white hands and face
Ms skinniness replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can you email your PCP and ask him to order a blood panel of all your blood values including iron? I did and my PCP ordered them without having to go in. That was the quickest way to get results. If no email, can you call him....Otherwise start taking an iron supplement to be safe. BTW, I have been so cold lately too. My hands are ice cold and my feet a very cold also. I think I heard this last for about 2 years post op. I was very happy during the hot weather..... -

5 Confessions (Join In)
Ms skinniness replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Littlebits: Have you tried Pureology shampoo and conditioner. It's full of vitamins and herbs, smells good, and didn't dry my hair out. I liked it better than nioxin. At any rate, nothing really stops the hair loss except time. A typical wls causes people to loose up to 33% of their hair. The good news is that it starts growing back in full force. I take biotin and silica and my hair is growing so fast that i have to have it dyed more often now.... I love it.... except the places I don't want it to grow... -

HOW TO FIX "mental" BEFORE SURGERY
Ms skinniness replied to Jessica9190's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I highly suggest seeking a qualified therapist to help with these issues........ -
Wow, I can't believe your eating all that food so soon. I was on liquids for the first 3 weeks and then pureed for 3 weeks, then soft foods for the next 3 weeks. Your stomach is swollen and needs some R&R to get over the trauma. Be careful you don't get a leak in your sleeve......Otherwise, your weight loss is really good....

Can your daughter have surgery before your insurance expires? Hoping the best for you..... It makes me sad to hear this too. -
please help! I am confused.
Ms skinniness replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, let's take a deep breath....... Everything will be just fine.. Now, which surgery did you have? The RnY or the sleeve? I know that I had the sleeve and I don't have a pouch, I have a stomach that is still intact but just smaller..... When you get to goal, whether it's before the end of a year or after we just go into maintenance. Which means we follow our NUT direction and eat a few more calories to maintain a certain weight. No big deal. You can do this, just take 1 step at a time. Always keep the diet high in protein and low in carbs. -
JUST NOT LOSING :(
Ms skinniness replied to Kristi64's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just keep doing what your doing... Your doing fine. Your body is losing inches right now. I always say, sit back and enjoy the ride...The weight will come off. Oh, and keep your diet low carb with lots of protein. -
Happy 1 year Surgi-versary 12/19/11 Sleevers!
Ms skinniness replied to favoredone's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have had a fantastic 14 months of weight loss. I accomplished my weight loss before my surgiversary and am very happy to say the least. Now it's staying on track and staying away from all the bad carbs which is really a challenge for me right now. I recently found my favorite recipe for fudge and have made it. This is the last year I will make it though. It's too tempting and I don't resist. So it's best not to have the stuff in my house. -
Those things are going to happen. If I was in your shoes right now, I would talk with your guess and have them remove all the tempting foods in your house. You don't need the extra temptations at this time in your recovery......I'm sure they will understand, after all you are sharing your house with time. Take care of you so it doesn't happen again. Throw those stupid cookies in the trash if you have too. Let me know what you decide to do. I do hope to take control of what comes in your house.

Felt a little out of place at pre-op class, smallest person there
Ms skinniness replied to Jenny12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a BMI of 36 and was the smallest person also. I felt really awkward but decided I was doing it for me and no one else. It got easier from then on.... Best decision I ever made. -
I really don't exercise like I need to. But I'm waking up in the morning lightheaded with a small HA. At first I thought I was dehydrated and so I have increased my fluid intake to about 70 oz a day. I eat about 1200 calories a day, mostly protein with few carbs. Does anyone experience this too? Or do you have any ideas what it's caused from? I am making an appointment with my PCP. Really would appreciate any feedback. Thanks! Happy Holidays!

Three Months Out & Now the Real Work is Beginning
Ms skinniness replied to PJ_Sleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is something that I struggle with on a continuous basis. I know that when I don't exercise, I have no energy. So now I'm making sure I walk on a daily basis even if it means going to the mall and fighting the looky lou's that stop suddenly which drives me crazy. But I have to do what I have to do. LOL..... I have not been using MFP in the past few weeks and will be getting back on track today. We can do this and will do it.... -

Coops ~ I can't wait until I can see the results......I have come to the conclusion that my body is at it's set point and now I'm focusing on maintenance. You have been such a inspiration to me. I'm working on getting a face lift in about 6-8 months too. Let me know how it goes, I'm so excited for you. -

Who woulda thunk it?
Ms skinniness replied to mezanne1401's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When working at home, your missing out on some of the social aspects of being at the work site. We all need some sort of interactions with others, and when we don't have the interactions, it can lead to depression. Also helps going into the job site because you get more movement.....your also away from home and the cues we get to eat. LOL.......I prefer to go into the office and be around my colleagues. Yep......When at work, take advantage of the social aspect of it too......very powerful.. -
