the moments u notice u have lost a pant size in one day. This is truly a miracle.

Hair Hell - Please Give Me Good News....
Ms skinniness replied to ShannonK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does stop falling out. It usually stops between 6 to 9 months post op. You will probably be getting some new growth coming in soon. I take biotin 5,000mcg and silica. My hair has been rapidly growing in all areas. So rest assured, it will stop and regrow...... -

Caligirl92: everything will go very well. You will have a nice sleep and wake up with little pain. Feel free to use your morphine pump as much as you need it. Heck, I pushed the button every time I got a chance. Oh and I sleep in an upright position. I believe that helped me with acid and gas. Got home and very little problems. The staff at the hospital were great. HUGS and best wishes....Can't wait to hear about your new journey..... -

Caligirl, My niece had her surgery with Dr. Ali and she is doing great. Lost a lot of weight and still losing, she's 1 year post opt. I also attended his orientation and I loved him. My surgery was October 4, 2011. I have also done fine also. I have reached my doctor's goal and surpassed it by some. But my personal goal is yet to come. Only a few more pounds. You will do fine.....Let me know how you do and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.... -

Would U Do It With Bmi Of 38?
Ms skinniness replied to NurseMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just reading about this makes me really angry ! How dare that nurse make such an ignorant comment to you! At my surgeon's office they told me that I wasn't big enough because they hadn't checked the diagnosis of diabetes. I was so confused up to the time I was being admitted for the surgery whether or not I was going to have the surgery. This was such a stressful period for me. I did complain to the surgeon about it and she wasn't too happy with them......I'd call the office and report her comments to the surgeon because she is also sabotaging many more patients there that will put themselves in harms way by not choosing the surgery because of her incompetence. Hang in there and do this for you and your health! You deserve it.... -

My surgeon ok'd yogurt and sf pudding for the second couple of weeks....... -
Wow you are really freaking out here. Take some deep breaths, go for a walk, talk to a friend, but stop thinking about this. You will not get cancer for the sleeve procedure, and if you did, they would just remove the stomach. Either way it's the same result......you will be so much healthier after your weight loss, that the probability of stomach cancer decreases significantly......Hang in there and try to use deep breathing when feeling anxious..... It will pass.

Im Starving..
Ms skinniness replied to steelergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your stomach has acid. Are you on a PPI (nexium, omeprazole, prilosec)? If not call your doctor and ask if it's ok for you to take one.
